I buy Ritz crackers nearly weekly. I snack on cheese and crackers on the daily. For about the past year or so, every single box I've bought has a side that is crumbly or completely smashed. It's annoying when the cracker crumbles in your hand when I am spreading on the cheese (Laughing Cow). I am going to reach out to Nabisco too. I may have to switch to Townhouse. I know, I know, first world problem. Share yours.

I would agree. I buy the little snack packs and it irritates me that 2-3 crackers are crumbles on each end. There is then only a handful that are full crackers.

We buy several boxes of the snack pack sizes whenever they are on sale. My DH loves them spread with Win Schuler's Original Cheddar Cheese Spread. We get the 2 lb tub from Sam’s Club. Recently we’ve noticed the crumbled crackers on each end of the pack PLUS (because the cheese is cold) the crackers either crumble or break when trying to spread the cheese on them. It’s so annoying.

Yes! I put peanut butter on them to give the puppy his meds. I’m happy if I can manage to keep half the cracker intact.
DH gripes about them, but keeps buying them. I can’t eat them.

DH thinks it's weird that i don't like Ritz. maybe because it's just about the only cookie my mom ever kept in the house when we were growing up. once in a blue moon, Chips Ahoy would appear but very rarely. it was Ritz all the time. to this day, i can't even think of it without getting queasy.

Me too! We switched to Club crackers. I love Club crackers. If you have an ALDIs near you, buy a box of their brand of club crackers. They are much better than the brand name.

Love Ritz! Not good for my waistline so I rarely eat them. Have not noticed excess breakage. I’m sure we went through a few boxes at Christmas. I’ll stock up again for when we go camping.

Hmm I have not noticed this happening. I buy the Ritz Fresh Stacks where they have like a dozen crackers individually wrapped.

I recently purchased a box of Club Crackers thinking how delicate there were. So light and melt in your mouth tender, thus could be broken on occasion. To my surprise, these crackers were much, much more firm. i was thinking they reduced the butter/oil used in making them resulting in a firmer cracker. But with Ritz, I think instead of upping the butter/oil, they are now pumped with air that makes them so crumbly.

Another possibility is they've downgraded the packaging to thinner cardboard that doesn't protect the product as well. We've noticed that with cereal boxes.

We get the Hint of Salt ones and I haven't noticed a problem. I really like the Great Value Whole Wheat buttery rounds from Walmart.
I love crackers so I share your frustration that you want whole crackers, not crumbs!

I haven’t noticed that but I buy them in a giant box from Costco and the cardboard the box is made of is sturdier than the typical thin cereal box type cardboard a lot of crackers come in. So maybe try a different store if you can? There might be a few crackers with a crumbled edge but that’s because once we take a sleeve out of the box it gets tossed in the pantry cabinet loose so it’s likely how they get that way.

Google it and there are complaints everywhere. They changed the recipe in response to the trans fat ban so maybe we just have to live with it.

In Norway they changed the size of the box for Ritz crackers. Sure, there was some wasted space in the old box. What they DON'T advertise is that you also get less cracker, and have to pay more for it. I hate when they do this, I'm sure you've all seen this too on different products.

It's annoying when the cracker crumbles in your hand when I am spreading on the cheese (Laughing Cow). They have certainly changed over the years. I think the biggest change came when the whole transfat thing happened - a lot of stuff changed, and not for the better. But lately, I am never sure if it is me (I feel like I can't taste like I used to, probably Covid related), or it the product has changed. I loved Graham crackers, Honey Made specifically. Now,bleh. And that was pre-Covid. The size got much smaller and the taste/texture is not good. As far as crackers - I love the Ritz Chips toasted crackers and the Club Crisps toasted chip crackers. Wow! I like the Club the best. These have replaced potato chips in my life. Potato chips are another food item that I think now are aweful. But these Club Crisps are delicious!

I agree that they aren't as good. We usually get the whole wheat version because we prefer the flavor, but lately they taste exactly like the regular version.
I will check Aldi. We don't care for their variety of wheat thins, but my kids do like the cheese-its a lot.

Totally agree, I haven't bought Ritz in ages for that reason - so many broken crackers, they just aren't as stable as they use to be. I don't buy crackers that often but when I do, I prefer Captian's Wafers (which are like Club crackers)

How frustrating! My husband is addicted to Club Multigrain - no issue with breakage on those ones. He eats them non-stop - he adds them to meals where he thinks the carbs are too light or to snack or just cause he's standing in front of the pantry. I'm not a big cracker eater, so don't really get it!

Yes, I noticed that they crumble much more than before, if they are not all broken before even opening the box. I've been getting Club that are in sleeves. I can't seem to get the Ritz in sleeves anymore, just jumbled altogether. I tried making a recipe for homemade ritz crackers.

I haven’t had any real issues like that with Ritz or Townhouse crackers. I buy the one that have the individual packs and we go through the fairly quickly since we all like slice cheese on crackers.i put other things on mine also. Sometimes the crackers have a few little chips on them but rare is the broken crackers.
Now I want go snack on some cracker wit peanut butter and jelly. So maybe bacon jelly. ,

Hubby bought me a dark chocolate block with baileys filling. Except they forgot to add the baileys filling so all I got was dark chocolate which I’m not a huge fan of. The first world angst and disappointment is real 😭
