OK. So I ended up getting four place-settings of sunflower, with luncheon plates in turquoise and then a serving platter in turquoise and the gusto bowl in sunflower. I'll add more in through the years. If I'm not careful, this could end up as a major addiction!
---
My current everyday dishes are almost 20 years old and we're just down to three plates (and there are four of us lol). I've decided to buy Fiestaware to replace my everyday dishes. And yes, this is a total first-world problem, but...did you get all one color or did you mix it up? Any interesting color combinations?
My kitchen doesn't have a color scheme, but yellow is my favorite color, so I want to do something with that. I'm just not sure if I want to go all yellow or get some different colors as accent pieces.
Opinions?

I mixed it all up. Personally, I just liked too many colors to choose just one or two and I like the idea that if I break one, I can just add another color if that one is no longer available and no one would ever know. There were a couple of colors I didn't care for like Flamingo so I just skipped those and bought the colors I liked.

I mixed it up, too. I'm surprised DH went along with it because he's so particular and he likes everything to match.
I have cobalt, peacock, lemongrass, paprika, and some marigold. They all complement each other well.

I mix mine all up also. There are so many ways you can go, you get yellow, blue and green together. I love all of the colors and and use red and turquoise as my accent colors. I have a pitcher and utensil holder in those colors. Of course, watch for sales at Macy and Kohls.

I mix it up. They all kind of go together because they are of the same tone/saturation. I don't even avoid ones that aren't my favorite because they can be someone else's.

I mixed it up - between my initial purchases and gifts I have 8 or 9 colors. It's hard to choose a favorite!

We mixed it up...and I'm thinking of adding another color even though we don't need them.

Alert: Black and Peacock are being discontinued.
(The HLC website has stopped taking orders, but I'm sure retailers are still selling those colors. A new color will probably be announced soonish.)
Me? I used to have more than 20 colors, which I assembled as they were released, but I sold most of them and now concentrate on three colors. I got to the point that the mash of tones (pastels, brights, jewels) was not pleasing to me. The beauty of you starting this late in the game is you have a lot of choices to consider. Research colors and pieces online and then go to a store and play! Keep in mind that you can always buy "open stock" instead of place settings.

While I love the look of Fiestaware, isn't it heavy? I never used my Pfaltzcraft because it was so heavy. I'm afraid to change over to Fiestaware for that reason.

I stick with the blues (peacock, cobalt, turquoise, lapis) and scarlet. I really hope another true red is added this year.
I am not a fan of the new color. Its supposed to be like the vintage red but is a weird orange color.

I mixed it up. I get bored with my dishes very quickly, and having lots of different colors and combinations has helped me a lot with this problem. Every time I eat, the table looks different, and I like that!

I mix colors, but I buy open stock rather than place settings. I have dinner plates in 3 colors, luncheon plates 3 colors, salad plates 3 colors, etc. (and etc., and etc. - I have way too much Fiesta!) A lot of mine has been collected on eBay, and I buy online from Macy's and sometimes direct from HLC. There used to be a great source called Megachina when I first started, but they closed a few years ago. I can't enter a discussion about Fiesta without linking this awesome inspirational blog, www.thelittleroundtable.com/2013/05/turquoise-ribbons.html. The owner passed away recently, but her beautiful collection lives on. Even if you're not into Fiesta, her kitchen and gardens are worth a look.

I don't own Fiestaware (I know, revoke my RefuPea card, if you must. ), but I do have something similar, and I have 3 different coordinating colors. It just makes things more fun!

I buy mine in twos. I usually choose the turquoise or lemongrass for my dh and me at dinner.

Mixes here too. I don't find it too heavy. It's not as heavy as my polish pottery set. I am not a fan of lightweight stuff like Corelle.

(You could kill someone with a Gusto bowl.) yes, it's heavy. more so with some of the platters and serving bowls but they are sturdy. of the HUNDREDS of pieces I own, I have only ever broken one bowl. but it only broke into 3 pieces so I just glued it back together and used it as a cute outdoor planter.

I just started my Fiestaware collection last year & peacock is one of my colors! Guess I'd better add some more pieces!

I mixed it up. Love the rainbows in my cabinets. One combination that I really love is sunflower, tangerine, lemngrass, and turquoise. Have fun picking something out

I mix it up too. I have five different colors (marigold, lemongrass, cobalt, tangerine and scarlett). They all mix nicely together. Although, lemongrass is my favorite.

Mix it.
I just realized some of my Fiesta is 20 years old! It doesn't look as shiny as the new stuff I get - but it is DURABLE!
