This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it.2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Welcome to a New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Angie called us on the 27th to ask if we could set up a FaceTime at about 5:30 that night. I thought that was strange, since we usually just Facetime at any old time, but I wondered if they had something special to tell us and were trying to coordinate with Jon's parents too. At 5:30 the ipad beeped and we saw Angie. She asked if we knew where she was....by then the kids were half way to the door and she let us know they were parked in front of our house. Our other kids knew, but they kept the secret from us. Such a WONDERFUL secret. We had all the younger kids come spend a day and a sleepover on Monday. It was wall-to-wall children, but so much fun. When the 7 children left, we couldn't believe the silence! LOL! Angie is leaving tomorrow, so it was a quick trip, but so nice to be able to enjoy little Christopher. Babies grow and change so quickly. The big snowstorm came right behind Angie and the wind has blown and it's terribly cold. I hope they aren't blown off the road going home and that the Sierra Nevada mountains roads are clear. They'll be glad to get home to warmer California...although I understand it's cold there too right now.
I can't wait to get back to scrapping some more. I'll post my latest pages when the "troops" all leave. I have lots of Disney pictures to finish.

Oh boy Nylene what a great surprise! I can tell you may be tired but you had a great holiday!!!! I know it must have been wonderful to sit and hold that new grandson and I am sure Drew and Sammie kept you busy! Love it. We have cold weather here too. No snow though. Football bowl games tomorrow and I will be making pork and sauerkraut! So we are in for the night. I have some snacks lined up though! LOL Here is the kicker-I posted this page here but actually got it together last night. Hopefully this will kick off my scrapping for the new year! And yes it is an traditional paper layout Nylene! Pam, it's so nice to see you checking in. I'm glad Robin is doing better. I was hoping you were not ill. We have missed seeing your beautiful digi pages. And no, you will never forget how! You do such amazing work. Hope you get some time to do a bit. How's little Ruby?
Cindy, I love your layout and left you a note on it. It's fun to see you do both paper and digi scrapping. I'm sorry you are under the weather. Hope you had some good sleep last night to start out the new year.
We watched a movie last night and went to bed VERY early. Totally missed the New Year, but that's ok with us. We have had a fabulous week with all the kids.
I posted a layout in the gallery. I can't seem to link to my photobucket acct. but I think this will link to it in the gallery. At least I'll try this.
Well that doesn't work either, so I'll just tell you it's a Disney layout in the gallery titled: Luigi's Flying Tires.

How to link your layout in the gallery to the thread.
Open your layout in the gallery and copy the url. Come over here and click on the icon for inserting a image and paste the url in the box and hit ok and it should come up in your post I did mine that way so you know what it will look like.

Trying again: Nope, I tried both the insert image and insert link. The insert link looks like it is clickable, but it takes you to nothing. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. My photobucket account suddenly won't let me click on any of the links to post it. It might be some blocker installed by SIL. www.flickr.com/photos/129156123@N06/16158198092/in/pool-2peasrefugeesWell, that worked. I just posted the url right into the message without any buttons. I guess that's better than nothing. LOL!

Happy New Years to everyone! Ron and I had a nice new Years eve and even had our own dance party! It didn't last too long as we are not "spring chickens" anymore. LOL! But we did have fun and welcomed 2015. Today was good and did you see the Downey float in the Rose Parade? I finally saw it and it looked so nice. I can't wait to see it in person over the next few days. SO cool! Also today we just relaxed and watched the games. Mom came over and we enjoyed her too. Plus it has been so cold for us spoiled So. Californians. In fact I have been wearing my flannel pjs during the day too. LOL! Cindy- OHIO won! I know you were excited. So now Ohio and Oregon should be a great game. Hope you are feeling better today and stay warm back there. Nylene- What a great surprise you had! I know you must be happy tired and hope you get some rest too. Pam- PAMMY... so good to see you. Glad to hear your dd is better and hope she continues to get stronger and stronger. I can't wait to see you art/scrappin and I know you will remember once you get back into it. Sending you hugs and stop by again when you can. Waving hi to everyone else and wishing you a lovely Friday!

Thanks, Cindy. I can always count on you to walk me through. Kelly, sounds like you and Ron had a great New Years. I saw the Downey Float. It was beautiful, as were all of the floats. What a lot of work must go into them. Here's another Disney page. At this rate I'll still be scrapping our 2014 trip in 2020. Cindy, I'm glad you are feeling better. This is vacation time, not a fun time to be sick! Congrats to your team! I finished another Disney layout today. Just couldn't get in the mood to do the housework my house requires. I have an adult scout meeting here tomorrow, so didn't want to start taking down Christmas decorations yet. So I hung out in the scraproom while DH watched football. www.flickr.com/photos/129156123@N06/16003752737/

Good evening Peas! Well it has rained here all day but never got cold enough for it to freeze, but will be getting snow tomorrow. I did not get much accomplished today. I did go get some sudafed and my nose has finally quit running! Hurray!!!! I have not scrapped either. I am working on the jigsaw puzzle now and then. Today will be the first time I have gotten my steps in in over a week! I only need about 400 to reach my goal. I put Christmas decorations away yesterday and was organizing some of my clothes today-got the dresser done. Nylene I love your newest page and left you some love in the gallery. Going to go watch the football game that is on- Pittsburgh and the Ravens. I am looking forward to the National Championship game now that the Buckeyes are in it. If you like to watch the bands go to You Tube and watch the Ohio State Band half time shows-they are really cool. Just put their name in the search box. Here's a link if you are interested: Ohio State Marching BandHave a good one!

Happy "Back To Normal" Monday! LOL! Not much going on here today but glad the holidays are over and back to my normal routines. I really got to clean up around here so I guess that is on the agenda today. Still working on my art video and hope to have it done this week. Oh, I almost forgot to tell ya, we went yesterday to see the Downey float. Boy, was she beautiful! I took some pics and will post them this week. I loved the life-size horse that was carrying the sledge. So amazing!
Cindy- Yes, you are feeling better! So happy for you and I hope the Buckeyes win this week. That will really make you feel better.
Nylene- I hope you are recovering from all that company you had. What a great time it was. Oh and I am off to see you pages in the gallery now too.

Hi, Pokey Peas! Yesterday when I went back to school I took some corner "Monster Bookmarks" I'd made for my little readers. They loved them and I hope it will encourage them to read more at home. The Reading Program director saw them and wants some for all the students we are working with. So today before Cubs, my Cricut was busy cutting pieces. The children can glue them together in a few minutes with all the pieces cut. I hope they will like them. The Director said, "I think we can get you some paper." I just had to laugh. Paper is no problem at this house! It has been fun spending the day in my scraproom, even if I'm not doing pages.
Kelly, how's the art video coming? What fun to see the actual float up close and personal. It was beautiful. Can't wait to see your photos.
Cindy, I hope you are feeling better. How much longer will you be wearing your monitor?
Well, off to get this room picked up a bit. Have a great week, everyone.

Happy Friday! Waving hello to everyone. Not much happening so far but hope to get some artsy something happening later! Nylene- What a fun project for the kids. I would like to see those cute little bookmarkers. I know the school loves having you helping out. How fun for you. Yes, I am still working on my video. I think I have it finished just have to figure a little problem with the music. Then I should be able to publish it this weekend. So excited! Cindy- Hope you are feeling good today. Are you ready for football and the college championship? I am looking forward to seeing it all.

Good Morning Peas! Hope everyone's weekends are off to great start! I am feeling better! My nose finally stopped running so I am on the mend! Have been working out at the local Natatorium riding the recumbent bike! It burns twice as many calories in the same amount of time as walking! So I have been pedaling for 30 minutes then walk laps on the track. Still wearing the heart monitor-till the 15th!
Kelly-I am looking forward to the game Monday and of course I am rooting for the Buckeyes. They are making changes on the Browns already. The offensive coordinator is gone now so the tea,m will have to learn another new system. It is never ending!
Nylene- how sweet of you to supply all those pieces for bookmarks! I know how much time that takes after making things for the kids classes It is fun though and they love it!
Well I need to run-have errands to run, and possibly go to Nat and ride the bike.

Yup How about those Buckeyes!!!! National Champions!!!! Made my day!!!
and now that I got that out of my system I can't wait until Fall for the next season to begin!
I am still wearing the monitor-One More Day then I send it back for the doc to determine what my results are and what to do about me! Sunday this thing alarmed a dozen times! Usually it sends things quietly and I do not even know it but sometimes it sounds like a fax machine. That was Sunday. No matter where I was or who I was with! LOL And it was automatic reports which I did not send but that are sent when things go outside of the parameters set by the doc. I knew I was in a fib all day. I am doing ok though. I will have to wait until I mail this back and then the cardiologist's phone call. My doc told me he has one lady who is in afib all the time and does well with no symptoms. So we shall see!
I have not done any scrapping. I have to tell you that Maggie auditioned for an opportunity to go to a school that puts the emphasis on the arts! She had a very nice letter of recommendation from her art teacher, and one of the examples of her work was her multi-media board of her vacation that she did like the one I made. The people who interviewed her did not know what scrapbooking was so she explained it to them! She also explained how she made the multimedia board.
Well a big hello to one and all andf I will be back later!

Cindy- Congrats for a your OHIO win. That third string QB Cordale was awesome. I can't believe it was only his third start too. Amazing guy! So happy for you and I know you were beaming when they won. They out played the Ducks and deserved the win. Oh and that Ezekiel, "Zeke" was incredible too. Great win! Also, congrats on not having to wear that monitor!!! That must of been a hassle but I hope you continue to feel better. Also again, your gd is really going places. An art focused school sounds just great. That was so funny that she had to school those folks on scrapbooking. LOL! Maybe she should be teaching them a thing or two. Go girl! Nylene- How's it going? I hope you are still enjoying your work with the kids and those bookmarkers. How did they turn out? Waving hi to everyone and have a great afternoon/evening!

Hi, Pokeys! Sorry I've been MIA. Seems like the days are slipping by so quickly. I thought life slowed down after retirement?!?
Cindy, congrats on your your team's win. I'm sure you were jumping up and down. I'm glad your monitor has been removed and hope that they will have good news for you.
Kelly, have you finished your Art Video. Be sure to let us know when you post it.
I just came back from Dermatologist who injected about 20 lesions on my feet. I've been fighting this rash/disease since July and this is one more try to eradicate it. He wanted to inject a spot in my mouth too,but I'm hoping it is getting better. I have dreaded this treatment, but decided it was necessary. I wasn't able to wear shoes all through the Christmas holidays because of the blistered lesions. So having those blistered lesions injected was not at all fun. I'll go back in 2 weeks and may have to have my mouth done then. Yuck!
I'm loving working with my school kids. We haven't made the bookmarks yet because I'm still collecting envelopes. The base of the bookmark is the corner of an envelope. I've just been collecting junk mail envelopes, and used envelopes from Christmas cards. I have almost enough and hope to take them in tomorrow.
Not much else scrappy going on here. I still have Christmas stuff up, but am in no hurry to take it down. I love seeing my Christmas Village every day.
I'll try to check in more often. I need to get a package ready to send to Angie's Drew for his B-day next week. I think I'll send DH to mail it so I don't have to walk!!

Today I went to school in slippers! No way I could wear shoes with my tender feet. No one seemed to notice or mind. Kids are so non-judgmental. We started making the bookmarks with our little readers today. They loved them. I'll try to figure a way to post a photo of them. Here's a link to my Pinterest photo. Hopefully that will work. I finished a Disney page last night but want to do a companion page to it. I'll post it when I finish. Have a great day! ETA: the photo from Pinterest is one I pinned, not a photo I took of the ones I made.

Good evening Peas! Sorry I did not make it sooner but I had Bob & Edgar's birthday dinner last night and the kids all day yesterday. I was ready to crawl in bed at 8:30 last night-even though I didn't! Maggie helped me with dinner and she baked and decorated the cake-I took photos so I will try to get it scrapped! Today I went to an olive oil shoppe with Becky. There olive oils are very good and flavors are infused when the olives are pressed. I also got a raspberry balsamic vinegar that is so yummy. It is fabulous on ice cream. I like raspberry vinagrette on a salad with blue cheese, apples, and walnuts! This is so good It will not need sugar added just it and olive oil.
Nylene are your feet feeling any better? I feel so bad for you and what you are going thru! I can't imagine the pain you must be in.
Hi Kelly-yes I was a happy camper when OSU won and even happier when Cardale Jones decided to stay in school rather then go for the money in the NFL. The NFL will be there when he graduates!
A BIG hI TO EVERYONE I will be back later

Cindy, tell Bob belated Happy Birthday. You are so nice to make dinner for everyone. I'm sure you were ready for a rest. Are the kids with you today? We are out of school today but don't have anything really planned. I'd love to sample some of those oil oils and vinaigrettes. What a fun shop.
Thanks for asking about my feet. I got my shoes on to go to a meeting Sat. night, but it rubbed one spot until it bled. I thought I took good care of it, but it was infected by morning. So stayed home from Church yesterday, but had to go to a Court of Honor last night. My 2 young scouts were presented National Medals of Honor for saving our neighbor who was run over by the tractor last summer. I felt like I needed to be there since I nominated them. It was a very nice ceremony and the "victim" and family expressed such love and appreciation for them. I was glad I went even with miserable feet.
Not much going on here. Just taking it easy in slippers. Hope you have a great week, everyone.

Happy Evening ladies! Hope you all are having a nice evening. Our weekend was ok ans we especially enjoyed the football games yesterday. Settle won in an incredible comeback and it was so exciting. This wasn't my team but I still love seeing a great game. It was so funny watching Ron jump around going crazy with joy too. LOL! Now that cracks me up! LOL! Oh, I finally got my video finished. SO I will be posting it tomorrow and will let you all know. FINALLY!!!! LOL! Cindy- Your sweet dgd is such a great girl and helper. She is like a mini-Cindy! :)So happy your dh and dsil had a great birthday celebration. Also, sounds like you had fun at the olive oil place. It is amazing all the ways they have created different kinds. I would of never thought to add it to ice cream. Wow! Are you ready for the super bowl? I am looking forward to it and hope our cable provider doesn't drop the game in the middle of the game again! That was so crazy!!! Nylene- You poor girl! I am sending you some warm sunshine to brighten up your day and I think house slippers everyday might be a new fashion trend! LOL! In fact, mine are so comfortable I almost left home with mine on. Your bookmarkers are sooooo super cute! I know the kids just loved them. I would! I am going over to see your layouts. I hope to get some scrapping started soon. I ordered more pictures from the holidays and plan to use them.

Kelly, my DSIL must have put up some blocking software on my computer. I can't play your video!!!?! I have run into this before, but I didn't care if I couldn't view something, but now I DO care. It may be a while before I can get him to come help me or walk me through unblocking. I know he's trying to protect me from virus, etc. since he's the one who has to clean it up! LOL! He's working long, long hours as they are trying to get a new business started. I don't think he's been home to see his kids go to bed for weeks. As soon as I can, I'll view your Art Show. I'm so glad you got it finished.
Cindy, how are you doing since the monitor came off?
I was able to get shoes on today and my feet are looking much better. Now I have no excuse for not getting my Christmas stuff down, except that I really enjoy it!
I have a couple of layouts to post and will probably do that tomorrow or Monday.
Have a great football weekend, Kelly and Cindy!

Hi ladies! I hope the storms are not too tough for you all on the East. Hang in there and stay warm! We had a nice weekend. I started working on my first 16x20 canvas. It is so fun having this much space to work with. Maybe I will have it done this week. And can't wait to start another one. Also, I have some cards to make and a few layouts to start to craft wise, it should be a busy week. Nylene- Oh, I hope you can see it. Have you tried going to the Youtube site? Here is the link. Maybe this will work. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVyiep3redY&x-yt-ts=1421914688&x-yt-cl=84503534How are you feeling? I hope your grands are helping you out until your feet feel better. Cindy- Hey there! The big game is this week and I am ready for it. All this football "deflate-gate" business is a trip. I wonder if we will ever find out what really happened.
