It’s being reported on various sites that there have been explosions inside Iran, it is assumed to be Israel’s retaliation for the drone attack. Watching the news is just so stressful these days.

I’m guessing we will wake up to find out what Iran’s response was. They already warned that it would be quick and decisive.

US needs to stay out of it. Agreed. We have said we would not be part of offensive but if this turns into more? I sure hope we stay out of it. This is just nuts.

This is just nuts. we are about to pass an aid bill for Ukriane, Israel etc... and all wrapped up in it is a little ban for TikTok too. I am furious this is how our country is "run" these days. They can't do anything for gun control, health care, etc, but they sure can focus on TikTok (but of course, not Meta or X or anything...)

This is so scary. And yes, the US needs to stay out of it. I'm another who can't watch the news these days. My anxiety is bad enough without it.

This was the top topic on the Today show this morning which is about as much news as I can handle these days. Apparently, the thought is that Iran downplayed the attack and likely won't retaliate. Israel was warned by the US not to attack but it's clear they aren't listening to us. I do worry about a larger scale war and wish that we weren't part of it.

I think the US really needs to get over the idea that we get to tell Israel (or any other country) what to do. We don’t always listen to our allies and still expect support from them even when we don’t listen 🤷🏻♀️ The US isn’t the boss of the world.

IMO, the US doesn’t think it has as much leverage over other countries as other countries think the US does (or even some in the US in relation to Gaza). We can tell Israel (or other countries) what we would like to see happen and we certainly should put stipulations on weapons use, like we did with Ukraine. Israel can take that or leave it, but we also should make decisions based on what is in our best interest. At this time, I think it is in our best interest to stop sending weapons to Israel and limit our support.

The way they framed it this morning is that Iran was kind of laughing it off like it was a weak attempt but I'm sure they'll do something to save face.

I was listening to NPR on my commute this morning. A commentator mentioned that Iran used a lot of cheap drones on its attack that required Israel to use up a lot of its sophisticated iron-dome weapons to shoot them down. Iran counts this as a win, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see similar attacks with the same purpose of making Israel use up some of its arsenal. It’s not like they can ignore such an attack, because even a cheap drone can cause a lot of damage with a bomb.
