While I have used the Fiskars SureCut Deluxe for years (preceded by an older Fiskars model), I only scrap at home, cut textured cardstock & an occasional photo, & am considering a more substantial & accurate trimmer. Please recommend a non-guillotine trimmer with at least a 12" base, 1/16" gridlines, a paper guard (to secure the paper/photos without fingerprints/smudges), ability to cut 12" in both directions & stop mid-cut, etc. Photos & links welcome. TIA.

I love my Gensis. It is expensive. If you're interested put your name on a waiting list. Bonnie is wonderful. Someone will call you before they charge your card and ship the cutter.
I have the 16" with Edgelight. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

That Genesis looks gorgeous. I saw it for $390. Is there anywhere that might have a better deal, or is it just one of those products that is pretty hard to get a hold of and can charge the price they want?

My friend makes hundreds of kits a year. She uses the Purple Cow (Costco) and loves it. I have purchased the Making Memories one and another guillotine type one and they were just okay.

Bonnie bought the company that makes Genesis. As far as I know she is the only one that sells it. I've had mine for years. I absolutely recommend it. If I wouldn't of purchased it I would of spent that much on other trimmers and then bought it.
I haven't had to replace a blade.

Thanks for your replies. I've considered the Genesis for at least a decade. Every time I decide to stop debating & just buy it, the 16" with edgelight is out-of-stock!
Any other suggestions, while I continue to ponder the Genesis (& wish there was an estimated date of availability on the website)...

Put your name on the waiting list. Bonnie will contact you. Then you can decide if you want it or not. Get on it!!! You will not regret it.

I have a Genesis it does not have a paper guard like you want. It is my one small complaint about it. I use a ruler when I think about it. I do love everything else about it though

That's what it is called....the paper guard. I bought it and don't use it because the paper lines up so nicely it isn't needed.

I have considered putting my name on this waiting list and paying a fortune to have this shipped to me when my name comes up; unfortunately a paper guard is essential for me and I obviously focussed so hard on the desirable aspects of this trimmer I overlooked the lack of a guard! Oh well. OP: my Fiskars rotary Procision (sp) is, I believe, the next best thing. I like it a lot and have thrown out / donated a few trimmers in my time.

My son learned how to use a paper trimmer from an early age. He needed to borrow my mobile one I take to scrapbook out of the house-up to his bedroom. Well wouldn't you know it but the same trimmer now resides in his apartment in Vancouver. About 4 hours away. Funny how a trimmer sprouted wings and flew away like that.
All the more reason to go buy another portable one, right?

Hi, I bought my genesis trimmer from Bonnie probably in 2007 or 2008 after being on the list. I don't use it and want to sell it, if anyone is interested. I'm asking $300 which includes shipping. It's the 16 inch with a light. Thanks. And its still available June 2018.
