Has anyone here been on the Carnival Breeze Western Caribbean cruise? Good, bad, ugly? I'm already checking out Cruise Critic but thought I would ask here too

Dh and I did the Carnival Ecstasy to the Bahamas...and I would not do a Carnival Cruise again. To me, the food was simply awful...just really cheap tasting. Well, the omelet bar wasn't too bad. Even the dining room instead of the buffet wasn't that great. The highlight was collecting the special shot glass they sold each night.
Now, I few years ago I went on a Princess Cruise of the Mediterranean...and LOVED the experience. The food was perfect, the excursions were wonderful..I would do Princess again.
BUT at each port with Carnival, I saw a Disney ship there...I'm thinking that will probably be the next one I'll try out.

mjmone - thanks! We did RCCL Enchantment of the Seas last year, but Royal's price for a comparable cruise is $1k more than Carnival's price. Decisions, decisions.
Anaterra - thank you! We've found the roll call on Cruise Critic, which is what we participated in last year. We've heard great things about the ship, so I appreciate your feedback.

I have not been on a cruise, but have close friends who frequently cruise. They tell me that you get what you pay for... and they won't touch Carnival Lines if it was the last cruise line on earth. Just based on their knowledge, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. They love Disney Cruise Lines... and have almost convinced me to go with them (I'm not sold on cruising).

While I haven't been on the Breeze, I've been on several Carnival cruises as well as most of the other popular lines and I haven't had any issues with Carnival. I just stick to the newer, larger Carnival ships.
The food in the dining room has always been excellent. I'm not a fan of their breakfast buffet (or any breakfast buffet, for that matter), but the rest of the food? Yum!

We did do RCCL last year and honestly, we weren't very impressed with their ship either. The best part was our aft balcony. The ship didn't have the best amenities or kids activities. We are not Disney fans at all, so a Disney cruise doesn't even sound appealing (I know, we're weird). You should really go, though! Cruising is fun

We won't be doing any buffets (DS has Celiac disease, so all meals will be in the main dining room and special made for him...we've already talked to their dining department about it), so no worries about how it tastes. This ship is big and was built in 2012, so one of the newest they have
