I don't really think there's anything telepathic about sending the same card two times. If you buy cards, there are only certain cards in the selection of the time you go to choose. If they tend like the same kind of cards like funny cards or floral or whatever that makes the odds of choosing the same card even more likely. When my dad died I received the same card from three people and another card from two people. Nothing telepathic, it's just the selection available at that time.
Now, if you told me that they made the cards and they were similar, that would be a whole different thing.
Brw my mother has a twin sister. And I have twin siblings. While I have other siblings, I was only one living in the home as the twins grew up. But they were a boy and girl, and my sister was severely at damaged birth. So I cannot attest to the feeling left out part. I was very involved in the care of both of them in order to help my mother. And they were seven years younger than IM so this social interaction is kind of limited.

I have 24yo twin DDs. No, I have never noticed anything telepathic-like in their behavior/relationship. They don't finish each other's sentences. They don't buy the same clothes even though they look exactly alike and wear the same size and all that. They are very independent of each other but would probably consider each other best friends...if that makes sense.
We also have two singleton sons. They have never indicated feeling left out but our kids are all seven years apart so 9, 16, 24 and 24 so I'm sure that has more to do with it than anything else.

My mom was a twin and they were very close all through their lives. They even lived together again after they were both retired and my mom was widowed. Even though they weren't identical twins, they often wore matching clothes when they were younger but I think that was more of a thing then. They really did compensate for each other in their later years. They were so interdependent that I'm very sure when my aunt died my mom missed her even more than my dad when he passed away, and they had been married for over 35 years. If I recall correctly, there were several times over the years where they sent/gave EACH OTHER the exact same birthday card! It was pretty funny.

My mom and her identical twin live over 1,000 miles apart. They constantly mailed the same b-day card to my grandmother. They always got kidney stones at the same time and other ailments, they say the same thing at the same time, and they still dress alike. Yes, they buy two of everything and mail it to the other, and when they vacation together, they select their wardrobe. It's quite funny.
Now my identical triplets can talk without saying anything to each other. They say the same thing at the same time but their tastes and styles are VERY different so they don't dress alike or buy the same things. We encouraged their individuality when they were small because even though they are identical, God made them each different in some way.

Friends used to ask me when mine were little (twins) how I did it. My running joke was I prayed every morning and thanked the lord that they were not triplets!! I bet you had fun.

My b/g twins are not dependent on one another. However, they have a connection that only they understand. They have a protective bond over each other when it comes to other people but they can fight like cats and dogs with each other. They have a way of communicating without anyone else knowing what they are saying. That started when they were infants. We've always been fascinated by it as well as confused!

I work with a young woman who is a twin, they live in different states. I have noticed that if they are on the outs with one another, she is in a crappy mood. they also seem to know what the other is thinking.
And my mother was a twin. Her twin was killed in an accident when they were about 5. My grandmother always said that it was like there was a piece of my mom that was gone after her sister died. I have always wondered if that loss affected how my mother behaved, and the depression and addiction she suffered from as an adult were caused in part by that loss.
There is some kind of a connection, and I think researchers are just beginning to unlock what it might be.

My girls are fraternal, but when they were toddlers they would talk to each other in their own language. Now that they are 12, they still say the same thing at the same time. Sometimes I can see them looking at each other like they could be reading each other's minds. They say they don't, but they get this look that sure makes me wonder! I don't think it would be as strong if they weren't together all the time though.

my twins are fraternal and I used to be mad when people thought they looked alike...which they didn't. different everything. one has autism and they shared a room til 18...hated it. now one lives across the world and it is ok for both of them. they really have nothing in common. they never finished each other sentences or anything like that.

My 12yo twin sons are fraternal, but they look much more like each other than their older brother (who is 15). There have been several times through the years that I couldn't tell them apart in photos or even in real life (mostly from behind). On the phone it usually takes me a few seconds to tell which one of them I am talking to. They have very different personalities - one is more quiet, reserved, thinks things through before speaking. The other has no filter and doesn't know a stranger. It's almost like they are the two extremes of DS1's personality. He is their middle ground. They do sometimes say the same thing at the same time or finish each other's sentences. (But I work with my sister and we sometimes do this, too! She's almost 7 yrs older than me.) And as much as they fight and argue, they are still best friends. I hope that doesn't ever change. Here's the most current pic of my boys (with Chandler Riggs!). They pick out their own clothes, but end up dressing similar a lot. Attachments:

See my husband prayed we would NOT have twins because we have so many in my family. So, it's his fault we had triplets. LOL! Everyone else had twins including my sister. And yes, we are still having fun. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Sometimes I wish they were still about 3 years old. It went by way too fast!
