I worked today; but, my DD made dinner. I had all the ingredients and the recipe pulled up on my laptop. It is a pinterest recipe called "no peek beef tips".
Delicious!

We're having something dh and the boys have never had before - Toad In The Hole. Oldest ds gave me the WTF-look when I told him, he was thinking it was frogs legs. Nope, I'm a Brit not French. It's sausage with Yorkshire pudding batter poured over the top and baked in the oven. We're having it with sautéed cabbage and chard. We make Toad In The Hole, but our version is a piece of bread with a hole cut out of it.. put the bread in a warm frying pan, crack and egg in the hole, and cook until egg is set. Nooo - that's "eggy bread"

Whew and Phew, phew, phew. There's a huge fire somewhere nearby, the sky was all black from smoke and it stinks outside. And since this house is "SOOO AIRTIGHT" -- NOT, didn't feel like doing much, especially not cooking much, so I picked up a rotisserie chicken, shredded it, mixed with softened cream cheese, hot sauce, cream, little butter, shredded gouda, spread in a baking dish, topped with panko crumbs and broiled a few minutes. So it was a kind-of Italian Crockpot chicken, speeded up. Mashed potatoes and a steamer package of veggies on the side.
eta: I want to have what calgal08 is having, real toad in a hole. One of these days...

I think we are having Ezell's chicken. That is if dh takes dd to the mall for her party dress. Otherwise, I have no idea Mmm Ezells! If you're in around the Renton area, you should try Heaven Sent. It's Ezell Stephens new place since he got booted out of the original Ezells. It's so good!

Ham and cheese sandwiches and fruit My son is playing his first ever T-ball game tonight (finally, the first 2 were cancelled). He is SOOOOOOO excited! Can't wait to see his team take the field I'm so excited for him!!! Come back and tell us how it went. My DS was involved in his first ever triple play today (on the good side of it), and we won our game after a totally embarrassing loss yesterday. Oh my goodness, he was so cute out there and really did a great job. They only play 2 innings a game and the first inning he was on 1st base. Did a great job. A couple of stops and got the ball almost every time haha. Other kids on his would throw to him and he would throw to the catcher.
I just have to say that it truly was a glorious time. I don't know how anyone could stay grumpy while watching 4 and 5 year olds try to play ball. Oh goodness there was lots of laughs and cheers all around

We went to dinner at a "fancy" restaurant and I had Skirt Steak Salad with grilled veggies, goat cheese, and pine nuts. DH had Ahi, rice and veggies.

Since we have been eating healthy I have been looking for fun good tasting healthy recipes.
Tonight we had Almond crusted pork chops. I took sliced raw almonds and smashed them up into crumbs (next time I need to do them much finer) used a little canola oil and fried them, made some rice and I had broccoli salad and husband had green beans.
I really like making new recipes that turn out eatable and worth trying again.
Leannec I hope your mum in law gets better soon.

leannec thanks for taking ont he nightly dinner thread gar you made me look up samphire - we call them sea beans here I made disneypal's Honey Lemon Chicken with Angel Hair Pasta that she linked last night and it was a huge hit. I did add slight less honey because I was worried about it being too sweet and I also added chopped asparagus when the sauce went into the chicken and a bunch of chopped spinach when I tossed in the pasta.

My sister is visiting 'home' from Devon and she requested a not very healthy chicken curry off the bone and fries from the local fish and chip shop
