When my husband was diagnosed almost 2 years ago with a brain tumor the size of a racquet ball I braced myself for the worst. We had a 8 year old, a daughter who passed away 2 years before and twin boys that were only 4 months old. I hate when people say I'm so strong.....I'm not strong. I just live with what I've been given. BUT....in this case I was strong. I have no clue how I held it together, but I did. And my husband did his part. He made it thru surgery and came home to me and his boys. I didn't care how he came home....he just had to come home. The doctor....who is the most amazing doctor I have ever met in any field...told us that he retrieved all of the tumor. It was 100% removed, and to his shock it was not cancer. He prepared us that we were not to celebrate until his 2 year appointment.
Tomorrow at 10:00AM, my DH will have his 2year MRI. Please say prayers. We aren't done needing him at our home and we want a clear MRI and a evening of celebrating. So please PEAS....say some prayers.
UPDATE 1...... I am in the waiting room as I type. We will have the results read directly after this appointment. And when it is a clear bill of health we will be standing outside in 25* weather grilling steaks for dinner.
Thank you everyone. Keep the thoughts coming!
UPDATE 2..... There will be steaks cooking tonight!!! Thank you for all of the prayers. I bawled like a baby as the doctor told us he was clear and had no regrowth. Chances of it coming back are less than 1%. We have been blessed before, but never has the pure joy of knowing that for today my family is safe and healthy, felt this amazing!
Thank you all!

I'll be praying.
To give you some hope, my aunt had a very large tumor that only 2 surgeons in the whole world would attempt surgery on it. It wasn't cancer, and she's been tumor free for almost 15 years. I remember the 2 year check up being a big deal. My aunt is doing fine. The tumor was near her ear, so she has residual deafness in that ear and some nerve damage, but she's come through with flying colours.
I pray that your husband will get the same great news!

Wow, my name is also Leslie and my husband had his second brain surgery to remove a tumor just over a year and a half ago. His was a meningioma that was non-cancerous, also. He goes in for an MRI next month to see how things look. Good luck to your husband

Wow, two years, no cancer, major milestone that is pretty happy news, I'd say! Congratulations to your husband, you and your family! May you enjoy the next 70 years together and after that we'll play by ear, ok?
Hugs!

I'll be thinking of you and waiting for the update and subsequent celebration! (PS I love your attitude, it says a lot about your character. I think people are always surprised by those who can pull themselves up by the bootstraps and keep trudging along, which sure beats the alternative of wallowing!)
