We had pink eye in my classroom a few weeks ago and I managed to stay clear of it. Yesterday my one eye was leaking a bit, just wet not gunky though. Today I woke up and instantly knew something was not right. My eye is really red but my eyelid is super swollen. Could it be pink eye? I obviously am not going to school till I figure it out. I have the first appointment at the doctor's in about an hour. Just killing time till then. I know people can get a sty, what is that like? Nothing is hard and there isn't anything on my eye. It is really annoying in any event.

I would say yes. I telehealth things like that. I figure my chances of picking something else up (illness) is greater by going in. Pink Eye is pretty easily diagnosed, especially since you have been exposed. I keep trying to talk my Vet into treating me for stuff like this. She says no. LOL When I need meds for our cattle - she just leaves it on her steps for me to go grab.

That sounds like pink eye.
A stye hurts in a limited spot...almost like a hard pimple on the skin surrounding the eye.

I am first appointment of day so I likely won't see anyone but doctor and don't have a crowded waiting room. Besides I would have to go pick up meds there anyway if it is pink eye. So annoying in any event. We haven't had pink eye for a couple of weeks, so weird I would get it now. We easily had 10 kids with it!

I’ve had both. A sty will have a little bump that you can see. When I had pink eye it started with feeling itchy and then my eye was very goopy and red. It responded very well to the drops that I got for it.

It is pink eye. Did you know there are 15 different types? Mine is fortunately the one that is contagious for only 24 hours, some are contagious the entire time you have symptoms.
I also have something else causing the puffiness so I have to use baby shampoo on my eyelid.
I am a mess!

I am well versed in pink eye- I get it every other year minimum.
Right now I’m being treated for it. Sinus infection, Nose blowing, bam pink eye from bacteria/virus exiting the tear ducts. So much not fun!
