Good morning.
Let's start off by sending jeremysgirl the strongest get-the-job vibes we have. It's time for the toxic work environment to exit the building, only to be replaced by a calm, productive, fulfilling job.
I caught a cold, probably from one of my thousands of friends at the airport. I am laying low and doing a puzzle while dh continues purging. I'm sorting paperwork and easy stuff. We found some great recipes from dh's jichon (grandfather), who was a personal chef. They're all in Japanese. The names of the dishes are written in English. So, dh remembers how good the food was, but we'll need a translator or perhaps one of our boys if we want to re-create the recipe. Wonder if I can scan it into google and use translator?
Dinner is pho.
What's on your menu?
ntsf, karenlou and leannec, how are the three of you feeling today? I hope that you're better. Sending all of you chicken soup vibes.
ntsf, how is your husband doing today?
What is everyone up to today?
May today be a happy Tuesday.

I'll report later, but going to a quick doc checkup, then will pick up dh. then I have to go to store to figure out dinner.

Sending positive job vibes to jeremysgirl. It’s a rainy cold day here and it looks like it’s going to rain all day. I have nothing pressing to go out for so I’ll putter around the house. Supper will be something turkey related, still eating leftovers.

Let me see Ojiichan’s recipes and I can see if they make sense. I can still read a bit but not Japanese so well anymore. Do you make your husband katsu karei. DS loves that.
We have drama and I am the loser in the situation and I am angry as The Boss the grizzly who just woke up in BC Banff National Park.
I am not sure what dinner will be. It’s only 8 am.

Happy Tuesday!
I'm just counting down the days until I leave to visit DS on Thursday. I'm so excited to see him!
Dinner tonight will be the kielbasa, potatoes and onion bake that I didn't do last night. My parents will come over and eat with me.
Hope you all have a great day!

It's going to be in the 70's today and tomorrow then back into the 50's for my 4-day retreat. I'm in panic mode as I still have so much to do! Ribs might be for dinner. Wishing everyone well!

We did chicken soup and burgers last night, a pick up at a local place. Tonight is rain turning to snow, I will work from home tomorrow. The morning commute is supposed to be horrible. Not sure what we will have for dinner. Something out, we need to pick up parts for my car and drop it off so it will get fixed tomorrow (a friend who is off this week will do it). My sway bar needs to be replaced. Good luck jeremysgirl!! Feel better to all who are sick.

Happy Tuesday! The painting was finished yesterday so I have a day free of workmen and appointments! Currently there are no plans for workmen the rest of the week so I plan to do some sewing and some decluttering in the guest room. scrapmaven - Hope you are feeling better soon! As for the recipe, give Google translate a try. I had great luck using it in a Paris museum last trip. While most museums have English signage, that particular one didn't. jeremysgirl - All the prayers and good thoughts going up for you today. It's your time! Dinner last night was rechauffe from the Easter Sunday grilling, as well as fresh bread I baked yesterday. It was my English Muffin Loaf and turned out so well. This time I used Einkorn flour (even exchange) which is very low gluten. Turned out so well and was even better toasted for breakfast this morning! Not sure what dinner will be. On my way to Central Market so I will see what looks tasty there! Sure wish I had my coffee buddy to chat with this week! Hope everyone has a great day.

I hope your cold passes quickly scrapmaven! A friend will be here for dinner so I won't know what we are having until later ...

I don't know what's for dinner. I've had one interview and 3 meetings and now I just have one more to go!

I might make split pea soup again. Sister sent me home last night with corned beef leftovers, so I have everything I need. Yes, I know I’m the only person on the planet who makes split pea soup with corned beef, but I’m telling you, it’s fantastic. Tomorrow sister and I are going on a road trip to the city where the gentleman friend lives (it’s an hour or more away, depending on traffic). We want to hit a store there, and we’ll check out his recent kitchen remodel, and then have lunch with him and a friend of his who used to be my sister’s boss and they still have a close/friendly relationship. Looking forward to a fun day. If I don't check in, dinner will be some sort of rechauffe. There always seems to be plenty here. Good luck to jeremysgirl, and I’m sending healthy thoughts to the rest of you.

Yeesh! Sending get better wishes to all who need them, good interview vibes to jeremysgirl, and hugs for all! Having one of those days where I have gotten a decent amount of work done, but it still doesn't feel like it's enough. I am probably going to take a sick day on Monday because I originally just had a follow-up with my nephrologist to go over my blood work and ultrasound results; but I still have some residual sinus crud, so my allergist wants to see me in person; and then my ovaries have decided that a 10 day cycle is just what I wanted (spoiler: it most certainly is not), so I want to get that checked out. In a nutshell: ugh. Dinner tonight will be a salad mix and chicken.

Good morning from beautiful Sydney. We flew up yesterday morning and all met at the airport - flights arrived within half an hour of each other - to take the train into the city. We’re all staying at the same hotel/apartment, so we walked down , checked in then DS1 and family bought take out lunch and let the girls rest in their room while DS2, DH and I went to a cafe downstairs for lunch. Once the rain cleared and Lucia had napped, we met up again to wander down to the Darling Harbour area where we visited a gorgeous Chinese Gardens. The girls had so much fun. Sophia had a kids map which showed Chinese zodiac figures, so she set out with her uncle to find them. Lucia was just excited by water and fish and birds and lizards and practically danced around the whole place. We split again for dinner, DS1 and family opting for a quick pizza at a pub across the street while we went down to The Rocks and had a delicious seafood dinner almost under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with views to the Opera House.

Safeway had their first Tuesday of the month sale with fifteen per cent off every fifteen dollars if you spend fifty dollars or more (even if items are on sale) with their Scene card today. We bought two frozen turkeys on sale and put them in the freezer. Lobster was also on sale and you get bonus points for buying them so that is what will be for dinner (not sure what will be with it).

so finally got dh home.. after pharmacy. now I need to walk the dog and go to the store. Having salmon, and asparagus and pasta for dinner. all they told him was low fat diet. (which we already eat)..
they ruled out gall bladder, alcohol and autoimmune disease as the cause of his illness.

jeremysgirl sending good vibes your way and keeping fingers crossed. I've been under the weather for about 4 days now. Not sure if it's a cold or allergies. I've been feeling terrible and just wish it would all go away. For dinner I am having chicken soup that my mom made.

Lovely photos sueg ! Enjoy your time in Sydney. ntsf I'm glad they were able to rule out three things. Let's hope they can quickly rule IN something! DD came over for dinner. DSO requested pasta, so I made Creamy Spinach and Mushroom Gnocchi. I also added bacon, because, well..... bacon!

AussieMeg Well now that sounds delicious! And with bacon? Yes please. I made a quiche for breakfast on Sunday. Dad always just uses precooked bacon when he makes quiche, so I kicked up a notch and made thick cut bacon in our air fryer and crumbled it once it was cool enough to not burn my fingers on, shredded the cheese myself (AKA, the food processor did all the work), and then followed his recipe for the rest of it. (Though I did use half and half instead of full heavy cream.)

We’re having stormy tornado watch weather. Schools & businesses closed early just in case. It’s mostly moved east of us. The sky was crazy with rainbows & odd cloud formations. Dd & Luke are sleeping over because our basement is set up for sleep. Their basement is unfinished and nowhere to sleep. She brought salmon over and I made broccolini, baked potatoes and salad. tmarschall the board eats my posts at least 3x/week. Always when it’s a long post. I’m sorry your family is acting up. jeremysgirl 🤞🏻you hear soon.

teddyw, may you all be safe from tornadoes and may everyone sleep well tonight. sueg, you have such lovely family. rymeswithpurple, too much icky stuff. I hope that you catch a healthy break, soon. tmarschall, sounds like we're both from families that put the fun in dysfunction. I'm glad that have a therapist to listen and guide you. bklyngal62, I hope you'll feel much better, quickly. ntsf, though it's good to have your dh home, I hope they have answers, soon. This might be a one off situation that never recurs.
