I usually try to take advantage of this Bonus day. Unfortunately I had to finish my taxes and did not get a chance to before going to work. I passed the line at our University's B&J shop and there was probably 100-150 people in line that I could see. That is too long of a wait for me, but the lines at the normal scoop shops aren't usually that long. They do have it streamlined so it moves quite quickly. If you have a shop around your area I hope you were able to enjoy a free cone.

We didn't realize it was free cone day yesterday (never lived near a b&j store before) and it's also basically a university store. We drove up and the line was stretching the entire block, so no ice cream for us. The parking there is horrendous too so there is no way even if we wanted to wait, we'd be able to find a spot. They seemed to be very generous with the cones though which was great to see. There were a lot of happy people around that campus yesterday!

I don't even bother with it anymore because my time is more valuable than waiting so long for a "free" cone. The line at ours, also a University one, was ridiculously long and even if I had wanted to attempt the line I would have spent even longer trying to find parking. I would rather pay for a cone on a regular day . Congrats to anyone who was able to get a cone but not me.

OMG that's what that was all about! We have a Ben & Jerry's near me and I walked past it yesterday there was a massive crowd and a line that went around the corner, I'd say about 150 people as well, I've never seen anything like it, I had no idea why people had suddenly gone insane about ice-cream that is there everyday of the week.
Even if I knew it was free, no way would I have wasted that much time standing in line.

I am just incredibly jealous of anyone who has a Ben & Jerry's near them. I wish...

We drove by one because dd wanted to check it out- I warned her it would be long and it was! We just went to the store and got some there. A free cone is not worth waiting in that line!

Yup, we did! It's been a tradition since DD was about 2. Our city isn't huge, and the store isn't particularly near any of the colleges, so the line is never very long. Yesterday was the longest we've ever waited, and it was probably 15 minutes tops.

I am glad to see some people got a freebie. I will try to resume the tradition next year. As a Vermonter I feel I need to support the local boys.

We don't have a B&J close to me anymore, I don't think. The one that I knew about closed. But, there is no way I would stand in a line like there to save a few dollars on an ice cream cone. Also, I have never been a big B&J fan. It seems like all of their mixtures end up with something I really don't want in my ice cream so I have hard time finding anything I want.
