It's better than some films, but it's too formulaic for my personal taste.

It was okay to me, but maybe like you I should watch it again? I always loved Sleepless in Seattle and probably watched it a million times back in the day!

This was a fantastic movie and I have to stop and watch it every time it comes on. I think it's streaming on Netflix right now too which is awesome! Fox. F-O-X! I loved Meg Ryan's face back in the day.

"Remember when you thought Frank was the Unabomber?"
I love this movie. I quote it regularly.

I love this movie. I could never choose between this and "Sleepless in Seattle." They are both wonderful and so heartwarming!

I love it too, and the end always makes me tear up too. I highly recommend the movie this was based off too, starring Jimmy Stewart, "The Shop Around the Corner". It is really very funny and one of my favorite Jimmy Stewart movies. It isn't as romantic and gushy feeling as "You've Got Mail", but it is a great movie. I just caught this this year. I didn't know that "You've Got Mail" was a remake. And a nice nod to the past with having her shop call "Shop Around the Corner"

This movie and Sleepless in Seattle. I'm not into Rom-Coms but I've always liked these movies. I think it's the chemistry between Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I wish they would do another one at this point in their lives.

I actually think it's one of the worst movies ever made. Mind you I do prefer something with aliens and a bit of a twist so what do I know??

You know, I (like everyone else) loved When Harry Met Sally, and I love a NYC movie, but for whatever reason both this and Serendipity left me cold. I think that by the time You've Got Mail came out it read to me as derivative of the other, similar movies Meg Ryan had starred in. I do like the NYC shots.

I love it too, and love it even more every time I see it! It also reminds me of a period in my life that seems so free and easy in restrospect. Pre-husband and child, pre-debt and responsibility! I think I was in my early 20's... too lazy right now to look up the year!
But my favourite is still, and always will be, When Harry Met Sally <3

Yes I love this movie. I DVR'd it last night. Love that one and French Kiss too. I love Barkley... ... LOL the "puffing" as he walks by the door by the desk...
Dang why did Meg Ryan make herself all wonky. And why do actors hate those roles?? There's always those of us who love them and watch it over and over...

I'm kind of surprised so many love this movie. I found it kind of dull. Maybe I should try it again. Haven't seen it in years.

I have always loved this movie for several reasons which include Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan but the dog, Brinkley, makes the show. In the end, when they are kissing in the park, Brinkley tries to get between them. We have the same problem at our house. We have golden retrievers too and one named, Pepper, thinks he has to come between DH and I when we are hugging. I also like the part where Brinkley follows Tom Hanks up and down the hall. Once you have a dog you never go anywhere alone again.
Also like another Pea, this is a very quotable movie.

I bet it would be delightfully dated by now I've only seen it once, when it first came out.

It's a great movie but I also love the way Meg Ryan dresses in it. No one looks cuter in a cardigan!

I love that this movie reminds me of my love affair with Barnes & Noble. It's just a sad shadow of it's former self.

You are a lone reed.
He ran Spain.
Good thing it wasn't the fish!
a piazza - a place where people could mingle and mix and be...
If only...
Don't cry, Shopgirl.
Tall! Decaf! Cappuccino!
You are nothing but a suit!
Thank your.
He stood you up???
Don't you think daisies are the friendliest flower?
Just call me Joe!
So many good quotes. One of my absolute favorites. I've never seen The Godfather, so if I quote it I'm actually quoting Joe Fox quoting The Godfather.
