them!
They taste good-- less acidic than regular oranges. They have bright orange-red juice.

I LOVE BLOOD ORANGES! I stalk produce sections at this time of the year and buy and eat as many as I can. They are the best oranges. Everyone needs to eat them.

Yes! I feel the same way about Meyer lemons. I live on them while they're in season.

I haven't seen any at my grocery store yet. I do hope they get some in because I do like them.

I wish I could. I am allergic to citrus, but it always looks so yummy!

I love blood oranges! My Kroger does not carry them so I have to go to another grocery store (one which I really don't like) and buy them there. If you have never had one, you should try them.

The last I've ever seen them was when we lived in Italy. They were SO sweet! The kids called them the jelly oranges.

I didn't even look at the oranges when I was at the store this week. Didn't even think about them. I'm going to check and see if they have any on my next trip. I love them! I tried them for the first time last year and fell in love! The flavor is like the combination of an orange and raspberries.

I saw your post earlier and then they had them on our salad bar at work! I took a bowlful and can't wait to eat them!

My tree is absolutely loaded with blood oranges. We planted it when DD was about 8, but it really didn't take off until she left for college. I don't like blood oranges and DS is to lazy to pick and cut them for himself. I'm not sure why DH doesn't eat them, I think he's got the same issues as DS. I send a bagful home with DD when she comes over with her family each week, but that's hardly going to make a dent in this year's crop.
Does anyone have any recipes for using them?

I have been eating Cara Caras and blood oranges like crazy for the past week. They are both delicious! I feel like I need to eat more of them before they disappear from the stores.

I saw them at TJ's last yesterday but passed on them, I don't remember them tasting any different from regular oranges. I thought the clementines would be juicer.

Have you ever had Martinelli's sparkling blood orange juice? So good! I found some on sale at Target 2 years ago at the end of the season and decided to try it and loved it. Since then I haven't seen it at any store. I found something similar at Trader Joe's last year but the closest one is an hour away so unless I remember to look for it when I'm there I'm out of luck.

I haven't found any yet but I've been craving some for a month!! I make a blood orange and fennel salad that I top with a crab & cream cheese salad stuffed avocado halve.

Oh Yum! SweetiePie Pea would you post the recipe? I bought some blood oranges at TJoes the other day and they are spectacular. I don't usually buy produce there but these were great.

Shaved thin slices of fennel bulb & a small amount of red onion, top with blood orange supremes layered on a plate. Dress with capers, olive oil and trader joes Muscat orange vinegar.
The avocado halve is stuffed with a mixture of lump Dungeness crab mixed, fresh chopped chives and regular cream cheese (don't use reduced fat, the sweetness competes with the crab meat and it's only about an ounce per serving anyway). Stuff the avocado and place in center of salad.
A little tedious but is so worth it. I used to get it at a local restaurant and recreated it a few times until I got it right.
