I'm delighted to see so many Peas find their way here. With over 1200 members in 24 hours it is obvious what a huge loss the Pod was.
I admit I am slightly nervous about what I have taken on in the rush to find us a new home, but I really hope this becomes a thriving forum.
One hot topic is whether we should have separate boards for different topics, such as politics. As things stand at the moment I am of the opinion that the beauty of the old NSBR was its diversity, and I want to retain that rather than start subdividing the community into categories. Plus the forum has several useful features that the Pod didn't (many of which I'm not familiar with myself yet) that I think will help us all have a great experience here. All that said, by popular request I have created a Recipes board. As this is more an information resource than a discussion board I am convinced it will be a useful addition.
The other immediate issue is moderation / rules. Rules are minimal - threats, persistent harassment, or posting of other people's personal info will not be tolerated. Obvious spam will be deleted. I am unable to read every post on the board myself so am reliant on you as users using the facility to flag inappropriate posts. I am hopeful that there will be little moderation required and I will therefore be able to manage it myself, but if the burden becomes too great I will look to add other users as moderators.
Like most of you here I am entirely new to Proboards, and still figuring out exactly how things work, so please bear with me if a few settings change over the next week or so.
Most of all, thanks for being here, get stuck in, and enjoy
Thank you for setting this up and for your patience with what must be a little overwhelming. Hopefully users here will self-moderate and respect your boundaries as a non-paid volunteer who doesn't need to deal with drama/unending requests!
Thank you for doing this! I'm sure it is a bit of an undertaking and I would be nervous as well. But I think there are a great group of people here and most of us can appreciate that we will have differing opinions and will respect that and each other.

Thank you for building us a new home! I agree that there really is no need for a zillion separate or sub boards. I don't think there is really a need for a General and NSBR board since they're kind of the same thing (?)
Ditto everyone else! Thanks for doing this. I would probably go ahead and set up at least one other person as an admin. Then there would be someone else to handle things if needed if you go on vacation or decide to take a break from the boards. Whatever you decide is fine though. Just trying to think of the hassle for you doing it all. Of course, hopefully there will not be much to have to worry about.
