I don't think Jenn ever had any intention of going home. I think she is playing EVERYONE! I love her whole speech to Joe-- "I want to go home… So you throw the immunity challenge and let ME win… And then I will give you the necklace just so I can see the look on everyone's faces…" Or when Jeff offered to let her just walk away from tribal Council so there would be no vote – "OH NO... That would be quitting. I'm not a quitter." What. Ever. I think she wants everyone to THINK she wants to go home, and therefore is not a threat. So then she can fly under the radar and not get voted out. I lost all respect for her last night… but why would you lose all respect for her if she is really PLAYING everyone! f she flys under the radar using that technique and makes it to the end…. Im voting for her! Because I like Joe better…

Can someone explain the idol thing from last night. I get Joe trying to trick people into thinking he had a real idol, but why did he think offering it to Matt after the vote was going to help him? If it was real, why wouldn't he have just played it or kept it? [ Yeah – I love Joe, but his strategy was not the best. Sure he's cute. Sure he can win challenges. But there are so many things he could've done better! From showing Tyler the clue to the immunity idol, to not looking for it harder himself, for not scrambling a little more--especially when Mike was away at the chocolate reward,, and then the whole fake idol thing… It was a GREAT fake Idol. It looked really real! but I don't understand what he thought it was going to get him… I only hope Mike is fooled and will play it at some future tribal Council.

Mike played it last night for Will and found out it was a fake, that is why I don't get why Joe gave it to him. It didn't change his vote and didn't protect him. I just don't get it.

If it's a deliberate strategy, then I'm with you, it's a good one she deserves credit. However she hasn't said this in any of the confessionals so I think you might be giving her more credit than she deserves, even in private she hasn't said "I want them all to think I want out, but I don't really..." I think she really did want to go and did want people to vote for her. I haven't recovered from her "I slaughtered a rabbit before the show to prepare myself" comment. No idea if she's telling the truth or not, but if she did, then that's pretty sick in my book.

I was surprised too to find out that Joe's chest burns were from the pole challenge. Honestly, I just assumed it was from that last challenge where they had to go down that completely DRY wooden slide out in the water. That looked painful. And I still can't get over some of the images on that slide--particularly Will looking like a slug slowly slipping down it. I'm still chuckling in my head at Dalton's description of him. I think Joe is the first to admit that his strategy wasn't the best. He was kicking himself over it at Ponderosa. I think that Joe is so damn likable, he's just used to people probably gravitating toward him, wanting to be his friend, etc., that he just assumed his social game would be good and people would want to align with him. And yeah, Joe himself regrets that he didn't wear the idol into TC. I think he believed that if he offered to give it to Mike, that it would buy him Mike's loyalty and that would help him last throughout the game. I don't think he expected Mike to out him and to then play it that night. The idea of Jenn pretending to want to go home would be briliant--I think it would be a fantastic strategy which I would have to give her kudos for. But, I am almost certain that it wasn't an act and she DOES want to go home (not enough to actually quit and be in that hall of shame but she still wants to go home). Someone mentioned the killing of the chicken. I forgot to talk about that. First, Jenn was obnoxious where the chickens were concerned. I totally understand getting attached to them--I would too--but she's ridiculous calling them "her" chickens and being mad that they killed them without asking her. But, as others have mentioned, I would be PISSED if I were the group that won the reward. That's pretty ballsy to kill the chickens while they are away. I would have rather at the chickens than all that chocolate. Although the cold drinks (even if they're drinks that don't typically go with chocolate) looked delicious. I think cold drinks is a BIG thing that I would crave while on the island. All they have to drink is tepid water. How wonderful would icy cold drinks taste out there? Also, as far as product placement, I do have to laugh at that. But like Pjaye, I'm okay with it if pays the bills. We, as consumers, brought this on ourselves you know. TV shows pay the bills through advertising and DVRs have really lessened the impact of advertising. I know I generally record a show far enough in that I can fast forward through the commercials. If we aren't seeing their ads in commercials, they gotta get to us some other way. I really like Shirin the most right now, but I know she will never win. I guess I COULD be okay with Mike (he's playing pretty hard and is generally not terribly offensive), Carolyn, or Tyler. I do not want Dan to win for sure. I also don't want Will to win. I can't stand Rodney, but he's also playing pretty hard and his impressions alone won him points from all of us. Okay, my response to the spoilers I LOVE the idea of players who've only played once coming back. And I also love the idea of the viewers voting to get them on there. I prefer Survivor with new players, but there are some players you love and wish they could just get one more chance (like Joe). I just don't want to see the repeat offenders anymore. I'm sick of Boston Rob, Coach, Tyson, Parvati, etc. (and I even like some of those players). They are played out and they have had enough chances at this game fgs! I just thought of something and wondered if any of you watched or heard about it. Did you know that Tyson and his girlfriend went on that Couples Boot Camp show? I lost a lot of respect for him when I saw that. That show seems so sleazy and dumb. It's one thing to challenge yourself physically and strategically on shows like Survivor, but to air your dirty relationship laundry for voyeuristic viewers is just creepy to me. I think I saw commercials that Jeff and Jordan from Big Brother are going to be on there next season. These are some people who are seriously addicted to being on reality TV (aka media whores). It's kind of sad.

Speaking of relationships, JT recently got married. Not to a survivor alum though.

I'm sad to see Joe go, but we all knew it would happen the first time he did not have immunity. I wish he had bluffed harder with the fake idol and said no way to giving it up to Mike, that he would be using it for himself. I would have loved to see him strutting around camp wearing it and watched the scrambling between those who believed him and those who thought it was fake. The chocolate reward has to go down as one of the worst ever. Maybe chocolate with burgers or chicken or any protein, but just chocolate bars?! Shirin is worming her way into my favorites list. I love the way she plants little seeds of information like "we all know how close Carolyn and Tyler are . . ." Was anyone else surprised that the group not on the reward killed and ate a chicken? And there was no reaction from the group when they came back from the reward? Did I miss something? ETA Loved Dalton's recap and Joe's Ponderosa tape Yes to all of this! Just tucking the fake idol in his pocket so there was a noticeable bulge and then leaving the string just peeking out would have been a better way to play that. And yes, they needed some type of meal before all that chocolate. However, since it's made in my town I'm all for product placement, lol. I never really liked Shirin, but everyone else is really pissing me off, so she's becoming my favorite as well. I said the same thing about the chicken. It belonged to all of them, so why did they think it was OK to eat it w/out half of them? Just wrong. Can't believe that wasn't a huge issue, especially since they didn't get a real meal as reward. And isn't it funny how Jen basically called Nina a crybaby when she accused her & Hali of shutting her out. Who's the crybaby now? Barf. And Dan makes me want to barf, too. Can't wait til he goes. And I so wanted to like him. Yuck. Rodney's impressions were hilarious! Made me like him just a little bit more.

Looks like the twist for the season has finally been released. Probst InterviewShould be interesting. We know the auction is Wednesday night and that is when someone will win this advantage. Definitely could have an impact on the game.

I'd heard rumors about this twist and I'm a little surprised they didn't keep it under wraps until the show Wednesday. I'd love to see Jenn or Shirin win the advantage and shake up things a bit.

I heard additional info about the spoiler- I posted earlier about this spoiler that I'd read online-that at the end of this season we'd get a chance to vote for a future season of returnees.
I recently read that we'd be voting that they'd be all NEW returnees (Yippee-also so sick of ones that come back again and again) and that we'd be voting out of a batch of 20 former players. Have no idea how reliable this is. I read it on my facebook page.
So-hope that's true. Looking forward to tomorrow night! Debbie in MD.
