I am happy! I slept for a long time last night! Yay! I found a favourite new scene (Sugar by Michel Germain) and love it!!! It smells really good on me, too, unlike other ones I have tried. My Mum is doing well all things considering. Relief! May the Christians celebrate the Death of Jesus Christ (Isa) and sacrifice in any way they feel right and may the day bring peace to everyone Jummah Mubarak (Happy Friday!!!)

I took a day off work to have some electrical work done at my house. I made the appointment 10 days ago. The guy gets here this morning and tries to talk me into rescheduling for another day cause his kids are off school.
I get that. I really do. If he had called me 2 days ago, I would have changed my work schedule and done it another day. But now I've used a PTO day and the work needs to be done. And I told him so
And he just got back after a 2 damn hour trip to Home Depot. This better get finished today.
ETA: he is very disgruntled I am making him have a late day today. If I wasn't running short on PTO due to medical issues I would have told him to take a flying leap and found someone else. On the bright side though, it an absolutely gorgeous day to have the windows open and not be in the office!!!

I'm hap;y that I'm going to see "Fish in the Dark" (Larry David's new play) on Broadway tonight! But I'm sad because I have a lingering cold and will be paranoid about having a coughing fit in the middle of the show.

I feel pretty happy today. My DH has sent me some texts saying sweet things lately. We are treating my IL's to brunch at a Paleo restaurant on Easter. I think they will be happy because that's how they eat even though they don't call it that. I bought a new dress for Easter. It felt a little roomy so I returned it for a smaller size which fit perfectly.

I am happy because we were able to get outside and cut the grass and the yard looks so nice. But I am tired because we cut the grass. Now I think it is time for a cranberry and vodka. Anyone care to join me?

I have had a pretty good day- but can I please just get something off my chest?
Good Friday...lots of people are off work. Tons of people are grocery shopping for the holidays. Stores are busy and crowded. This is probably not the best day, mom-who-is-old-enough-to-know-better, to let your two little kids walk down the aisles side by side with those $%@#$%@# mini shopping carts. And as if that isn't bad enough- she had the nerve to give people the stink eye when they tried to turn down the aisle. When we turned into an aisle they were hogging, she scowled at us and sighed "Come on kids. I guess we have to move." Where the heck do you think you are, lady? Take them to the park if you want to goof off.

Today is my anniversary. 22 years. No acknowledgement from anyone. It's a little disappointing. I'm not expecting anything gift wise or dinner etc, but wow, you know Eta: anyone meaning not so dh. Or kids.

Today was a happy day. I met with clients today that were wonderful. The entire day was easy. This evening my son texted me to invite me to a cookout tomorrow. I love spending time with he and his family. I love seeing how happy they are.

I'm mostly sad. My dear friends husband passed away last night after a brief illness. Her DD was spending the night with my girls. We had to pretend for 2 hours that nothing was wrong, and try to keep them all off FB, until her grandparents could get here. They told her in our living room, and it was the most heartbreaking thing I have ever witnessed. I love this girl like one of my own.
Side note - why are people so thoughtless on FB? As soon as word spread, people ran to FB and started posting messages to my friend, without knowing if her kids knew yet or not. So lets all spread the word - when tragedy strikes, DO NOT post ANYTHING on FB until the family does! If this girl or her sister or my kids had seen those messages before the grandparents could get here...OMG. I would be in a straight jacket, or jail, right now.

I'm basically beside myself with joy, because dh got a job! He retires from the military this summer, and has applied and applied, but with sequestration and budgets, no one is hiring. He had one interview out of dozens of applications. BUT, he got called April Fools Day by HR of the agency he works at (as a military member now) and they said they had a job offer...he was pretty confused, as he had no word or interviews with this agency for any openings he applied for. He went in, not a prank, lol, some people he knows saw his application and hired him, no interview needed.
And it's in Seoul!! So we don't have to stay in suck ass DC any more, thank God.
We are thrilled, except dhs family somehow thought he would be back in Missouri after he retired (though we told them no jobs there, so...) so they are going to wail and gnash teeth so dh hasn't told them yet. So I can't say anything on Facebook until he does.
I am already planning ky culinary welcome back tour through through all my favorite restaurants!!

I'm happy because it's a statutory holiday today. We were able to spend it having our Easter celebration at my sis's with extended family. We had a great meal, and a wonderful visit.
And I am so lucky to have such wonderful family....always understanding and loving and never any drama.

I am manically happy. It's Friday night, my patio is newly cleaned and there are candles in all the lanterns. I am starting to drink copious amounts of my favorite wine out here and plying my husband with the same and taking advantage of him.

I'm a little sad. We noticed today that our 15yo DD has scoliosis. I don't think it's too bad, but my mother has completely freaked out. She's convinced that I will ignore it and my daughter will have to suffer for the rest of her life.

Basket lady, I lived there 97-99, and then we all did 2009-12, and now we are headed back! I love Korea. Dh does too, mostly because with me we can go and do so much, I speak Korean, the kids love it too. The food, oh I miss it so. And the saunas. And the beach. I am so, so, so happy!

I'm happy! My sweet husband threw me a surprise birthday party this year. He gave me the party I tried to have last year that never happened. I had 10 friends and family members here and DH hid in the basement with the kids so the women and I could have a good visit. We even got a game in. He bought me two cheesecakes from Cheesecake Factory for me to share with my guests as my present. They went over really, really well, no surprise. I wasn't looking forward to my birthday this year. Last year's was so awful and I felt overlooked by everyone. I was not looking forward to this year because I share the day with Easter and LDS General Conference, so I was sure I'd get overlooked again. He also made sure the new board and batten wainscoting in my dining room got painted before today. My sweetie is awesome.

Oldest DD and her family (DH and 2 sons) decided to rent out their 2 bedroom home and move in with her DHs family. They will have a full basement to live in and they are planning on at least 1 1/2 - 2 years to save $$ to buy another home. They have outgrown their current home but haven't been able to sell it.
Last night I was watching the boys and she came over to pick them up. I had a trying evening with the 9 year old (other one is 14 months) and he just wanted to argue about everything. (So much like his Mom when she was little!). Anyway, DD told me the renters will move in on May 1, and that her MIL just told them that her (the MIL) sister needed to move in with them for at least 6-8 weeks due to some medical issues. This turned into an 8 month stay last time around. So, DD said they will probably have to move in with us for a while. I 'said' we will make it work but my mind was screaming 'NO'! And I won't say that out loud because they don't have an option and our home is more than large enough to accommodate everyone.
I'm not ready to give up my privacy, worry about what's for dinner every night for 6 instead of just 2. I love them all I'm just not ready to have them all here All The Time! DH and I both work full time and love to just come home and relax and do things on our schedule, not someone else's!
I am being very selfish but after raising 3 daughters I think I'm allowed to be!! I need to suck it up - there isn't another option right now - I just needed to get if off my chest here so I can enjoy our meal together today. We are celebrating Easter dinner here today so the girls can be with their other side of the family tomorrow. We are always flexible, change our times, days etc. to accommodate as it isn't the day, it is the time spent with family.
Ok - I need to put it behind me now and move on! More to come in future vent threads I'm sure!

I have some new earrings and they match a couple of necklaces. They are cute and they are teal. They are not expensive, however I have just developed a tolerance for costume jewellery and can now wear it. This is great but 2 different earrings are missing. Grrrrr. I will keep hunting but so far nothing is turning up. This is my own fault of course. I just want them back!
Sleep. It's a good thing. Tracing one's last steps is often a good thing too. All the lost items have been accounted for.
Feeling foolish for 2000, Alex.

Happy day...well weekend. Oldest daughter is visiting, having family game night, taking the youngest to the movies, coloring Easter eggs, baking a bunny cake, finishing my craft desk & getting ready for the last couple of months of the school year.

I'm so happy I'm ready to burst!!
My dh and I have had some serious medical issues over the past two years. We're both feeling so much better and I was able to go off of one of the medications I was on which was interfering with an important, and much missed, part of our lives. It's been three weeks and yesterday everything just seemed to click into place. Life is good...dh is so happy!!
