Just curious because I'm kind of shocked at how little attention this is getting. Obviously there are a lot much larger things going on right now, so part of me isn't surprised, but part of me is.

- Huizer was a police officer & a school resource officer.
- In 2022, he impregnated a 15 year old. He was 37. They had a "relationship" and continued it after the baby was born.
- He was a substitute teacher after leaving the police department for disciplinary reasons. He was hired as a teach after he'd gotten a teenager pregnant.
- In February, he raped a friend of his victim/"girlfriend" while she was passed out. He was arrested and released on bail.
- Last week, he shot and killed his ex-wife (at the school she worked at, but after school was out), murdered his girlfriend (the teenage mother of his baby), kidnapped his one year old son and fled the state.
- The next day, he was spotted near Eugene, OR, and after a police chase, he shot and killed himself. The child was uninjured.
There are so many issues that make this case just terrible and shocking. I'm horrified he was hired as a substitute teacher when he'd had a baby with a 15 year old.
This statement from the school district makes my blood boil.
“We are extremely disheartened that information about Mr. Huizar’s past was not disclosed to us through the various processes we have in place to vet RSD candidates for employment,” the district said. “It is the expectation for individuals who apply for employment with RSD to be forthcoming and truthful in their applications.”
