Made an account to comment on this thread... I GOT THE SAME EMAIL, TOO! Everything reads the same - I think - and the commas, periods outside the parenthesis, etc. EXCEPT the name and the company. See?
Hello, I hope all is well. My name is Michelle- I'm the staffing manager here at Centra Financial. I've reviewed your experience, and you may be a good fit for our full time administrative staff. Everything looks good, however I will need you to send me your resume in linear-executive format (company requirement for new hires). Please re-send me your resume in the correct format, along with the first date you can begin so we can move forward.
If you are unfamiliar with a linear-executive format, I'd recommend finding a template, or a quick resume builder online (I know ExecutiveFormats.com or ResumeEdge should support the format).
Please email me if you have any questions.
Best,
Michelle Keeler Staffing Coordinator Centra Financial Corporation™ LLC Equipment Leasing Made Simple
Anyways, I did find a website... But it was for Centra Financial GROUP, not Corporation. And it's located in a different state. And it was for financial planning, not 'Equipment Leasing Made Simple.'
Anyways #2, I responded to the posting on Craigslist. And now I'm really nervous.

so it's obviously a scam, but to what end? to get $3 from people buying a template? oh wait, I think I just got it- they enter their financial info to buy the template, and THEN the scammers have you. yikes. :/ glad at least people are finding out about it! stick around and check the place out, you might like it.

I've been looking for a job for the last 6 months, put my resume out through a company that posts it far and wide for a fee, and I've been an email target for scammers ever since. I receive 50 - 350 emails each day. I've stopped trying to unsubscribe, because that results in more emails. I block them instead. It is really disheartening that scammers target people who are clearly down and out, scraping for a job. I'm trying to get a job after 18 years of being a SAHM, my DH is still our breadwinner, so am not desperate. Just ready to rejoin the workforce. Still, it is horrible that these predators target people who can not afford to be scammed. I hope there is a special circle of hell, just for them. Ugh. Sorry to hear that. I agree I hope there's a special hell for these horrible people.
I'm just glad at least a few people found this place first before buying into that!!

Hey, we're getting new members, not previously associated with 2Peas (I'm guessing)! Stick around and join in the discussions-it's a great message board.

Registered just to add to this thread, also received this bogus job email, but from a different company. Wording is the same to a tee:
"Hello, I hope all is well. My name is Heather- I'm the staffing manager here at Valiant Media. I've reviewed your experience, and you may be a good fit for our full time administrative staff. Everything looks good, however I will need you to send me your resume in linear-executive format (company requirement for new hires). Please re-send me your resume in the correct format, along with the first date you can begin so we can move forward.

Please email me if you have any questions.
Best,
Heather Preston Staffing Coordinator Valiant Media™ Inc. Brand Awareness Made Simple"
Clearly a SCAM, so beware. Thanks.

Glad we found it is a scam. Those of you who registered to join in, grab a cup of coffee and start reading. We will hook half of you by the end of the day.
Old peas, let's not scare them off. While it is true they could be hinky, my guess is that the email started circulating yesterday or today and thus people started googling. Let's give these people the benefit if the doubt and welcome them. It isn't going to cost us anything .
I don't know anything about indeed, but if the are legit, they would probably like a heads up on this new scam.

I emailed Indeed.com Their website was given to me by the Career Center so they are legit but I guess they can't police everything, scammers sneak in everywhere it seems

Wow I got the same exact email verbatim today but it was from Kathryn for the company BrandVia as well...but it said the position was in DC. Same exact situation led me here...trying to figure out how to create a Linear-Executive resume template. Upon finding this message board I would have to say we were definitely both scammed Welcome new members!!!

To anyone who recieved that email I would report it to Indeed or where ever and then I would report it to my email provider as spam

2peas is the first response to come back when I googled "respond with linear executive resume format like resume edge" I also found another message board where members had posted similar emails to the ones on this thread and decided they were a scam. message board scam thread
Most people forget to cancel these trials, so these people are making $20 a person, not 3. Winogirl and new posters, I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with scammers while job hunting that is incredibly low.

Ok, I just created this account, just to reply to this because I'm pissed off. This is the email I recieved 3 hours ago. Which I thought was weird to start with, because who leaves any office that late to send emails, I don't know, seemed unprofessional to me. I work late in my office, but my hiring managers leave at 5pm. So, na.
Hello, I hope all is well. My name is Theresa- I'm the staffing manager here at the Amazee Labs. I've reviewed your experience, and you may be a good fit for our administrative staff. Everything looks good, however I will need you to send me your resume in sequential format (company requirement for new hires). Please re-send me your resume in the correct format, along with the first date you can begin so we can move forward.
If you are unfamiliar with sequential formatting, I'd recommend finding a template, or a quick resume builder online (I know ExecutiveFormats.com or ResumeEdge should support the format).
Please email me if you have any questions.
Best,
Theresa K. Belmonte Staffing Coordinator Amazee Labs™ LLC Design Inspirations for the Modern Creative
I googled the company, website, and I almost thought it was real, I googled free templates, had a hard time. Anyway, I decided to cut and paste part of her words on this lovely Google search engine we have. and I bump into you guys. and I'm just so ... like pissed about it. I'm tired of recieving these fake a$$ job replies, I'm moving out of state SOON and i'm looking high , and low for jobs, and i'm hit with scams, and marketing jobs calling me as if I applied to them.
This shit is almost discouraging. almost, but if you're like me, you can't afford to be discouraged, so you have to try harder to land the job you need .
fuck scams, this is really fucked up . I mean I kind of felt it was fishy, but I was willing to check it out. whatever, glad I found this thread.
