My Keurig died, won't even turn on. It wasn't even 2 years old. So now I'm in the market for a new coffee maker. I have a very, very old, very basic, 5 cup Mr. Coffee coffee maker but the burner is losing its coating. I would like to have a coffee maker that brews into a thermal carafe, but that is not a deal breaker.
What is your favorite coffee maker and why?
TIA!

I have a Cuisinart that is single serve and I love it. I use the additional filter to brew my own ground coffee.
I have a family member who has the single serve and carafe one and they are very happy with it too.
The one I have was rated high by Consumer Reports.

I like it because the water is hot, there are 4 sizes, I can use my own coffee to cut down on waste, and it is programmable.

My friend's Keurig (less than a year old) broke. They contacted the company and Keurig set up a video call to help them! There was a person on the screen who could see their machine and tell them things to try. They fixed it!
Sorry, I was wrong. They had a Nespresso machine and that company did the video call.

Ninja. Less waste. Can make a small mug, big thermal cup, half pot, full pot. Can make rich brew and one that goes over ice. Easy to clean, easy to maintain. Workhorse. No pods that are terribly expensive and terrible for our planet.

We had a KitchenAid that worked great until it suddenly didn’t. Then DH upgraded to a Cuisinart from Costco that he liked. It’s programmable (although he isn’t techy enough to mess with that) but otherwise pretty basic. Supposedly it makes a decent pot of coffee. Then at Christmastime we went to a Christmas party one of his vendors puts on and I won a Miele. When I looked it up on Amazon and saw that they sell for $1800, 😳. Yeah. It’s all that. Grinds the beans fresh for every cup. Steams and/or froths milk. Makes all kinds of drinks including cappuccino, espresso, latte, regular coffee and I don’t even know what all it makes because I don’t even drink coffee, LOL. It will also make a kick ass cup of hot cocoa.

I don't drink coffee. Dh uses the Keurig every other day. We've had it 4 years now, no issues.

I have a Hamilton Beach "Flex Brew" dual coffeemaker that I love. It's programmable, and it has a filter so I can make single serve either with my own ground coffee beans or use a K-cup. The carafe side is programmable, and the only thing I'd change about it would be to get the one with a thermal/metal carafe instead of the glass carafe that mine has.

I love our Keurig K-Duo! It has the single serve option or 12 cup carafe and 4 serving sizes.

I loved my Kuerigs ... but damn. They just didn't last anymore. But I still love the single cup feature, but sometimes I want a pot... I switched to the Ninja Dual Brew. I can not recommend this thing enough! I LOVE IT!I mostly do the K-Cup brews. I even use KCups to brew some small pitchers, because I love the McDonald's KCups.. LOL I also make a lot of iced tea. The Tazo black tea KCups make awesome iced tea. I brew a single Tazo black tea Kcup at 12 ounces into the glass carafe and then brew it again (same KCUp) at 12 ounce or 10 ounce. I then pour this over ice in my plastic pitcher that I keep in the fridge. It is a really good iced tea. Being able to brew it into a glass carafe makes it so simple to make. I use it for hot water a lot. You can either brew just hot water, or switch it to 'boil' for a REALLY hot water. I watch my grandkids sometimes, and that hot water works great to thaw and heat a packet of breast milk - so handy. I use the hot water feature on a box of dehydrated hash browns (those suckers are GOOD). Just brew 12 ounces of hot water (I use the 'boil' setting) into the box and let rehydrate and pop in a frying pan or put in soups. You can brew KCups, single cups with your own grounds or full carafe with your own grounds (and anywhere in between). I have had it for over 6 months, so it hasn't passed the "how many years' test yet...but after having (and loving) Kuerigs - this brewer is such a better quality. It has a large water tank. It is a slim line one. It comes mounted to the side, but you can switch it to mounted in the back if you want. It's very easy to grab - it has better ergonomics than the Keurig ones. It has a built in hand grip that makes it so much easier to grab and fill, although I often fill it on the machine with filtered water. It has a frother on the other side, but I never use that feature. It has a fairly slim profile on your countertop. The glass carafe is nice. I got mine on a good sale, and they have those several times a year. CFP301 Ninja Dual BrewHere is a very similar machine, but it came out after mine. Does about the same, has less custom brew sizes, but the price is much less. If I was buying today, I'd probably get this one. Model:CFP101 Ninja Dual BrewBoth machines have the 'thermal extraction' brew that the Keurig KSupreme styles have - it makes a MUCH better tasting KCup brew. They brew fast.

We have one of these: MoccamasterIt is the simplest machine. Jay researched and picked it. We split the cost, as it is a bit expensive. It is worth it!
