OK, I'll play. We go to a house party every year. The kids are allowed to shoot silly string in the rec room at midnight. My kids look forward to it all year. I think it takes our friends most of the year to get the silly string out of their carpet! Sadly this year DD got sick partway through the night and DH left early to take her home, so no family photo ringing in the new year.

We always go and watch the last sunset of the year at our local beach. Then, we went to a friends to have a low-key evening playing board games and sitting around the fire pit. Happy New Year!

No pics. DH didn't feel well and went to bed early. The teen was too preoccupied to do anything with me, and I conked out shortly after midnight. Today I spent taking DH to the ER. So far 2015 kind of sucks.

I'm sorry, Anita. I hope everything resolves itself quickly. Hugs! Aw, thanks. I was just hoping for a fresh start since we just went through two surgeries in six weeks with DH in Nov/Dec. I want a healthy year in my house, darnit!

whirledpeas, your photos are amazing!! We went to our friends' house, and had the party in their pool house. The kids swam, the adults ate and drank! This was early in the proceedings, a bit after 7pm: This is the same scene but later that night at about 11pm: My friend whose house it is has a 17yo DD, the same age as my DD. We figure that this year was probably the last year our girls will spend NYE with us, because next year they will be 18 (adults!) and will be able to go out to night clubs etc. This is me and my DD: I bought a big tube of glow sticks for the kids and I also found these glow balloons which were a bit of fun:
