Take a look at this unusual quilt. This may be old news to several of you that keep up on all the quilting projects available, but this is the first time I saw it. It took me a few seconds to wrap my head around the fact that I was looking at a fabric quilt. The woman that created it named it “Bling” which is quite appropriate. I did not read the whole article so I don’t know if she talks about how long this took to make, but I would think it would take a lot longer than the average quilt, although I am not a quilter, so I am only guessing. www.cosyproject.com/blog/kat-jones-talks-bling/

That quilt is made using foundation paper-pieced method. There are some beautiful paper pieced quilt kits. I have made 2 by Judy Niemeyer, www.quiltworx.com/

I can picture this draped across the back of a white couch in a very upscale type of decor, lots of clear glass. Not something that I would live in, but I can picture it in my imagination and it looks gorgeous. My preferred style is rustic with lots of texture so it wouldn’t work for my home, but I was still blown away with how much it looks like a real square-cut stone.

Beautiful quilt, thanks for sharing. Her blog states it took her 160 hours! Yikes!

The actual construction would be rather simple for an advanced sewer. It’s sewn onto a piece of paper “square” and then those pieces are joined together. But I’m blown away by her use of color and texture. To me, that’s what is impressive.
