we are looking at changing carriers. we have at&t with 3 iphones and pay about $190.00 per month. we are looking to cut our bill and dh saw an ad for sprint cutting your bill in half. I am positive that you are really not going to cut your bill in half by switching to them. but i have to convince dh of that. i told him that i would ask the peas what their plans are like and if you are happy with them. we have iphone 4 's and i am looking to upgrade. it doesn't have to be to the 6 but i do want to upgrade.
what do you pay and how many phones do you have? and where in the usa do you live? are you happy with your plan and your carrier?
thanks, Cindy

Just an FYI - before considering Sprint, ask your local friends and neighbors if they have Sprint and if it works for them in the areas you will need it. Their towers do not have as much coverage as AT&T or Verizon in our area - LOTS of dead spots!

We have Sprint, and there are dead zones. Not nearly as bad as T-Mobile's though.
We have 5 smartphones. 20GB of shared data, unlimited talk and text. We are buying three of our phones on a payment plan, so we pay more, but for just the plan, we pay $230.

We're in the same situation as you. We pay about $190/mo for 3 iPhones w/ 4GB of data on Verizon. I've seen the Sprint commercials and damn they're tempting, but Sprint has terrible service here so it's not even an option for us

Hopefully some international peas will pipe up on this thread just so we can realize just how awful our options are here in the states (or maybe how good?)

We are with AT&T. 5 smartphones, 10G shared data, unlimited talk and text. $200 a month. (We bought our phones outright). I am fairly happy with coverage (I live in southern MO, but we travel a lot) and service.

We have AT&T. We have 2 iPhones with unlimited talk, text and unlimited data for $140. Do I love AT&T? Not at all, but I do love my unlimited data and I will never leave for that simple reason.

I use Straight Talk. I don't want a contract and we only have two smartphones so we pay less than $100 per month (I bought the phones-one is my current phone and one is my old one so it was spread out). Unlimited everything although they will throttle at 2 gb I think (I've never even reached 1 gb in a month though). Each phone is counted separately so even if my kids use a lot of data it doesn't affect my phone's data. Mine uses AT&T towers but there's also a T-Mobile sim available.

I will never switch from Verizon...I have friends with Sprint and AT&T and their service areas are not as good.

We have 2 iPhones with Verizon and we pay $180/mo which is waaay too much but we are lovked in for another year on this plan. I am much happier with their coverage vs Sprint. We had Sprint for 10 years and got nothing for our loyalty - they were jerks. I am happy with Verizon...just need to lower our bill somehow.

I just switched from a pay as you go to a monthly no contract plan. I am with Petrocan Mobility in Ontario. I pay $30/month for unlimited text, 100 minutes anywhere in Canada and 500mb data. It is my first time having data and I thought I used it alot but only used up 17mb in the month. I also only used 15 minutes of my talk time. I used to be with Rogers but didn't like their customer service. Petrocan uses the Rogers' towers so I still get the same coverage.
My husband and sons are also with Petrocan on their own plans because I don't think there is any bundling. But they get a $100 pay as you go for the year and that is enough for them. They aren't big talkers. They get unlimited incoming texts and 15 cent outgoing texts and 25 cents a minute calls. It works out to $8 a month for them this way.

Hopefully some international peas will pipe up on this thread just so we can realize just how awful our options are here in the states (or maybe how good?) I'm in Canada. DH and I are with Koodo - I started out with a simple $25/month plan, and when DH got his phone it had moved to $30/month. 100 minutes of talk and unlimited text. Then I smashed my cell phone, and upgraded to an iPhone (just a 5c). DH is still on a $30/month plan, and with my phone I now pay $45/month for 300mb data, and the same talk/text, plus $5/month towards the phone cost. So ti works out to $83.62/month after taxes. My girls are with Virgin mobile. They both have iPhones (4 & 5). Older DD is more frugal, so her plan is cheaper(less data). They pay about $115/month after taxes. I no longer pay their plan - that ended when they upgraded to smart phones and had jobs. We will be adding DS to our plan in September - he starts high school (grade 9) and will get a cell phone. Grade 9 was our rule. Simple phone, with the same plan DH is on, with NO data - we will block it from the provider end so we don't have a mega bill.

We have 3 smartphones and pay about $164 a month. DS is on our plan and reimburses us for his share so it's about $100 for DH and me. Verizon has the best coverage and we never have dropped calls. Now, I've heard that El Dorado Hills has poor reception so when we move up there in 2-4 years we may change. But I rarely talk on my phone ~ we have a land line and I prefer to talk on it. DH uses his cell a lot more because his number is on his business card.

I use MetroPCS, 40 bucks a month, 1gb of data. I have wifi at home and work so it's easy to stay under that, with unlimited talk and text.

Well we went to the AT&T store and upgraded our phones. I got an iPhone 5s, ds got a lgg3 and dh kept his iPhone 4. Ds wanted to change to an android phone and all of his friends have that one. We found out that between dh and me we use less than 1 gb of data (way less) and ds uses about 1.5 gigs per month.
We changed to 3 gb plan which rolls over our unused minutes every month. Because dh kept his phone, our bill went down to 145.00 per month. I was worried about the drop calls too. I think we did pretty good.
