On the I have never thread, someone said they'd never won anything. I've been pretty lucky with winning things over the years (no big lottery yet though).
The first thing I ever won was a guess how many jelly beans in the jar. I was babysitting and had taken the kids to the rec center pool and was ready to leave my prize behind because we were on bikes, but the kids weren't going to let that to happen. I lugged the jelly beans 3 miles back to their house, left half there and took the rest home. IIRC it was around 3,000 jelly beans.
What fun and exciting things have you won over the years?

When I was 6 or 7 my aunt took me to the movies. They had this tank full of water on the counter that had different stands and obstacles in it. You put a quarter in and if it landed on a certain space in the water tank you won prizes. My first quarter landed on the stand that got you two free movie tickets.

Yep. I have a talent for winning things. I've won candy counting contests. A bunch of candy in a jar and you guess how much stuff is in it. I've won more than once. The worst was when my orthodontist had a contest going. I got it right and won the big huge container of candy......the day I got my races put on. I didn't eat any of it. It hurt too much, so I gave it to my brother.
I also win raffles a lot. I have won shirts, trinkets, etc. My best prize was the original XBOX at a fundraiser, and I only bought one ticket!

I don't win often. But a couple years ago I won six months of health insurance premiums at work and last year DH and I won a weekend wine tasting trip in a raffle for dd's choir. This year we won free bread for a year, but have to drive into the city (30 minutes and a toll bridge each way). We won't be claiming the bread.

I won a couple hundred dollars at a church raffle once. At every single school raffle, there are amazing Yankees tickets - apparently, many parents have deluxe season tickets and/or access to their company's season tickets. I always pitch in my tickets and cross my fingers, but... nothing. One time, I was totally stalking the Yankees ticket table our school's fundraiser. Another teacher won them, and when her DH was called into work that night (he's a LEO), she asked me to come with her to the game - she'd seen me stalking that dumb table all night at the fundraiser. LOL! We had a great time. I guess you could say I "won" something at that one.

The biggest thing I've ever won was my honeymoon trip (30 yrs ago!) I attended one of those wedding shows and the grand door prize was a trip to Hawaii. Thank goodness my sister was with me because once they called my name I went deaf and didn't hear any of the details! Nowadays I win the odd thing off the radio but nothing big.

I won a trip to the National Championship football game in Miami during the 2000/2001 season. I had entered early in the fall (when no one had any clue who might be playing at the end of the season) and had forgotten all about it. My DH's alma mater won the right to play in the game on Saturday, and two days later I found out we were going to Miami to watch them play. We were the only people who won the contest who had any ties to the teams who were playing, so many of our fellow contest winners (I think there were 10 couples in all) joined us in rooting for our school. The cherry on top of the sundae was that we pulled off a completely unexpected underdog win. DH likes to say I won "wife of a lifetime" honors for entering the contest and winning. It was such a fun experience ~ definitely once in a lifetime!

Years ago I won a Christmas tree. I think it was a lot where you cut down your own IIRC (Southern CA so that would be unusual).
14 yo DS won a Go Pro in an arcade game about a year ago. He also won a Sony PSP in an arcade game. However that time he got a slip that we had to send in and we never got around to it. With the Go Pro, he got that immediately.

I won $500 from a scrapbooking contest on Two Peas a long time ago. About 6 yrs ago I won a Pepsi promotion thru Publix grocery stores for 4 tickets to Aquatica (a water park in Orlando) for a private party. All food and entertainment was included..and they had hula dancers and flame twirlers! They also gave each person a really thick, nice beach towel that we still use now. My kids just loved the unlimited Dippin' Dots!

Money from scratch off tickets. Largest winning was $50.
My late husband and I also won a trip to WDW. Our mortgage company entered us into the contest when we built our house. We had no idea. In fact when we got the call we contacted the BBB to see if it was legit. Sure enough! 5 nights in the Hilton, free flight. Awesome! We went just after they built the Animal Kingdom (long time ago.)

I've won great prizes several times, but it's only because my FIL enters contests as a full time hobby (he enters all his kids and their spouses). I seriously mean "full" time hobby. He probably spends 6-7 hours a day looking for and entering contests. The best prizes for us have been : cash, a Green Egg grill and a week long trip for my DH to Braves Fantasy Camp.

I've won a few things: 1,000 from a radio station - they randomly dialed my work number (in 1990 before cell phones) and asked what my favorite radio station was - I answered correctly because I knew this station was doing this!
I also won 950.00 at the casino a couple years ago - playing Keno
I've won smaller things too, tickets to a baseball game, 50/50 raffles at church, mystery jackpot at bowling. Prize at a baby / wedding shower, small trinket at a team meeting etc....
It's hard for me to think that there are people who have NEVER won anything, NEVER really?

Any contest I have ever won has been done so on merit not luck.
I have a son who seems to have been born with a horseshoe up his butt. Just last month in Tim Horton's Roll Up the Rim contest, he won a free coffee, another free coffee on that free coffee, another free coffee on that free coffee, and then a $100 gift card on that free coffee.
