Nike's first look at Track & Field kits for the upcoming Summer Olympics. Thoughts? In case the Tweet doesn't work:

I read an article about this earlier today and many of the female athletes are unhappy. I can certainly see why.
I don't even wear traditional swim bottoms anymore--only short-style bottoms. I would not want to wear that, especially on a worldwide stage.

Can you even imagine running in that? It would be immediately crawling up your butt. No thank you!

I wonder why they think women can't run in shorts just as well as men can?

I feel like serious athletic gear shouldn't require a bikini wax.

WHY?! It's infuriating! I thought that those kind of ridiculous outfits had been left behind on the beach volleyball court. Ugh.
(Off to google other countries' kits.)

Ridiculous. First off we can all see the style for the women's is ridiculous. It should be the same as the men's. They are doing the same job. Why is it so drastically different?
Second why is it pink? That just adds insult to injury. They are competing for the US. Our flag is red, white and blue.
Didn't Nike do the sheer baseball pants too? What is going on with them?
ETA I did read that they do have other outfits and that they do don't have to wear this option. I still hate the pink.

I saw this on IG the other day, and a bunch of the atheletes were chiming in. One of them was like "I better get Only Fans money if I have to run in this..." and another said "Will I be sponsored by the Brazillian wax?" or something. They were right on! it was a post on citiusmag (a running magazine) Here’s the post on IG - I don’t do Twitter http://instagram.com/p/C5n8cw0rSNH

My thought is that both genders should wear the same level of coverage, so by those standards, then men need to wear banana hammocks a size too small.

Ridiculous. They could both wear the one on the left and everyone would be happy.

Are there women who have different anatomy than I do? Because what I have would not fit in that. My lips would be flapping all over the field.

Even with different silhouettes aside, why wouldn't the patterns match?
Both need to look like the men's. Same style and colors.

Now, I get why I don’t wear any Nike athletic wear or shoes. They don’t know how to design for a women’s body. I have tried on various items and the fit is always uncomfortable. And unpleasant. And it seems to apply to Olympic wear as well. Since the crotch area is light in color, will it become see through with sweat?

These companies seem to think that men will not watch unless the women are nearly naked. Most men are better than that.

Holy hell. I think all the women should go full bush on display if they are required to wear these. They can't help it if the suits didn't cover everything up.

"banana hammocks".... is that a real thing or did you just make it up? It's very descriptive and I'm sure I don't want to see a male athlete wearing something called that. Off to google.. Banana hammock = Speedo. 😂

What if the women said "Hell No" and refused to wear it?
What would happen then?

Why can’t ours look more like this? I can’t imagine trying to run in that high cut bathing suit.

Also, I've never watched one episode of Friends. Also, the photos I found when I made the mistake of googling are definitely not Speedos. omg, I will need to bleach my eyes, as littlemama said.
