I've had Prime for a few years now. Just placed an order today that has guaranteed delivery on this Sunday this 22nd. Is this new? I don't even remember seeing that over the holidays. I'm hoping what it really means is that it'll get here tomorrow

It depends on where you live - in some places, they are doing Sunday delivery now. I received a package this past Sunday. I was surprised since I had just ordered it the day before!!

Yes. It's done through the post office. My dh has been delivering Amazon packages for months. During the holidays he was working seven days every week for way too long. Not a fan. I don't think people need sunday delivery but that is just me.

They are contracting with usps in our area to provide the Sunday delivery. I started seeing the trucks in Nov or Dec. Weird to see the usps trucks on that day!

The last time I ordered something (about ten days ago) I was given the option to have Sunday delivery, but I had to actively check a box to get it. I declined, it wasn't that important to make someone deliver on a Sunday.

They've been doing Sunday deliveries in the UK for several months now. I've noticed with my orders that it only applies to certain (random) items, probably ones that are in the warehouse 30 miles from here.

Crazy, right??? USPS delivered a video game for my son last Sunday morning before 9am! I was expecting UPS or Fed-Ex.

I've gotten a few things on a Sunday. Last week in fact, I received my order or True Lemon peach lemonade. I actually did NOT want or need them on a Sunday. I feel bad that people deliver my packages to me on that day. But there was no way of selecting another day. I could have paid $3.99 for next day (Sat) delivery or was guaranteed free Sunday delivery. I wanted a box to check "Monday is ok for me!" but it wasn't an option.

I also don't need Sunday deliveries, but they aren't offered in my area anyway. My shipping address is work, and I don't work Saturday or Sunday. I wish I could select a button for "delivery next business day" to avoid weekends.

I'll be the voice of dissent. While I wouldn't pay extra for delivery on Sunday, it's something that Amazon offers and if that's the delivery day that my shipment falls on, then that's when it falls (I usually take the No Rush shipping to get the $1 digital credit). It seems to me that while the employees may not like it, it's a contract that the post office and Amazon brokered and it's to both of their benefit. In fact, I believe I read that the post office was going to be doing Sunday deliveries for other companies too, so it sounds like it's something that the post office is initiating to increase their profit (which means jobs).
For some people - who work during the week - the weekend is the best day to receive large packages because they are home and aren't sitting out on their porch unprotected from theft and weather all day long.
Like I said, I don't request it, but I don't feel any worse for the mail carrier who has to work on Sunday than I do for every other industry that doesn't operate on a 9-5, Monday through Friday type of job.

They just expanded this service to my area in January. I have gotten some packages on Sunday now, and it is really nice. I apologized to my USPS carrier that he had to work on Sunday as I really didn't need my package, and he said that he loves it because it's job security.

Supposedly yes. I did get one package on a Sunday but the last three months not one package has. Been delivered on its guaranteed delivery day. Not one. Basically paying to get guaranteed two day shipping and it does not count. Yes I will be walking away from prime.

I had one the other day and it surprised me. But it was definitely UPS, not the post office,.

Yes! We did get one Sunday delivery. My 10 yr old was confident that it was for real and they did "deliver" on their promise. He was super excited because it was a Lego set.

Again my only issue is that they are working people seven days straight for weeks. Because they won't use regular carriers for the sunday and holiday deliveries because it costs them too much. So the peons like my dh get screwed. I just don't think it is necessary. It could wait until Monday. But that's just me. It's amazing how they went from wanting a five day delivery week to now delivering on sundays and holidays. And my dh didn't have it like this when he "signed" up for the job. So he might have made a different choice then. When it affects your family you tend to see it differently.

While it doesn't bother me that Sunday delivery exists, it's certainly not something that I was expecting.
And the funny thing is, the order that's supposed to get here tomorrow hasn't even shipped out yet! I have two other things coming Tuesday and they're already on the way. Go figure.

My dd ordered a couple of books on a Friday. We were surprised that the delivery date said Sunday. Neither of us believed it, but Sunday after church, the books were in our mailbox. I wondered when they had started that.

They have been doing it here for a few years now. DH ordered severL things for Christmas two years ago that arrived on Sunday. I agree most of the time I really don't care but sometimes it sure is nice.

I started getting Sunday packages around Christmas. I wish there was a way to opt out and get it on Monday, but it seems that if the 2nd day is a Sunday, you get it then, or you get it like Wednesday or Thursday (the end of "regular shipping" window). I don't need my packages on Sunday, usually. It sits with me wrong, though I can't explain why.

Amazon has had Sunday deliveries in the UK for a while now, in fact we are expecting some tomorrow. They use a courier service and I was told by one of courier employees that they still work the same hours a week - if they are scheduled for weekend working they get time off during the week. Sunday delivery definitely has benefits round here.....more people are at home, and that means I don't take as many parcels in for neighbours during the week because they haven't been in to receive them!!

we have had amazon packages delivered by the post office on sunday....I was waiting for one before Christmas, checked the tracking and it said delivered - first thought was it didn't come yesterday....then realized the date - looked outside the front door and there it was.
