Good morning. Today we're gonna do the escape room and do more outside walk stuff. It's beautiful and a nice respite. What's for dinner? Not sure what dh is gonna do, yet. What's everyone up to this weekend? lucyg, how is your sister doing today? I'm thinking of you both. May this weekend bring fun, relaxation and lots of grins to the tribe.

Today was a lazy at home day, apart from a quick trip to the store. Weather still being unpleasant and not likely to change over the weekend. We don’t have anything planned for the weekend, except DH flying to Sweden Sunday afternoon. No First Communion class, so just regular church.
DH was in the city to see his GP this morning so we stopped in at the Viktualienmarkt and bought some fresh fish for dinner. He is now making beer batter for it; we’ll also have chips and salad.

Happy Friday!
Another slow day at work so I'm going to try and catch up on some household chores like laundry and generally tidying up the place. I didn't sleep well last night so I'm kind of dragging.
Tonight, I'll probably have my parents over for dinner and we'll either have a pork chop casserole or kielbasa with potatoes and onions. I haven't decided yet.
Most of my family is going to be away this weekend at another engagement party for my niece so I'm on parental watch duty. I would take them to the casino tomorrow but it's supposed to be stormy all day and I don't feel like driving an hour in those conditions.
Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Friday! Slow day at home for me. Just spent some time in my little garden getting rid of dead/damaged leaves. So many things starting to bloom and produce! Already have okra pods, tomato blooms and the herbs are going wild. Do have a meeting with a potential new gardener at noon. He also does paver work and we need some adjustments in front of the garage due to the roots of the neighbor's tree so will be getting an estimate for that as well. Always something with homeownership! My $20 Costco experiment is paying off royally this week. Bought the Dahlia kit (included pot/tubers/dirt) back in March. Here is what I have so far. Still pulling fabrics for the quilt guild garage sale tomorrow. I really don't have that much and have decided to just offer my things for free. My goal is to get rid of the stuff and that should pretty much accomplish it! Dinner will probably be out at a favorite casual restaurant of ours. Have asked friends who are mid-remodel if they want to meet up with us. Wanted to share this needlepoint canvas I recently spotted with the dinner tribe. Would love to do it, but there are way too many in the queue to buy more canvases.

Isn't it though? I'm just so excited that I got blooms. Where in France are you going? I'm sure where ever you land it will be an amazing trip. Thinking I may make a return trip next year (used to live in Paris, but my heart is in the South of France). sueg - Thought of you today when I was reading the travel section of the NY Times. I really enjoyed our visit there, but it was in December/January and would love to return in the summertime. 36 Hours in Munich

Doing the last load of bed sheets now. Still not feeling well but I'm hoping I can sweat some of yuckiness out. No idea what's for dinner.

**GypsyGirl** - that is one of the best articles I’ve seen about touring Munich and probably one of the most realistic. I’ve seen so many ‘36 (or other number) hours in’ itineraries that are totally impossible unless you can teleport and walk through museums without actually looking at anything. Summer is lovely here, but I’d really recommend late summer/ early fall (August - September) as it’s not so hot and you don’t run into high summer closures.

I always make fried "dirty" potatoes but never cooked the kielbasa in them too...And I have not ever done a sheet pan dinner with them! **dirty comes from frying in bacon grease SO may have to work tomorrow, usually if it is on a Saturday it is not the whole day. Since we were going to start the bathroom, this is not ideal either way! But I will clean out the bathroom of everything so it will be ready when he gets home. Dinner will be out, we did not do any errands yesterday so tonight we will.

Made it safely to the Bay Area and dropped DH at the golf course to play with 3 friends. I'm at DS'S and he unloaded the car for me. We'll get lunch, then I have some errands until I meet up at 2:30 with my 4 friends known as the Lunch Bunch. Can't wait to see them and give them the Friendship Photo books! DH and DS will get a pizza for dinner and I'll eat a slice when I get here. I also brought a little leftover salmon and salad makings. TGIF!!!

Supper last night with friends was fun. I had a chicken flatbread - it was the special and a great deal for $9.99.
Tonight DH and I are going to a fish fry with my brother and SIL. I’m not looking forward to it because I know it will be very crowded and noisy.
I got rid of some books today. I donated some and gave my mom some for her apartment library. You can’t even tell that I thinned out my shelves. I think I have a book problem!
I just got back from walking the dog. After many great walks, I thought we turned the corner with his leash pulling, but nope, he was terrible on the leash today.
Still trying to find a cruise. We are now looking at Canada/New England with a few stops in Newfoundland. Problem is they are either not at the right time, too much money, not the right ports, etc.

cadoodlebug enjoy your visit. The weather is perfect today. scrapmaven have fun escaping. I love hearing everyone's travel plans. I'm not sure when we can leave our furball as he gets into too much mischief. I would like to get to Italy again in the next few years. We'll probably wait until DH retires next year and hopefully by then our pup will be okay. taylortroop Our pup did that too after months of walking just fine. We had a nice walk and I need to take care of a few things today. We need to get our vegetables fully in this weekend. Today we will take out Thai food.

I was in France over 20 years ago and while Paris was nice I enjoyed the countryside the best. We are going out to dinner with some friends. Not sure where yet. I am so looking forward to little to no plans this weekend but I have so much to do around the house. Ugh...

I went to exercise class.. then to ft point under the south end of the Golden Gate bridge. I used to work there and am showing a few friends around it tomorrow. I wanted to look at the new exhibits they just installed before then.
I need to make some cookies tonight to send my sister tomorrow. then review my ft point book. I worked there in the early 1980's.
dinner is left over lemon pepper chicken, pasta, strawberries and an orange.
sunday dh is going to a greece trip reunion and then he is leaving monday for points north. I am going more whole hog on getting rid of stuff.
when I think of biking in France, I think of my old landlady outside boston. She had a bike she brought back from France when she went there for a long visit in the early 1920's. she told me she hated the fashion then so didn't have any of her old clothes. she did have family gowns from the 1840's-1900.. including several Worth gowns (he was the top designer in the world at that time.

cadoodlebug.. the new exhibits seem really good (didn't spend that much time at them).. interactive, some good video. the living quarters had lots of additions. though it cracked me up that they still have some of the same signs in the kitchen area that were there when I was there in 1982!! "beans badly boiled killed more than bullets".. fav quote I used all the time. for those of you ever thinking of visiting, it is the coldest place in SF, creates its own windtunnel. but is a fabulous 4 story brick building right under the bridge. I have bridge rivets that fell around us as the bridge was revamped overhead.

Marina: Did your fur baby just have a brief lapse in leash walking or did it last awhile? DH and I have a couple things planned to get away in the summer and I’m not sure what to do with Walker. My mom would stay with him but she’s 83 and he’s big and a lot of work sometimes. There are a couple kennels close to us but I’ve heard from some people that they have boarded their dog and it comes home a totally different dog!

Harper can’t wait whenever I mention the guys name who owns the kennel and when she comes home, she sleeps the whole day. Maybe you could find somebody to come in and watch him while you’re gone. Would one of your sons do that for you?

Went out for happy hour but it was just the regular menu. I had a Cajun shrimp dish. **GypsyGirl** our Costco just sells bags of dahlia tubers not the whole kit like that. I’m dying to plant stuff but there’s still a frost chance. It’ll be in the 30s again at night. No patio work today. It’s still so wet.

We had the leftover Thai food from yesterday. We ordered 2 meals plus crab wontons and it fed the 3 of us for 2 dinners. Dh has wanted to have Shawarma for his Friday night pick/birthday pick, but with so much Thai food left, we couldnt do it.

I had Chinese takeout for dinner because DH ate a big lunch with his Mom after they did the walk-through at her new senior living apartment. She moves in on Monday. He and several siblings have been diligently working to get things organized and finish the downsizing all week (and over the last several months as well). Now they have only the weekend left and the movers come on Monday. She's already had the big furniture pieces she's moving earmarked, but there's still a lot of other stuff to sort/donate/pack (and reminisce about LOL). DS had dinner with friends. I have some new scrapbook supplies to play around with this weekend and a Stanley Cup playoff game* to watch on Sunday! I also have the usual slate of laundry, cleaning, errands, etc. I'm trying to stay really busy so I don't dwell on the fact that tomorrow is the 1-year anniversary of my Dad's passing. I mean, I'm sure it will be on my mind all day (as it is now) but I don't want to get mired in it...KWIM? Also looking forward to a visit next week from DD2, who gets here on Tuesday! I took some days off to hang out with her next week. *DH got me surprise tickets to the Washington Capitals last home game of the season (vs Boston last Monday). At that time they were still fighting for a playoff spot and they needed to win their last two games to make it into the playoffs - they did so now I have more hockey to watch! LOL. Even if they now have an uphill battle vs the NY Rangers...

Hi everyone! Omg I just realized it's been 2 months since I posted in here last! Sorry I've been MIA I've just been SOOOO busy! hmmm where to start. I got a puppy on March 1, Frankie the isabella/tan dapple miniature dachshund, the new love of my life. He's almost 4 months old now, super sweet and cuddly, my constant shadow, and a little bit of a brat when he's feeling lively LOL He can go from super cuddly to velociraptor in mere minutes with his super sharp puppy teeth. But he's smart as heck, and has learned how to sit, stay, lie down, look at me, and roll over. He doesn't quite understand how to shake a paw yet. But potty training unfortunately is slow. I hear it's a dachshund trait, along with being very stubborn. He's great about going outside if I stay on top of taking him out regularly - but he doesn't even try to ask to go out. And he has also from day one HATED his crate. I tried for 2 weeks to get him to sleep in the crate and then I finally decided I liked sleep too much and this is not a battle I need to win. Now he sleeps with me and we both get a full nights sleep, usually with his head resting on my shoulder or arm. He does have a bit of separation anxiety and does not like being alone. That is something we will have to work on. He has done wonders for me helping lift my spirits, and has taken alot of the heaviness of it all away. I got my house listed for sale! This is the second weekend of open houses. We've had lots of people through but no offers yet, although i hear that one family is very interested - but their house isn't listed for sale yet. Hopefully someone decides this weekend that they must have it. Unfortunately because of the price point, it's not a starter home so it rules out a lot of buyers. Fingers crossed! Because we are all tired of living in.a house that constantly has to be "show-ready" And even more exciting news - I bought another place! I got a middle unit townhouse, 1700 sq ft, 3 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms. Fully landscaped backyard with a brand new deck.Back in the city but only 7 minutes from where I live now, so not a huge lifestyle change in terms of new location. I'm so excited! Moving date is in June - but I really need mine to sell before that! My daughter is back living with me and we've mostly worked past all of our issues. As long as I keep all my feelings and opinions about anything she disagrees with to myself Whatever, it keeps the peace & she's only here until the fall. And her dog and mine get to entertain each other. I've missed you all & thought of you often, but have been so busy there's been very little internet or tv time for me to catch up. I hope everyone is doing well.

taylortroop it was short lived. But also if my DH walks him for a few days we have to do a refresher. 🤣. Regarding dog sitting in the past we've used college age kids of people we know and it worked well. Then a friend found one through rover.com and had used her a couple of times. We loved her but she passed away so we are now looking for someone else. Ask friends with dogs what they do. They might have a referral. I prefer a dog sitter than a boarding situation. tanya2 nice to see you post! What a sweet puppy.
