progressing?
I realized how dull my life is some days, when I found my self filming a close up of my hands, peeling an orange.
But on the whole, it's been fun so far. Today, I filmed a mouse trapped in my light fixture at work, and the fellows in the office trying to capture him in a giant trash can. (it didn't work-- the little mouse escaped...).
I feel like I'm looking at my life a bit differently. Recognizing 'moments' that are memorable.

I'm trying to do that too.. If I have to remember one moment from today, what is it? And, since it's MY life, I'm trying to make sure I'm actually in some of the clips, instead of behind the camera as per usual.
I've only missed one day so far, but I'm trying. At the end of the year we'll have to have a giant share thread, so we can see everyone's.

Mine are ordinary, mundane moments, but that's my life. No picturesque beautiful scenery. No airplanes. No shots of my feet walking somewhere exotic. So far I have stuff like my cat sleeping in bed... big sister reading to little sisters.. the girls playing with blocks... me pouring coffee... my mom's new cats playing... the baby laughing. Stuff like that.

I can't wait to see all your videos. I barely take pictures anymore, I know I wouldn't video.

I'm doing well except I took 1 days video on my camera and not my phone and I haven't found any way to transfer it yet. It's not the same size as my phone screen so it will not transfer.

This year I have too much going on. I have like 5 snippets a day that I all like. Being busy is fun. Do we want to share after 1 month or wait for the whole year?

I'm doing a picture a day, not video. I've missed just one day. Mine are super boring - many of them are the dog, the husband, things around the house. and such. Today's was a picture of a tub of macadamia nut shortbread cookies my boss brought back from Maui for my DH (his favourite cookies).

I already posted about Week One videos on an earlier thread. Since then I've done: 8th - train pulling into the station (I had to catch a train to work because my car was in for repairs) 9th - DS and his mate playing cricket in the backyard 10th - watching an exciting cricket match on TV, complete will yells of excitement / water balloon fight 11th - DS, niece and nephew playing with their dog 12th - DS doing parkour 13th - ducks in the pond at dad's house 14th - DD cooking dinner 15th - family eating Maccas 16th - baking "Brookies" with my niece 17th - me at the hairdresser 18th - DD buying back-to-school supplies at Officeworks 19th - me having a coffee 20th - BBQ at my dad's house So as you can see, there is nothing very exciting, just snippets of everyday life. But that's what it is all about isn't it? I have decided not to use the app as it is not as flexible as I would like it to be. I have put together the first week's worth of videos using ---- I can't remember! Whatever software I had on my computer - Windows Movie Maker I think. The snippets are 2 seconds rather than 1 second, I just personally preferred that. I think it would be fun to share what we have put together after the first month. I'd love to see everyone else's.

I quit. I just can't remember to do it after taking pics. I'm going to save this project for a vacation. I think it's asking too much of my friends to video tape them after taking pictures.

I'm doing the picture a day too.. I'm so boring that most days I'm struggling to find a picture worthy moment. Saturday it was my cat's butthole because it's always in my face, and today it was the smog n go logo....guess what I did today?

I haven't worried about it being picture or video 'worthy' just apart of my everyday experience. One of the days we had super big wind gusts so my video is my neighbors holiday lights blowing in the wind. Yes that was the highlight of my day lol. The point for me wasn't to capture excitement or manufactured moments but to capture the actual everyday stuff. It doesn't matter if it's too boring since its for me. I'm not even sure that I'll show anyone.

I'm still at it. I'm frustrated that my family hasn't really bought into the idea, but my teenagers are humoring me. DH not so much. I'm wondering if I'll even be in it at this point. But that's ok, since this will be from my perspective, I guess.

I haven't done one per day since I'm doing longer snippets (say 2-3 seconds or so each) but so far I have the balloon drop we do at midnight on New Year's Eve, my son playing hockey, all of us skating on the creek behind our house that froze over last week, the cats wrestling, me going for a run in the snow, the kids and their dad playing Trivia Crack (the refupeas got us hooked on that one).
I am trying to be mindful of taking varying videos for my winter montage. Last year's video, everything from Jan through early March was skating: hockey, outdoor skating, indoor public skating, my daughter's figure skating lesson, etc. It makes us look like all we do is skate! Which is totally not true. Trying to keep some variety in it this year.
