Hi everyone! I am about to leave to get my mum and myself a few groceries ... and she needs cat stuff ... she is still feeling under the weather ... Those are my only plans today ... it is STILL snowing I'm so glad that Kate was able to be frank with the public about what is going on with her ... I feel sorry for her that she had to do it though ... life of a public figure! This is what I posted on Facebook today: I will probably order something in for dinner tonight ... no idea what! My heart goes out to you and your family littlemama! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

I am not a royal family watcher or any celebrity sort of following person but it was impossible to miss this if you are on any sort of social media. IMO it was gross. And it was a disgusting offshoot of this social media culture we live in. How dare people think they are privy to her private details! I have had a real convergence lately of varied thought that has me *this* close to saying goodbye to most social media. This disgusting way she was treated just adds right to it.
I sat this morning over coffee debating what I wanted to do this weekend. I realized that I have about one big skeins worth of yarn left to go on a shawl I started on the vacation I took two years ago when Esther died. So I thought if I put peddle to the floor this weekend I should be able to finish it. I'll be listening to an audiobook while I do it. And then I want to make some candy for the kids for Easter sometime this weekend. And I want to see if I can read the second Harry Potter book. So those are my weekend plans. Luckily I don't have to go anywhere.
Tonight I'll have rechauffe for dinner.

We're having Chicken Tikka Masala with brown rice, poppadoms and mango chutney. We braved Costco this morning, were there as it opened and back out within 30 mins. I also made a batch of shortbread a few hours ago.

Greetings from sunny Las Vegas…We are having a good time. I am enjoying the warm sunshine…It has been in the high 70’s so I am loving it!!! I talked to my DH this am and there is fresh snow on the ground!!! Of course it will be pouring buckets the rest of the day, so the snow will be short lived.
Littlemama, so sorry for your loss!!! Ntsf….Happy Birthday to you…you share the Birth Month with many of my favorite people!!!!
Not sure what’s for dinner here…I must say I am enjoying the break from meal planning/cooking!!!

Happy Birthday ntsf . I hope you have a lovely day. It has been 19 years since my beloved sister passed away. My niece posted this on FB: My Mom had a knick-knack on her kitchen window of a flowering plant with this saying. When things didn't go the way I planned, she would say bloom where you're planted. To this day, this is a motto I strive daily to live by. Dinner will be gumbo and a green salad. Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning, friends. We are having a quiet weekend. I think we will go for burritos for a late lunch. I'm going to put some stock and beef in the crockpot for beef noodle soup later tonight. I may make some wheat bread to go with it. Today or tomorrow we will work together at the coffee shop to get ready for the week. Nick has a report to finish and I have some planning to do for classes. I may bake something sweet. We have plenty of books and firewood for a cozy weekend. Some hot showers to see if that helps Nick to be able to breathe better are also part of that plan.

Happy Birthday ntsf! DH fixed our dripping faucet in the bathtub this morning. He needed a special tool to get the cartridge released so good thing his best buddy is a plumber! I picked up a few groceries this morning and have nothing else planned for the day. DH is going to a fish fry tonight so I’m on my own for supper. I’ll finish up the leftover chicken strips by either making a chicken Caesar salad or wraps. No plans for the weekend but I’m looking forward to the warmer weather predicted for next week.

Dinner tonight will be tropical drinks and appetizers in the lounge at Trader Vic’s. My family’s favorite gathering spot. A stepsister is in town for a funeral, with her twin sons (adults) in tow. We would like to see the boys, and I’ll just leave it at that. LOL JoP, always good to see you posting. jeremysgirl, I wanted to tell I wore your shawl all day yesterday, first time I’ve broken it out since last fall. It was too warm for one of my wool sweaters, but too cold without. The shawl was perfect. And the colors went well with my pajamas. Thank you again!! One more thing: HP book 2 is the weakest of the bunch. It’s not terrible, just not as fabulous as the rest. But please stick with it, since it’s part of the story arc and then the books just get more and more complicated and wonderful. ntsf, happy birthday!! I put it in my calendar so we don’t miss it next year. 😘 karenlou, have a great time in Vegas and happy big birthday to you!! cadoodlebug, I’m sorry it’s the anniversary of such a sad day for you. 🥺 littlemama, thinking of you today.

Hi Everyone, This morning the boys showed up bright and early. Everything is happy; especially the dog. I’m glad they came home early; because we have had buckets of rain start last night and it’s supposed to rain all day. We have already had over an inch of rain, and we are under flood watches in certain areas of our county. The boys could not decide what they wanted for dinner. So one of them finally suggested pizza; so we are doing takeout. Today I plan on deep conditioning my hair. I’ve started using castor oil and it has stopped my hair from falling out. I’m also gonna be doing some laundry. That’s the excitement for the day around here. I am also going to watch YouTube videos and maybe do some reading. I am so upset that poor Catherine, Princess of Wales is facing this terrible disease. I was watching a British news channel on YouTube and they interviewed their American colleague who began crying at how horrible the media has treated Catherine, while she went through so much. I just don’t understand why people can’t just be kind to one another. But I am so glad that she and William figured out a way to protect their children from this news getting out while they were in school. leannec I hope your Mum feels better soon. That painting is beautiful. ntsf jeremysgirl You are such an inspiration to me. I wish that I could plan all of the things that you do and get them done. scrapmaven I am praying that your treatments are healing and helping you! JoP Your dinner sounds delicious. I didn’t know there were Costcos outside of the U.S. karenlou I am so happy that you are having a fabulous time with your friend. Celebrate Away! cadoodlebug Hugs to you today. These dates are never easy. What a beautiful memory and sign. tmarschall Your day sounds lovely. I hope Nick isn’t coughing to much. taylortroop Your dinner sounds good. littlemama Keeping you and your family in my prayers. lucyg Have a great dinner with your family; especially the twin boys! I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day.

I am serving Chipotle Bowls. There will be chicken, lettuce, cheese, black beans, lime herb rice x 2 (basmati and cauliflower), sliced red onion, sour cream, and salsa.
Not a very spring day here. Mountains looking to get snow and it is cold and wet from rain.
Kind of over it now and would like the warm sunny days back. Thursday and Friday were perfect at 77°.

destined2bmom I know how much you love having your boys home. When Chloe is here I'm like whatever you want for dinner, I'll make (or buy) it! As long as she's spending time with me I don't care what I have to do. Don't use me as your inspiration. Just know that days when I'm busy, it means that I'm thriving mentally. The days I say I can't seem to get going, those are bad days. And the bad days hover, so I know they are coming back at some point, which lights an even bigger fire under me to do what I can while I can.

Happy Saturday!
It's been a busy morning. Took my dad for a manicure, which he loved, and ran some errands. Now I'm chillin' at home before I head to dinner at our local sliders joint for my great niece's 5th birthday and then I'm heading to a party at my sister's for my BIL.
In between, I'm enjoying Buying Beverly Hills and playing Disney Dreamlight Valley!
Hope you all have a great day!

I too found the complete lack of medical privacy disgusting. She has her children to protect through this time as well. I remember being in school when my mother had cancer. I can't imagine her condition being analyzed in the press. ntsf happy birthday! That is a wise thing to buy. cadoodlebug Yes we have choices in how we choose to respond to what life throws us. Not always easy. I like how the lotus flower blooms in the muddiest swamps. karenlou have fun celebrating! jeremysgirl and lucyg yes I found the first two HP books delightful but more juvenile. They did grow in maturity with their characters. destined2bmom how nice you have your guys home! Was all ready to take the pupper for a walk with no rain in the forecast for a while and just as I was leashing him the rain poured down. Oh well. DH just called. He had to go into work this morning and will stop at our favorite dim sum place on his way home So that's what we'll have today. I had quite the insomnia last night and am dragging. I do have some cleaning to do.

Ooh Harry Potter might take a backseat. I've got two good ones on hold at the library ready for me.
I own the HP book but the one about Kurt Cobain is brand spanking new and I was the first person on the hold list for when it finally arrived. Woo hoo!

We're going to stop at the library today too...nothing on hold but I finished a novel I enjoyed and to my delight she has 16 others. A few are actually on the shelf at our local branch so I'll pick them up and decide if I want to request several others from other branches. I think libraries and these kinds of services are obe if my most favorite things on the planet.

Jeremy was on my butt about how much I was spending on books that got read once and then condemned to be clutter. Now, there are very few books I can't get at the library. And I don't even feel bad about not finishing a book if it's driving me nuts. Plus? Cookbooks! All the cookbooks you can handle!!!

I think libraries and these kinds of services are obe if my most favorite things on the planet. I agree. I haven't bought a hardcover book in years. When Covid first happened and all the libraries shut down, I was so thankful I had picked up a bunch of books right before the shutdown. Then they started curbside pick-up which was a Godsend!

I have a ton of books to be read that I have spent very minimal money on at used book sales. However, I love our local library and continue to order books from the library. I normally order newly released books so I can be one of the first to read them. They also had curb side pickup during Covid which was amazing! It’s also great living in a small town where the librarians know me by name and they will often order me a book when it’s newly released because they know what I like to read.

Whelp….I guess I was a little too optimistic about my mammogram yesterday. I called back in for further imaging ( a diagnostic mammo and ultrasound) Luckily they had a spot available Monday morning. Want to know the kicker???….its not the right one that I can feel something and had the biopsy on last year. It’s my left one, the one I wasn’t even thinking about! Ohhh boy!!
I am out today running errands and picking up a few things to take on my trip to Arizona. I leave Wednesday.
Hope everyone is having a great Saturday.
Dinner is probably going to be chicken legs and salad or take away. Not sure what I am going to feel like eating later
