So this year I have decided to use my stash and really cut my spending - for a variety of reasons - but mainly to save money and to use up what I already have. I am pretty good with not buying as I have a ton of paper, embellishments, letter stickers, etc. However, I still find myself tempted by stamps. I think I figure "Well I can use those over and over again" but I already have a bunch and many not used or used just once. So what are you always tempted buy when you are trying to spend less?

Paper! It's always paper for me. I just love beautiful paper... I don't want to tell anyone how much BG paper is currently in my cart...but hey, I haven't clicked BUY yet. I see your point about justifying the purchase of stamps because they get reused a lot, especially certain images or phrases.

Paper and punches. Always. I am better with paper now that Archivers is gone. I could easily buy three lines a week there. If I can't touch it, I am less likely to buy it.

Paper, punches and stickers-the real cool, 3 D embellie stickers. I thought I'd love stamps. I have alot of stamps. I not a stamper. I haven't touched them in 2 years. I think I might clear the stamp space and give the stamps away.

I am finally getting to where I don't have to buy paper but if you came in my scrap room, you would know it is my first love

Anything I could use for whatever project I'm *thinking* about at the moment but probably won't get around to scrapping for months or even years. BUT!!! I am inching closer to the point where I'll be able to start working on stuff whenever I want to, so I'm hoping I'll finally be able to make a dent in my scrapping backlog this year! Having my studio DONE is going to be a beautiful thing.

It used to be paper. I could not resist it. After a while I started to feel overwhelmed when I needed to look through it to find paper to scrap with. I decided to cut back on buying and was mostly frozen for about a year. I did a few vacation albums and many, many layouts and felt that even though I didn't make a dent in my paper stash I started to run low on embellishments. So now I'm more drawn to embellishments even though I do not buy as often as I did when I started hoarding paper.

Dies.....my latest downfall.
Alpha, shapes, words, frames, arrows, glasses....they get used for my cards but lately I have been using them on my layouts

My latest love has been embellishment packs, especially die cut packs and sticker sheets. I've been trying to make a conscious effort to use up some of the older embellishments in my stash before I add any more but I have a very full cart just waiting for me to hit buy...

Paper used to be my weakness. I don't even go down that isle anymore. I love stamps, but never seem to use them. I love, love, love dies. I still buy them every now and then.

For me it is paper pads, especially 6x6 ones. I have never met one that I didn't like!
After that it would be Memory Box dies and enamel dots.

Paper ! I have tons and tons of paper and have told myself I can't buy anymore. I was looking around my stuff the other day and realized I have 4 or 5 shades of the same color. It will take a very long time to run out of paper..lol

I'm much much better now but my weakness is letter stickers & thickers. It feels like I have millions of letters. It just really stinks when I can't find something that will work just right with my project even though I have a boat load of options.
What helps me is to make deals or to challenge myself. For example a few years ago I did a lot of purging and was down to just getting the paper I liked enough to keep but didn't love enough to use up yet. So I challenged myself to make 20 layouts using only those papers and what ever didn't make the cut, got cut and donated to my teacher friends.

I am pretty sure I have a lifetime supply of enamel dots. I can't resist them!
Thickers are another one. I have a Cricut and QuicKutz to make my own letters, but I still love Thickers.

cardstock is my weakness - and it's so easy to justify because it's a staple and I'll always use it...

Thickers and any kind of letter stickers at all…….I can't resist!! I am just avoiding Tuesday morning. I cannot NOT buy $2 thickers Yep, this is me. There is a TM by my chiro, who I go to once a month. It takes everything I have to turn right (towards my house) rather than left (towards TM) after my appt, but I've been good the last couple of times. Tm is the only place I'll by Thickers anymore. But my letter storage is busting at the seams so I do.not.need.any.more!!! Don't ask me about my SC purchases though... oy...

"So what are you always tempted buy when you are trying to spend less?"
It seems the second I decide not to buy scrappy things, I find a huge clearance section of scrappy goodness at M's or WM. Never fails.
That's why last night I bought 8 Studio G 20 count mini paper flower packs, at 50 cents a pack at WM. Did I need them? No, but definitely want. And For four bucks, what the heck.
Sadly, M's was closed by the time I got there after work.
And definitely stamps. I love them. Especially any stamp that I can use as a journaling spot. Or that has a camera image. Love those. Or any phrases that can bu punched out with on of my circle punches to be made into an embellishment.

Enamel brads always seem to lure me in.
And those dollar alphabet stamp sets at the big box stores! How can you go wrong for a buck?

paper is my weakness. It used to be 12x12, but lately it is DCWV paper pads (because they already coordinate) and 6x6 paper pads... I don't buy as much as I used to, mostly because my SB store changed the layout and it seems like they don't carry very many 6x6 pads any more. Also letter stickers, specifically any kind of mini letter stickers. even though I have a typewriter. and tons of mini letter stamps (like, at least 6 of those alphabet stamp sets bought for a buck, lol!)
eta: lately, I've also been sucked in by the cute embellishment sets with vellum shapes, labels, etc. Like the Maggie Holmes set I bought that has something like 72 pieces in?? Problem is, I'm not a 'layer-y' scrapper; I never use any of them on my pages!!
