I'm just watching New in Town and really enjoying it, and love the all the scrapbooking references. What other films have you seen with a bit of scrapping in it? I think Ben Stiller's foreskin features in a scrapbook in Meet the Fockers

Ok, so it's not actually scrapbooking, but I love it when the terminally ill Susan Sarandon makes her kids the photo quilt in Stepmom. I cry like a baby at that part. I am thinking of trying to make one for my mom's milestone birthday next year.

It's mentioned in an older Robert Downey Jr. flick. Your post reminded me that I had a draft of a blog post about it that I never published ( until today, ha!). I also wrote a post back in 2009 about New in Town. I went to the movies to see it specifically because I heard it had a scrapbooker in it

There are several I'm trying to think of (I got a huge Kick out of New in Town) but the big one of course is Divine Secrets of theme Ya-Ya Sisterhood. I remember when I first came to the original board everyone had "ya-ya names" that they put in their signatures.

In season 3 or 4 of weeds, Celia Hodes is forced to spy on Nancy by the DEA to gain info about Guillermo. One of his men catches her outside of the warehouse where they are meeting and drags her in. Guillermo starts asking her who she is and why she's taking pictures outside of them, and puts a gun in her mouth. She panics, and says the first thing that comes to her, "I was scrapbooking!" I laugh and laugh every time I see that scene. I just love it.

The other references posted so far are unfamiliar to me. I'll need to check them out, thanks.

I watched the first couple of seasons way back when, but must have stopped before that episode - hysterical I loved the scrapbooking references in New in Town. My favorite scrapbooking reference was when Richard Belzer played his Detective John Munch character on Arrested Development and goes undercover teaching a scrapbooking class. It is funny on its own, but even funnier if you have seen the character in one of the many other shows (Law & Order, The Wire, etc.)

Is it any good, scrapbooking references aside?
