I’m home today…and the Easter candy I bought weeks ago has been calling my name. My will power is non existent. I have sampled a few things already!
Do you buy early and have no interest in your stash? Maybe you are strong enough to ignore the fact there is chocolate in the house? Or, do you buy at the last minute to avoid the inevitable?
(At least I’m getting steps in walking back and forth to my stash, only allowed one at a time lol!)

Since Easter is early this year and I keep forgetting that, I have not yet bought any candy. And at this point might not at all. However if I'm in the store and run across the Reese's eggs, well all bets are off!

DH bought one bag of red starburst jellybeans for me....and I ate them all. I will go tomorrow and get the Easter candy for the rest of the family.

We went to Walgreen's this weekend and I picked up a Russel Stover raspberry marshmallow egg in dark chocolate. Only 1. I am kicking myself now. There are not anymore left and they are DELICIOUS!! There were still the regular ones in dark chocolate so I got a couple of those this morning.
I have a bag of Easter M&M's that I have hidden. I should get those out since it is almost Easter! Since the kid is 18, we got her a gift for Easter and a chocolate bunny. No other candy around to sneak into.

2 Halloweens ago I purchased snack size Kit Kats and eat 2 per day. It is my treat for myself.
We have not purchased any Easter candy this year. Usually we get some fot the school age children around us. They are getting older, so may not buy any.

Just wanted to point out the humor regarding this post landing in my feed just above one titled, "I like kale!"
Reese's eggs are one of my top 7 culinary wonders of the world.

I dislike American chocolate so most candy is off my list anyway.

Considering the first Easter candy for the year appeared in DH's Christmas stocking, I have still managed to keep myself in check.
I don't usually do a huge amount of candy, and the only "Easter" type/wrapped candy I get is a chocolate bunny for each person and Reese's eggs.
I usually get each person a box or bag of a candy they really like: twizzlers, the GOOD gummy bears, etc.
I usually do more non-candy things, like a t-shirt or 12 pack of microwave popcorn.
The only candy I will likely get is a bot of good dark chocolate and some peanut MnMs.

Not doing candy this year. Sent a gift to little grand son-some tshirts with his favorite characters and books about Cajun Easter! Teen grands got added money to their spending cards and books from their reading wishlists and fun tshirts. Thad’s are on their own since they are grown ups. Makes life easy. We don’t have any dupe plans this year, staying home and will just do a quick zoom call with everyone.

Now that the kids are adults, and only one is still at home, I hardly buy any Easter eggs. I will probably get one big gift box for DSO and DS, if there is anything left at the supermarket on Saturday. DD is going away to the beach over Easter, and I won't see her, so I won't bother buying her anything. I kind of miss setting my alarm for 4am Easter Sunday, to get up and hide the eggs all over the backyard for the egg hunt. I have enough other chocolate lying around the house at the moment, so even if I had bought Easter goodies, I wouldn't need to be sneaking into the stash. My willpower is non existent. The other day I bought a tub of fairy floss (cotton candy) and I ate half of it in the car on the way home, and the other half later that day.

I have had Easter candy in the house for two or three weeks. I have stayed out of it only because I bought it for a goodie box to be mailed to a ninety year old friend in a nursing home. Mailing it to her tomorrow so everything that didn’t fit in the box is now all mine!

I am not sure what to do. I want some good chocolate for Easter Sunday and I probably will be eating bagels and cream cheese as it is. Do it get a big box of dark Belgian chocolate for us? It’s one day.

Cadbury mini eggs and starburst jelly beans are in the candy drawer continuously from Mardi Gras until Easter.

Normally I have everything together by now but this year I have literally nothing. 😳 I wanted DH to go to the store with me two weeks ago. He complains when I get too much candy so I thought he could come with me and pick out the stuff he wanted, but he didn’t want to go. Then I was busy for the rest of the week, so I thought I’d sneak out Friday and go to Target. DD was off school, so I added some extra stops (including Michael’s which she hates, LOL) so she wouldn’t want to go, but then she said she DID want to go anyway. THEN we had about a foot of snow dump down between then and now and I haven’t left the house since then. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have a chance to grab some stuff either when DD is at the dentist getting a chipped tooth fixed, or after I hit the chiropractor in the afternoon, otherwise I’m not sure when I’ll be able to do it.

I guess that is one of the pluses of having severe allergies and kids with allergies and medical conditions that don't allow candy/chocolate.
I do really miss Cadburry eggs and Peanut butter cup eggs. Those were my favorites!!

I don’t make baskets anymore so I shouldn’t even be in that candy aisle at all. But the darned Walmart tricked me. I avoided the main Easter aisle and headed down the large wide aisle to the back of the store. This aisle usually has small kitchen appliances and some decor items. Well somebody decided it was a perfect spot to put the one Easter candy that I cannot walk past - Cadbury mini eggs. The ones with the hard shell and chocolate inside. This year they had both pastel eggs and a darker jewel toned variety. I had to purchase those to see if they tasted different than the pastel shelled eggs. And I haven’t tasted the pastel eggs since last year so I had to purchase both kinds for a fair taste test, right? And since there was zero reason to wait until Easter since I am not making any baskets, I opened them as soon as I got home.🫣🥰🥴

Mine don’t live here so I mail it or give it out right after I buy it.
My DS got some at st Patrick’s day and I just mailed my DD box Monday. I also sent/gave both of them hamentaschen for Purim. If my DS comes up this weekend I’ll take him shopping for Passover stuff as the store here is really good. DD I’ll send some cash to.

I don't buy candy for Halloween, Christmas, Mother's Day or Easter. I wait until the day after and get it on sale.

We always have candy in the house, but there’s no particular Easter candy we buy.
ETA: That’s a lie. Our gumball machine had pastel m&ms that I bought at Easter last year, which clearly were not eaten. I swapped the candy out last week.

I have this habit of putting notes I need for next year in the last few planner pages each year. That way I can transfer them to my new planner in the new year. So if I have any holiday related tips for myself (or notes such as "We'll need more wrapping paper in 2025.") I write those there. Many, many years ago I was forced to write a note to myself for the next Easter saying that any candy I wanted for my own basket needed to be purchased at the very last minute. I'm fine with not touching candy meant for our egg hunt or candy for the kids, but the candy for me I ate more than once before I finally gave up on buying that in advance.

I'm good about staying out of the Easter candy. I only bought so much per child so I didn't want to go through it and need to buy more. Halloween candy is a different deal. My mind takes that huge bag as an open invite to graze.
