I bought five packages of Jamberry nail wraps and still haven't tried one. Fail. I got three packages in November and haven't tried them yet. I got 4 packages in December and have only used them once. I think they may be a fail the second time, if I can't figure out how to apply without wrinkles.

Ok I have to ask are these your natural nails because man they look nice. I wish my nails would look that good but they only do when I have gel nails on.

How long does polish last for you? Not sure if it's because I'm a complete klutz, but whenever I polish my nails it lasts maybe a couple of days before it starts chipping/peeling. I've tried different brands from cheap to expensive and the same thing happens. Please say I'm not the only one that doing dishing/cleaning/etc. trashes the pretty polish. How the heck do you get it to stay on your nails, is there a particular top coat I should use? I don't want to go the gel route, I don't have time to go for regular manicures.

You can wear gloves during those tasks, or realize you're going to have to paint your nails frequently. Finding a great base/topcoat combo is something that really varies from person to person, and no one brand is great across the board. You might give one of the newer "gel-like" polishes a try. They cure with natural or artificial light with the use of a special topcoat. I've only tried the Revlon and Sally Hansen ones. Revlon bubbles terribly on me and this was no exception, but I wear-tested it and it lasted 8 days with only one tiny unnoticeable chip--and that was doing all household tasks sans gloves--before I got sick of it and took it off. The SH didn't bubble, but I got chips just like with regular polish. YMMV Another tip is to apply a refresher coat of a non-quick dry topcoat every other day or so to extend the life of your manicure. There are lots of these, some marketed a "manicure extenders". If you try to apply a quick dry TC over a well-dried manicure it will probably end up popping off in sheets, so don't use one of those as a manicure extender. Tl;dr, I know

I will get a couple hours out of most polishes! If I do the whole Zoya system I can get two to three days when I am careful. But one time washing dishes by hand will even ruin that. That's why I mostly do gel nails. I don't like going into the salon either so I bought a light from ebay for around $30. The polishes are a little more expensive but I can generally get a week of wear. And that's a week of me not babying them. I go horseback riding, I wash dishes, I clean with chemicals, etc.

I thought I would give Essie another try bec my DD has had it last for a week on her but I put it on Friday night and my mid Saturday two of my nails on my right hand were already coming off. I didn't wash dishes without gloves and I didn't do anything strenuous with my hands/fingers. I used my same base coat/gelish/ top coat that I always use. I think (for me) Essie just sux.

I get mine done at a salon, Maryland, I don't know if you can buy the OPS gel colors. You can buy OPI gels. You can buy pretty much any brand gel polish on ebay and they aren't horribly expensive. The OPIs I bought were around $12/bottle. I have the exact same problem with Essie. I love the colors! But something about it does not work with my nails. It doesn't apply nicely and if I look at it the wrong way half the polish just falls off my nails. It's very disappointing because I really want to use it. Essie does make some colors in gel, but I haven't been able to find them at a price point I'm happy with yet.

I'm not sure if you're talking to me, but I think I'm the only one who posted my actual hand (and my sister's) rather than a swatch photo from online. If it *is* me, then yes, those are my (and my sister's) nails. I've done acrylic and gel (not polish, actual nails) in the past, but it was mainly because the style then was for a longer nail. I've never had any problem growing mine, but as they get longer they curve a lot, so I ended up with super pointy witch-dagger nails otherwise. I think all the other photos are bloggers and brand ads.

Seche Vite has been miraculous for my at-home manis. Extends them to 7-10 days regardless of polish brand. I am wearing Essie Chinchilly right now topped with Seche Vite, of course.

calgal08 true gel polish needs a light. These newer ones are "gel-like", uses different ingredients.

OPIs Do You Take Lei Away. It's an opaque nude, which I have trouble finding. I love that it doesn't show chips and makes my nails look a bit longer. Not my nails, but this is the color:

I'm having a love/hate relationship with my Seche Vite. I love the fact it dries everything so fast with an amazing shine. But I'm tired if the shrinkage and it completely lifts my nail color off in huge chips (it that makes sense). Also I just finished polishing my nails and when I added my Seche Vite it streaks my color on my nails ...like it takes to color off in streaks. I hope that makes sense too lol.
Any idea on what I can do to fix this issue? Thx!

Also, float a large bead on the nail to avoid streaking the color.

I am wearing those Sally Hansen nail polish stick-on things, lol. My polishes usually only last 2 days. I try to do some kind of crafting every night and usually end up with ink or hot glue on my nails. I have had this stickers on since Thursday and only one got chipped from me picking hot glue off it. Totally surprised me.
All of your polishes look gorgeous!!
