This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sorry to be late getting this up this month. We have had a houseful of family and I don't get much time to run to the computer. Cindy, yes, we have been making a bunch of paper dolls and other crafty things. I will hate to see Angie and her kids leave on Saturday. We have a big "Grandma Sleepover" tomorrow night with 7 children here. It will be crazy, but fun. Then Angie will leave and DH's sister and husband are coming for a couple of days. I'm going to have to do some clean-up quickly after all the kids leave....not that they make messes or anything. LOL!
I'm wishing you all a Happy Easter. We have LDS General Conference on Sat. and Sun, so it will be a great weekend.
Kelly, I am so sorry about all the mess of your plumbing issues. I'm glad you found some way to survive the "smell" of the new paint. I hope you guys get some moisture outside so you will have enough water to get through the summer. It sounds like it's bad all over Calif. We awoke to snow on the ground this a.m. Sammie and Drew went out and made a snowman. It's always so fun for them to see snow.
Well, I'll check back in when my company leaves. Have a wonderful weekend.

Cindy, where's that layout you were going to post? Glad you finished the puzzle. Angie brought me one. I don't dare start it until after all the family leaves. LOL.

Good morning! Hope you all had a great weekend! We had dinner with our family-Kellie cooked and it was delightful and great food. Did not get any scrapping done but I may this week-the grands are on spring break and home with their dad today! I am so ready to be outdoors. We walked a hiking trail over the weekend. Back to the nat today and back on the bike! Hope you all have a great day!

Hey all! Finally our life feels more settled. I still have some things to put back but the unexpected "Spring cleaning" was good. So this week every thing should be back in order. Hope you all had a nice Easter. We took my mom out for dinner on Sat and then Ron and I relaxed Sun. and watched some of my favorite holiday shows: "Easter Parade" and "The Ten Commandments". I just love watching them. So it was a nice and restful day. Cindy- You did have a fun time with your family. Waving hi to Kellie, too! Glad you are still getting your exercise on. Hopefully the weather has warmed so you can get out there and walk outside. I hope to get my butt moving this week. I gotta get my walking and yoga on. There is a yoga video on tv I like to watch sometimes and I hope to get back to it this week. Nylene- You have been having a great time with all your visitors. How fun! I hope you are enjoying it all and had a great Easter, too.

Thank you for the Easter wishes. We had a nice day. All our company has now left and the house seems so quiet! I think I caught the cold all the kids have had and now have a sinus inf. It doesn't help that all the trees are covered with pollen and we are having strong winds. Everyone is suffering with allergies.
I finished a page over the weekend but haven't scanned it. Once the headache goes away I'll post it.
Have a nice week.
I'll check back later.

We are a quiet bunch the last couple of months. Cindy, I'm proud of you for getting back to the walking now that your mountains and mountains of snow are melting! I need to get back to walking too. I finally got my layout scanned and posted in the gallery here. It's pretty simple, but I wanted to commemorate Dad's military service even though he didn't want to EVER talk about it. I took a photo of his dogtags and found a photo of him at about that time in his life. The vintage map is of the Presidio where he served. www.flickr.com/photos/129156123@N06/17090189002/

Happy Friday! I have been taking it slow all week and trying to get back to normal around here. I have to get my craft area together over the weekend so I can dive back in maybe next week. I haven't painted in weeks now or even scrapped so I have some fun to catch up on. Nylene- Wow!!! That lo about your dad is so awesome! I love the way you told his story and have his tags. The page was just perfect with the story. What a great way to honor your dad and all his service. My dad was in the army not during war time but was stationed in Germany and he wasn't crazy about it either. I can't even imagine what it was like for the those in combat. It must of been awful!!!! Also, hope you are feeling better after all the company and illness. Sending you some hot tea! Cindy- Hope you are having a good week. I didn't have much success with my exercise this week but maybe next week I can do more. Our weather is so nice now and lovely for walking. Well, just saying hi to you ladies and have a super duper evening!

Hi, Kelly! Glad things are looking up at your house. I know you will feel better when you can get back to painting and crafting. Can't wait to see what you are going to do next!
Cindy, hope the storms missed your area and you are having some much needed warm weather.
Off to get my Saturday work finished. I'll check in again the first of the week. Have a nice weekend!

Hi, all! I thought of you all today, and I actually had a minute to come say "hi!" It sounds like everyone had a good Easter. Ours was calm, but that was very nice for a change! I haven't scrapped in over a month! I am on spring break this week, so I hope to get a few pages done. Right now, we are having a giggle fest on a rainy afternoon as my kiddos are taking turns reading out of the National Geographic "Weird But True" kids books. To let you in on the fun, here's one weird but true fact for you: "Sea stars can turn their stomachs inside out!"
If I get some pages finished, I'll come back and share.
I'll try to come by more often this summer!

Amy, please, please come back and share. I miss seeing photos of your apple-cheeked darlings. Are you still working, working, working? Hope you enjoy your Spring break. We went back to school today and I could hardly wait to get the school. I have really missed my little ones that I tutor. It was fun working with them today, but I can't believe how much they forgot in 2 wks. (I took off the week before Spring break because Angie and family were here...you can do that when you are a volunteer! Makes me realize how much children lose over the summer. I'm sending hugs to you and your family. We have a busy week this week with Roundtable, Pack Meeting, a big Hope of America awards program and Card Club. I'll try to post the cards I have made for Card Club.

Happy Friday! I hope you all have had a good day so far. Mine is going slow and the weather is so lovely and sunny. I hope to start reorganizing my craft area. Just didn't have the mojo to get it going this past week. Not much going on but just wanted to wave hi to you all. Amy- Great to see ya and hope you enjoyed your break. Nylene- Those cards you made are so great. I like that you are trying different things. I want to get some new styles going with my cards too. I got bored with making the same type of card and need some new ideas. You do such a neat job too. Awesome! Also, the lo is pretty too. I know seeing your dh with her children must warm your heart. Are you still amazed that your baby is all grown up with children? Such a blessing! Cindy- Hope you are having a good one. The NBA playoffs are starting and I will be checking out some of those games. I have been walking more too. Now that Ron is home earlier than before we can take walks together sometimes. He's a trooper. I know after a long work day he isn't excited about walking but comes along with me when I ask.

Thanks for the link, Cindy. Those are some really pretty cards. Can't wait to see your Blue and Gold layout.
Kelly, I will be anxious to see what new ideas you come up with in cards. Glad you are having nice weather. We have had rain and snow on and off all week, but we really need the water, so it's OK.
Steve went to see the Dr. about a pain in his groin yesterday and this morning he was in surgery. I just got him home (long day) and he's sleeping soundly. The surgeon is the son of the Best Man at our wedding. These Doctors get younger and younger!
I'll be sticking close to home for the next few days, so hopefully I'll get a few moments to scrap while he sleeps.

Cindy, your layout is wonderful. I loved being reminded of the Order of the Arrow boys. We haven't had them come dance for several years. I think it's time to invite them again next year.
Steve had a very rough day yesterday and last night, but seems better today. He's moving slowly, and I can tell he hurts, but he won't take the pain pills. Silly man! I'm almost afraid to go to school tomorrow because he might try to do something he knows I wouldn't let him do. Yesterday morning before I could stop him, he was out starting the mower for a neighbor boy to mow our lawn!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? No wonder he was miserable the rest of the day and last night. These macho men!
Be back later. Thanks for your concern for Steve.

Cindy, that's a beautiful layout. What a gorgeous photo. I'm so sorry about your laundry room, but congrats on the new washer. I'm afraid our dishwasher is going to do that one of these days. It's about time for a replacement.
I've been working on some pages and cards, but don't have anything finished or scanned.
I'm waving to you Pokeys and hoping you have a great week and weekend.

Cindy, how on earth did you manage to capture that photo. So beautiful! I love what you did with the background and the title. Such a perfect page. Looks like a professional magazine page. I hope you like your new washer. I dread getting a new one because I know HOW to use and clean the old ones. Anything new and automated makes me nervous! LOL! Glad to see your mojo has come back.

Thanks for your very kind words Nylene! That font is called Lavenderia and you can get it here free: linkI got lucky-the nuthatch was at my feeder and as I shot the photo he started flying away! They are funny little birds as they usually are upside down! Here's one on my suet feeder. How is Steve doing? Since you are on here I am figuring he is doing well!

Happy Monday! We are warming up again out here and hope some of the heat finds its way to you all and melt some of the snow. Our weekend was restful. We went to the golf course again and I just love it there. Before we left, it was so cute but we saw two beautiful birds. I think they were geese. The were so elegant and walking around so cautiously. Then, I took another look and they had their baby walking and eating while the parents watched over it. The baby goose was still bright yellow and fuzzy so it was probably pretty new. It was a cute sight and I was surprised not to see more baby birds but it was just that one.
Other than that we are coming along and getting things back to normal. Can you believe it is almost May??? This year is really going. Since being back home, I gotta find my paper with all my screen names and passwords on it so I can leave some praise for you ladies on Flicker. I don't know where that paper is! LOL!
Cindy- How is the new washer? I am sure you are happy to get a new one. Oh and your layouts are just beautiful. I really like the lettering you used on both. Looks so romantic and graceful. Great job!
Nylene- I hope you dear hubby is feeling better. He is really a tough cookie to endure all the challenges he has had. I know you are proud of him, a really trooper!

Good Tuesday afternoon to one & all! Well I was busy yesterday and so far today. I have Bobby today as he was not feeling well today-headache stuffy! So I was working in my laundry room-put some new shelving together and did some laundry. I am liking this new washer. Uses a lot less water and shorter dryer runs. I have not had a chance to do any scrapping but have some ideas floating around my head! LOL That's about all that is there! Oh Saturday we went to see the barbershoppers. It was a great show! They sang songs from then fifties. My step dad was in the barbershpoppers. I totally enjoy that music. They had 2 guest quartets there that were very good. They had won nationwide competitions. The one quartet were second generation barbershoppers and three of them had their fathers sang in the same quartet together. well back to work for me.

Kelly, I had to chuckle about not being able to find your passwords. Angie just called her dad to tell him she was going through some papers and found his list of passwords (that have been missing since she was here) among some of her stuff. She must have borrowed it to connect one of the kids to the internet and it went home to CA with her. I see that it is hitting in the 90's for you So. CA people. Wow, that seems so early. We are getting some rain and cloudy days, but it was nice today.
Cindy, I hope your Bobby is feeling better tomorrow. Sounds like you are liking the new washer. Your barbershop concert sounds fun. My SIL used to sing with a group in Idaho. I love listening to them. That's my kind of fun music.
Yesterday was Steve's b-day and Alyssa and her dad were at 5th grade camp, so we took Em and Ashley and Alex to dinner and came home to cake and ice cream. It's not on the diet, but we need to celebrate occasionally.
I'm hoping to do a bunch of scrapping this weekend since it's NSD. I don't know that I will try to do challenges, but I do want to scrap. I looked at the thread here about NSD and it seems a lot of sites are doing some fun things. Seems like each year something comes up and I don't get the chance to scrap.
Have a great week!
