Last night, after running around so much over Christmas, I just felt like laying on the couch and watching a movie - rare for me on a "school night." TLC (not sure why?!) was showing "You've Got Mail." I know I saw it back when it came out in 1998, but I don't remember much about it, I guess I wasn't in the right mood or something and it didn't make an impression on me - I haven't seen it since. But holy cow! It is the cutest movie ever. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan were both so adorable back then. And so many other good people are in it - Parker Posey, Greg Kinnear, Steve Zahn, Dave Chappelle, Dabney Coleman, and even "Edith Bunker." Such a great story, great New York scenes, plus it's kind of like a time-capsule at this point - so quaint to hear the sound of the AOL connection being made over the phone line - seems like a lifetime ago! Anyway, if you haven't seen it, I urge you to watch it next time it's on I realized that I like this movie even better than Sleepless in Seattle, which I also love.

Yes, this is one of my favorite movies. I have it on my ipad and will watch it while traveling or just whenever I want to sit down and watch something on a rainy day. Love it!

YES! We have it on DVD and watch it at least 2 times a year, usually once around Christmas. LOVE it. Meg and Tom have such great chemistry.

One of our favorites. Last night I watched Father Goose with Cary Grant. It was good to see it again.

I love this one. I watched last night as well, and as usual, that final scene has me in a puddle of tears EVERY time!

I do love this movie. I like the actors, the characters, and the dialogue. I'm a fan of Nora Ephron and I'm so sad she's gone because I'd love to have seen what else she would have developed.
I think it's a charming movie and one of my favorites.

I caught it last night on TLC, too! Love that movie. Reminded me that I need to look for "Ballet Shoes" and "Skating Shoes" at the library. . .

I've always loved it. It's one of those movies that I always watch when I see it on, no matter how many times I've seen it. I have always wanted to open a little bookshop like Meg's in the movie.

I don't know what it is about this movie that keeps it at the top of my yearly watch list. The characters/actors, music, story line...the quaint little bookstore that Kathleen's mother opened so many years before and how things change... It's a classic in my book.

Yes. If you like it, you should watch The Shop Around the Corner with Jimmy Stewart and In Ihe Good Old Summertime with Judy Garland and Van Johnson--the originals... Both excellent!

I love it too, and the end always makes me tear up too. I highly recommend the movie this was based off too, starring Jimmy Stewart, "The Shop Around the Corner". It is really very funny and one of my favorite Jimmy Stewart movies. It isn't as romantic and gushy feeling as "You've Got Mail", but it is a great movie.

I love it! When DH and I were in NYC a few weeks ago, I joked to him that I wanted to find The Shop Around the Corner. He joked back that didn't I remember, it closed?

Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.
I love this movie. One of the most quotable ever!

One of the most quotable ever! I think that might just be my favorite movie quite ever! I love that! I, in fact, have made bouquets of newly sharpened pencils for a few teachers because I love the idea so much!

I love this movie way more than Sleepless In Seattle, and I think it's because the leads are together so much more. In SiS they barely have any face-to-face time.

It is one of my favorites. If it's on tv, and I catch it I will always turn it on. I love it so much.

I love this movie too. I just read a list of movies that will no longer stream on Netflix on January 1st and this is one of them. I've been trying to watch a few of them while I'm on break from school. Last night I watched "Kraemer vs Kraemer." I plan to watch Manhattan too - keeping a NYC theme to my movie watching, I guess.

I love it, and also The Shop Around The Corner. Along with As Good As It Gets. Two old rom-coms that I love are The Awful Truth(Cary Grant and Irene Dunne), and My Favorite Wife, also with Grant and Dunne.
