I found a rug on Temu that I really like. I can’t decide if it’s a good idea or not. so, WWTPD?

I order from them and have been very pleased. Mostly craft stuff. My sister orders house stuff from them and it has all been great.

It’s probably a good deal but I do not shop on Temu. Don’t trust the quality and I don’t trust them with my payment information.

Don't use the app, which is known spyware. The actual site is about as reliable as any of the other overseas vendors - I wouldn't give them my actual banking info, that's what a service like PayPal is for. Also do not buy anything that doesn't have a listed size including units of measurement, and check those details carefully including seller feedback from other buyers.

Never thought about PayPal. Great idea.

I don't know what Temu's customer service is like but AliEx is very good, if you know how to use it. If you get something that doesn't meet expectations/specifications or doesn't arrive, you need to file a dispute immediately. Show the problem with pictures (draw circle/arrows if necessary) and use simple clear language when explaining the issue. Don't attempt to dispute through your payment provider as chargebacks get you banned from the platform entirely. The odds of getting something good are about 75% in my experience. The dodgier categories are things like electronics, cosmetics, young children's toys, jewellery, and anything expensive/luxury brand.

Have ordered from them probably ten times in the past 8 months or so, mostly craft stuff along with sterling earrings, placemats and a fabric purse. Have been happy with most of it. I don’t use the app, I go to their website, and use PayPal. I had a late shipment and they credited me $5, and an item arrived broken and after sending a pic, they credited me the item cost. I’m expecting an order this week.
I see lots of the same stuff on Temu that Amazon sells at a higher price.

I’ve only ordered once or twice but DD has ordered a bunch of stuff from there and has liked most of it. She usually gets little plush things, stickers or stationery type things but has also ordered some clothes and shoes she was happy with. I agree with only using the website because of the spyware plus their app sucks anyway, and definitely pay with PayPal or an encrypted payment that generates a special number just for online orders.

There was another similar thread recently, but the stupid search function doesn't work on this site, so I can't link it for you.
I remember that most people on the thread said YES!
I personally will not buy from Temu. The main reason is moral, in regards to the forced labour claims against the company. There are also lawsuits in the US against them, regarding data breaches.
I am not that desperate for cheap goods that I would ever consider buying from them.

I've been really happy with my orders. As long as I pay attention to measurements prior to ordering I always get what I am expecting.

I see lots of the same stuff on Temu that Amazon sells at a higher price. That would be because the majority of goods on Amazon in many categories are dropshipping listings mixed in with direct factory sales listings for the same factories that stock Temu/Wish/AliEx. Same goes for eBay and even Etsy, it's become one big glut of marked up products the seller doesn't even have on hand. They just pass your address off to the actual seller and pocket the difference.

I like Temu for fun little things like stocking stuffers, but I haven't bought anything bigger than a t-shirt.

I bought a pair of sandals from Temu for $5. I have to say they were better than I was expecting but they probably won't last long. I buy craft stuff all the time from AliExpress. I've never had an issue with my credit card being compromised at either place.
Go for it.

I just started ordering from Temu and so far I've been pleased with what I've gotten. As others have said, its some of the same merchandise I would buy on Amazon without the marked up prices.

I ordered from Temu when I wanted to try making wax seals. I really didn’t want to invest much, so the prices on Temu seemed reasonable. I placed a small order, using the website and not the app. I was happy with the quality of everything I got. So much so, that I have another order in for more supplies right now.
My biggest observation about purchasing from Temu is the very slow shipping. Definitely not someplace to buy from if you are looking for instant gratification or need an item quickly.
I’ve recently become interested in fountain pens. Once again, I really don’t want to make a big investment at this time. There are a lot of options on Temu. In fact, many/most budget fountain pens are made in China. Amazon and other sites have the same budget friendly FP for not much more than Temu with faster shipping . For example, the price savings on a Jinhao FP on Temu is only $2, but I can have it delivered free in two days as an Amazon prime member. Paying that $2 more to,get it quicker is worth it to me.
I ordered some other journaling supplies from a different Chinese website last year. I don’t remember what the website was, it wasn’t Temu or AliExpress. The shipping was very, very slow, and the quality of the items were very disappointing.

So far the few things I have bought have been Yay (or close to yay). Don't have big expectations though. It is what it is for the price. I have bought a few purses and they have been good. Craft stuff good. Couple of shirts, no didn't like. They were cute but SO sheer. Garage sale they go. Otherwise, it's a yay for me.

I've been happy with all my purchases (all craft related) from them and I find the shipping much quicker than Ali Express.

I have been happy with my purchases but they have been the kind of things I would buy at the dollar store and they are cheaper than the dollar store and Amazon. I have bought plastic nursery pots, head bands and ties, plant ties, nail files, plastic organizers and craft items. I would not buy clothes from them and I don’t know if I would get a rug from them.

I order from them all the time and with only 1 purchase that was the wrong size (my fault), I have been very happy with everything. I even took a leap and bought a swimsuit from them. Figured for $11.00 it would be a big deal if it was crappy. I absolutely love it! Fit perfectly, holds up well in the water and it was my favorite swimsuit all last summer!

I won't buy from them due them selling Stampin Up stamps/dies as their own. They use demonstrators card designs in their ads. Same reason I won't buy from AliExpress.

Correct me if I’m wrong. Not to be a nay sayer, however, aren’t we supposed to be focussing on buying made in America products rather than send our money overseas? I understand that both US and China have policies on purchasing back and forth. Except I’m really hearing a lot of buy “made in the USA”! Personally, I have difficulties with companies that steal/copy creative rights.

Temu frequently sells products that have been stolen from small stamp companies, like Spellbinders, My Favorite things, Hero Arts, etc. i would not buy from them

It's the middleman between us and the Chinese companies. So you can most definitely buy things there without "stealing" from anyone --just buy wisely.

When I watch some of the scrapbooking videos/lives they seem to be pushing “made right here in the US”. If you look you will find. Read the tags on your purchases. Yes I know they are more expensive. I’m just wondering if there was more people buying US would that drive the prices down. Hijacking the thread. Not what I wanted to do. I understand as countries we need the import/export thing. Like someone else said, make good choices when shopping on Temu.
