Getting a dog. She keeps me company all day and forces me to outside and get some fresh air. And she loves me.

I quit smoking 8 years ago. I had been a smoker for 30+ years, it was one of the hardest things I have ever done but so worth it! I feel younger and have more energy than I did when I was 40 (I'm 57).

Had my daughter 22 years ago. She makes every day better for me.
Marring my husband almost 19 years ago. He makes everyday better for me.
Changing our eating habits during this 24 day challenge. I know it is going to make all of our lives better.

I was so painfully shy and afraid of what others thought of me. I have started speaking up for myself without fear. Letting all that go and being myself is so liberating!

Sold our old tiny house with a teeny tiny yard and moved to a bigger house with a yard. Better neighbors, better school, better neighborhood, we are not piled on top of each other all the time and the kids can play outside. We moved 2 years ago and I haven't regretted it at all.

There are a lot of positive changes I have made in my life. But the toughest one was probably divorcing my ex husband. It was hard to split up the family because of my kids. It took me a long time to get to the place where I couldn't turn back. But it has been so awesome not living with his miserable drunk ass. I am so much happier.

Being happy with what we have. I found myself saying, man I need this or I wish my house had this or I want to go here. I stopped and have learned to love what I have. A home with those I love, food and the ability to try new things, my kids, my volunteer activities, my husband...the little things.... Dinner out, game nights,a deck to look at the stars, a fire pit to enjoy family, craft room to be able to create...and so on. I've stopped caring about the "Jones" & started appreciating us.

Running and working out. Good for my physical health but sometimes just as well for my mental health.

Leaving my X. I really had no idea the impact of being married to him was doing to me. I have learn to live with less and that is a very freeing feeling.

Sold my big, dream home, complete with built in pool that took all my time and energy to maintain and moved to a small, manageable home with lawn service. I can clean it top to bottom in less than 2 hrs. Life changing!

We left our traditional Lutheran church-born and raised Lutheran-and joined a non-denominational mega church. It has been such a dramatic 2 years of change for our family!

Made regular exercise a priority. That was almost ten years ago, when I didn't like the path I was on, health-wise. I am by no means thin, but I am solidly built. at a healthy weight, and in good shape cardio-wise. I know things would have been a whole lot different if I hadn't made that change. Good question!

Although I've numbered these, I could not say that one is more important than the other. They've all come together in a synergistic way.
1) Doing many years of therapy. 2) Moving far away from my family. 3) Making exercise as much a priority as brushing my teeth. 4) Getting a dog. 5) Having breast reduction surgery.

Running and working out. Good for my physical health but sometimes just as well for my mental health. This exactly. And I would also add, having a glass 1/2 full attitude.

Going back to school, currently doing it. Some days it seems tough and I think what am I doing. But the bottom line it's great for my self-esteem and will give me options so I stick with it.

Totally decluttered my house a year ago. Everything is still decluttered except my closet. And getting my lower legs lasered so no shaving.
