This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Just a quick note to welcome everyone. Steve's off watching the Superbowl and I'm hiding in my scraproom on the opposite end of the house to be as far away from the noise as possible. LOL! Cindy and Kelly, I'm sure you are watching and loving it.
Have a great week!

I am watching Nylene! I was also helping my neighbor with some digi scrapping! It is snowing blue blazes here-we were told to expect 7-10 inches and I know we have had more then 6 so far and it is still coming! Not much else going on here. I did finish the Boston skyline puzzle. I have not started another one yet. Well have a good one!

Cindy, it sounds like you are about snowed in. Will they cancel school for tomorrow? We have no snow and have had 40 degree weather this weekend. Seems strange for February! Enjoy the game and stay nice and warm.

So far the schools are not closed but I would not be surprised if they are closed. I keep checking! LOL I will have the kids all day if they do-unless Becky can't make it to work. I am in the house safe and sound!

Happy February! Oh was that SuperBowl exhausting at the end just when I was hopping we would win. My dh and I are so shocked. Poor Ron was talking in circles. LOL! Ok, we will be alright but wow! Other than that, our weekend was so nice yesterday. We celebrated our anniversary by going to a Latin American museum for a free day. It was nice and then we went for a drive along the coast to our favorite dessert place, Sweet Jill's not far from the museum. Then after that we went to the nearby bay where we had our wedding reception. It was so romantic and we caught the sunset. We even got to hear a fantastic blues band perform near the reception site and they were awesome. I did get lots of pictures and can't wait to scrap some of these pictures. What a great time we had.
Nylene- Thanks for our new thread and glad you got to play in your scraproom.
Cindy- Wow, that snow is really coming down. Stay warm and hope the sun comes soon and warm you all up.

Kelly, congrats on your anniversary. It sounds like you had a great time together. BTW, what scrumptious dessert did you order at your favorite place? Sorry your team didn't win, but it sounds like you made the most of it anyway. We want to see layouts.

Kelly, congrats to Ron on the new job. I hope this one is the one that will be perfect for him and will continue on. As far as scrapping, I'd suggest you use your art as background behind your photos. I love the backgrounds you do behind your faces with all the designs, dots, etc. Maybe that will get your mojo going.
Cindy, any word from the cardiologist? Are you snowed in by now? I can't believe all the snow the northeast is getting. We are very dry here.

We got dug out yesterday and sent the snow to Pat in Vermont! But we are going to get hit tomorrow morning and evening at rush hour! Two storms heading toward us. The evening one is supposed to be the worse of the two! Got out and worked out this afternoon. Had the kids all day yesterday as the schools were closed. No word from the cardiologist yet-although the results are on his desk. Maybe tomorrow. Last time he called me on Wednesday morning. It will be a month tomorrow since I mailed the monitor back. Glad I am not dying
Kelly I am sure you have heard that Josh Gordon was suspended for a year for failing another drug test and that Johnny Football is in treatment. What a bunch! I have been doing some digi for my neighbor so I might have to do some for me now. BBL

Hey all! I waving hi to everyone. My week has been slow but I have enjoyed painting. Nylene, you gave me some great ideas for scrapping so I plan to work on that today. I want to paint some paper and see what happens next. I hope you and Cindy are staying warm. I am sending you both some warm Cali sunshine.
Cindy- Yeah, I heard about your Brown players and I hope they both can get back on track. They said that Josh guy is a very good player. Now that football is over, do you watch any other sport? I love basketball and baseball is growing on me.
Hang in there girls!

Cindy, I can't believe you haven't heard ANYTHING! Sometimes I wonder about the medical community and I used to be a part of it. I hope you are still able to maneuver in all the cold and snow. Are you getting any scrappy time? Take care of yourself!
Kelly, thanks for the warm weather sent this way. It was 65 degrees today. It's feeling like Spring. I have a couple of tulips poking up. Now you know we will get a few more big snowstorms before real winter is over. Glad you are painting. Can't wait to see it.
Better run. I had teacher conferences tonight and last night and only had one parent show up. No wonder the kids are struggling in reading! See you all later. Have a great day tomorrow.

Just checking in to say "hi". I took my Christmas tree down today. I hated to do it. I really loved looking at it, but it IS February! We are in the planning and preparations for our Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. It's always a lot of work, but a lot of fun for the boys. I'll pop back in later in the week.
I hope everyone is well!

I have been having trouble with my Photobucket account and being unable to post from it. This is a test to see if I got it fixed. I think I got it fixed. These are my latest pages. I haven't posted them in the gallery, but just in my photobucket.

Happy Friday! Hope you all are doing well today. Guess what? I finished a layout!!! LOL! Nylene I took your advice to add paint and it turned out so cute. I will share it later. Now I am excited to work on another one. I also have been working on a painting. I really an excited to share with you all. I still get so shocked to see all this art flowing out of me. Nylene- I am smiling about you taking done your Christmas tree because ours is still up! LOL! I sort of like the greenery it is adding to my room. So we will see when I take it down. It is a small one and easy to put away but I guess I am not ready to do so. How is your banquet planning? Your double pager is too cute. I love the bright blues you used to match the color in the pictures. Also the title you create are sooo fantastic. What machine do you use to create them? I just love all these Disney pictures and thanks for taking us on the trip with you through these pictures. I haven't been there in so long and maybe will get there again some day. Cindy- How are ya? Any crafting vibes surrounding you these days?

Thanks, Cindy, for the Valentine's wishes. I'm sending happy vibes for Valentine's Day to everyone too.
It's Em's b-day today so we took her family to lunch. We knew we'd never get in somewhere tonight! It was a fun getaway with their family.
I think we are ready for the Blue and Gold. I'll have food to make, but my boys finished the invitations and we delivered them yesterday.
Kelly, I'm really excited to see your layout with a painted background and to see your canvas art. I'm glad you are still loving it. And by the way, just leave that tree up. I'm missing mine already. My living room looks empty. I think it's the greenery I enjoy too, and the twinkling lights.
Well, I'm making a major dent in my messy scraproom today. I need to get back to it while I'm still in the mood. Have a great day.

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a loving time on Valentine's Day weekend. I made a special card for my dh and he loved it. He brought me some of my fav flowers, hydrangeas. But the poor flowers got too much heat on the way home and got wilted. I read if you add some sugar to the water it should perk them up but no luck. But I did love the thought behind it. I love flowers! We did have a nice time over the weekend. I made a few extra Valentine cards for our parents, too. Omg, I have so much to share with you all, I gotta get going on this! LOL!
I also started on a cleaning frenzy. All this week I plan on getting some real cleaning done around here. I started Sunday night and have been on a roll. Anyone want to come help me out??? LOL! So not sure if I will get play with my crafts until I can get things in order.
Nylene- LOL! I had to giggle about the Christmas tree. I am keeping mine up a little longer and maybe it will come down later this week. How is your planning coming for the banquet?
Cindy- Are you snowed in? This winter has been something else. Hang in there and sending you lots of hot tea.

Good morning! Hope all is well with one and all. Snow snow snow it just keeps on coming and not melting much. Another 1-3 inches for today then the dive into arctic temps. It is warmer in Alaska then it is here. Oh well good old fashioned winter I guess. At least we are not Boston and the NE but they forget how much Buffalo got earlier in the winter.
Nylene-how did you blue and gold dinner go? I assume it was yesterday since that is scout day at your house! I figure it went off well as they always do.
Kelly- I am ready for some sports so will be watching the race this weekend. Baseball will be starting soon-I don;t do basket ball too much.
Not much else going on around here so I will check back later to see how it going.

Hey all! Hope you all had a nice day. Wasn't a good week for me but hope the weekend perks up. Thank goodness for the weekend! Not much else to share today. Cindy- OMG!!! You all are freezing out there. Wow! I am sending you some of our sun and hope the weather gets better soon. What did you decide to do, housework or scrapping? I hope you did the latter. Stay warm girl! Will you and your grandkids be baking anytime? It seems like a fun thing to do when you are snowed in. Just stopping by to wave hi to you all and sending you some sunshine. Our temps have gone up-17 here this morning but expecting snow-3-5 inches today Well I went in the scrap room with really good intentions. There was a software upgrade for the Silhouette and I ended up getting a dmg files which of course my windows software could not open. Spent time trying to figure out what to do with it. Finally went to the Silhouette Americas site and found they ave chat with support who solved my problem so I may get to scrap today while it snows! DMG files are what is used on the Mac computers. There are programs to open it but of course that was more difficult too when you don't know how to use them. Oh well Let it snow!
Kelly-sorry you had a bad week. Hope things get better for you. Thanks for the Sunshine-I will let you know when it arrives!
Nylene-hope you are just busy and nothing wrong. Hope your blue & gold dinner went well. Stop by when you can
BBL!

Hi guys! Sorry to be so absent. This has been a crazy week. Our Blue and Gold banquet went very well. I had 2 boys (and family) not come, but otherwise it was well attended and the boys all seemed to have a great time. I was on my feet from 4 pm until it was over and cleaned up at 8:30 and I really paid for it that night with leg and foot cramps! Glad it's over. I have also been doing some vinyl cutting and other Cricut cutting for a friend's wedding reception last night. They gave me iron-on glitter vinyl for a canvas and for a beautiful ornate mirror. The canvas went well and I really thought I could iron it on the mirror too. Well, word to the wise, don't try to iron on to a mirror. The vinyl went on beautifully, but so did the adhesive surrounding the letters. I almost cried! I used some solvent and CAREFULLY went around each word and in the centers of the letters. It still looked like it had a bit of a white halo right at the edge of each letter, but I did my best. They seemed very happy with it, so maybe I was being too picky. I also did a quote that filled an entire door mirror, but that wasn't the glitter vinyl, just plain vinyl and it went well and looked nice. It took more time than I thought it would, but they are great friends and I was very happy to help. Their reception was beautiful.
I have done some scrapping too. When I'd get uptight working on the other tasks that needed to be done this week, I'd just hide in my scraproom and scrap for an hour or so. I can't believe what a stress-buster it is for me.
Kelly, I hope you have a better week next week. I'm sorry this one was not great for you. Are you still working on pages and backgrounds? Your warm weather sounds wonderful.
Cindy, my dear, are you totally snowed and frozen into your house. I'd curl up and never leave my electric blanket!! I can't believe this strange winter. It has been in the 60's here all week until today. The crocuses, irises, daffodils and tulips are up and thinking it's spring. But it isn't and we are going to get a cold snap. We really need some of your snow so we will have enough water this summer. Utah is the 2nd driest state in the US. We need all that snow we usually get.
Well, sorry this has become so long. That's what happens when I don't check in often enough. LOL!
I'm wishing all the Pokeys a great weekend and next week. I should be near my computer a little more often next week. Have a great one.

Believe it or not -0.6 this morning with a wind chill of minus 25 BRRRRRRRRRR . I will be so glad when this ends! I will have the kids again today-going to try to get Maggie to scrap but not sure she will. The two of them have been using a website called Roblox and I found that things were not going well there. There was one character following Maggie around and calling her Babe so we are blocking that site -it is made to look like it is related to Lego but it is not. I tell you you have to be so careful. Well I hope to scrap my page sometime today.

Cindy, I'd be a Popsicle if I lived at your house. We had a cold snap and the wind was wild for a couple of days. That was miserable enough for me. I'm looking for Spring even though we haven't had much winter. I hope you get some time to scrap. I'm sorry about the video game. I agree that you really have to watch what the kids are playing. Right now my grands all like Minecraft. It's a real time sucker. My DD calls it Crack because it's so addicting.
How are you doing, Kelly?
Hope all the rest of our Pokeys are not freezing in this weird winter. Have a nice day, everyone.
Off to get ready for Cubs.
