I’m seeing a lot of ads on social media for clean products. It’s gotten me curious about the products people are using and love. I’m looking for it all, cleaning products, food brands etc.

I decided a long time ago that I would use safer cleaning products. I use some Method cleaners, some Seventh Generation, some extra strength vinegar. I have suspected for years that many household cleaning products are unsafe to breathe. I’m happy that I made the switch.

We use Blue Land sustainable cleaning products everywhere and their hand soap in the kitchen (love the refill tabs that reduce plastic waste). Also Clearlif laundry sheets and Dropps dishwasher pods - these are not perfect solutions but a move in the right direction.
I also love Kitsch shampoo, conditioner, and shave cream bars. All clean ingredients I think and no plastic waste. I’ve stopped using bottled body wash in favor of plain Dove soap and it’s great. We also have bar soap in the bathrooms in place of liquid soap in a pump.
And we’ve been using cloth napkins and cloth huck towels in place of paper towels/napkins for years. Microfiber cloths for cleaning most things.
Food brands? Whole and unprocessed as much as possible. We’re not perfect with that but it’s always the goal. For bread we pretty much only buy Dave’s Killer brand, or the store brand from scratch, or make our own. I like Bear Naked granola and plain Greek yogurt with some fruit. Dinner is usually lean protein and a vegetable. We prefer to use pastured meat and sustainably caught fish. These things are more expensive so we cut back on portion sizes.
These things have come about bit by bit in our house over several years. I recommend picking one area where you want to make a change and start with that rather than trying to do a whole house overhaul.

I'm about as toxin free / clean eating wise and am in the process of changing things like cleaning products and laundry detergents.
In my research Branch Basics seems to be one of popular truly clean cleaning brands around.
Mrs Meyers and Method are greenwashed products. Some of their products are on the cleaner side but they contain questionable ingredients.
I've not found a laundry detergent that I really like yet.
As far as food goes - I buy very little 'processed' food. I mainly buy organic ingredients. I do occasionally use some Primal Kitchen brand products - they were bought out big food but so far has remained clean. For everything else I just read every label and buy nothing with additives, sugar, natural flavors, preservatives, chemicals etc.
I keep my home eating as clean as possible and don't sweat it when I'm out. I try to make healthy choices but realize I don't have control over everything. It's a balance that works for me.
My best advice is to read the back of the package for ingredients in for food and other products. Don't believe what is written on the front.

I switched to Seventh Generation for spray disinfectant because most of the others require a clean water rinse on food prep surfaces plus I hate the toxic smell. I like Method hand soap but I buy the gel and dilute it with water to work in a foaming pump because it lasts 4-5 times longer that way. I also like Norwex microfiber cloths.

I have started using a local brand called Will and Able - all the products are packaged by disabled people, mostly those with intellectual disabilities, and they are all paid a proper wage. The company ensures all the ingredients are “earth friendly” and all the containers they are in are made from recycled stuff; they can all continue to be recycled and the company has a programme that makes it easy for customers to return the containers when they’re empty. And the products work really well!

For laundry I mostly make my own stuff - a mix of vinegar and vegetable glycerine and some essential oil drops for scent works as a good softener. Pure soap and soda crystals work as a detergent. I also use bircab, vinegar etc for cleaning where I can.

A lot of "clean" products are just greenwashing. So know what you are looking for or not looking for in the ingredients. For me it's the harsh smell and fragrances they use.
For cleaning I will use things like baking soda, vinegar, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, soap mixed with water in a spray bottle. I have some stuff from The Unscented Co. Norwex rags are nice, I also use their laundry detergent.
