Dh and I finished up last nights beef stew for lunch today ... he's a realtor so he's home for lunch most days ... luckily, he likes leftovers Tonight, dd#2 has swimming lessons so I'm going with easy peasy: chicken nuggets and caesar salad ... at least it's something that everyone likes What's cookin' at your house?

Thinking old school...biscuits and gravy (I make a gravy with ground turkey instead of sausage...you know, the whole roux, milk, ground turkey, salt and pepper, and in this case, a splash of worcestershire sauce thing.) Some kind of veggie to go with it, but not sure what.
I feel a bit like I want comfort food. This should fit the bill.

Vegetarian meatless loaf, steamed green beans, and steamed carrots. Half my family will love this entire dinner, half will only eat half of it.

That's exactly six more people than would eat it here at my house I call the dd's "Picky #1" and "Picky #2" ... if we were vegetarian everyone but me would starve I think it is awesome that you are able to get your family to eat that way

Yet another late night because of baseball. Last week's CSA included dandelion (still can't believe I'm actually paying for dandelion, especially when I think of all the ones I pulled out of my garden in England), I made dandelion pesto.
Tonight dh and boys will have the pesto over pasta and I'll have it with shredded sautéed cabbage, and I also spiralized (which I've not tried before) yellow squash. Thanks to the Peas I spiralized in advance so the excess liquid could drain :-)

Just us girls tonight as DH is going out to dinner with his boss. I am going to treat them to Chick-fil-a, but I am planning on making potato soup for me for dinner (and lunch tomorrow).

Or at least a version of it? For breakfast it can be made with sausage, for dinner it can made with hamburger (although I use ground turkey.) Serve over mashed potatoes or biscuits and it is comfort on a plate. LOL I think the dinner version it is kind of depression era thing. Or a southern thing. Or a poor people thing. Or a redneck thing. Not sure which.

I'm worn out physically and mentally today with a planned OSHA visit at work. That's always stressful, so I've told my crew everyone is on their own tonight! I think I want tacos!

They've all been through their own picky stages, but I don't compromise or cater a whole lot, so mostly they all just eat what is served. Tonight, two DDs will not eat the meatless loaf (just a few bites each), and one DD will not eat any carrots or green beans (other than the requisite bite).

we are having TJ's Soy Ginger Cod, roasted parsnips and maybe some other veg, not sure Kerri, did you see I posted a long time ago that we finally tried the soy ginger cod again, and we loved it? We've had it several times since then, and turned my mom and stepdad on to it, too. Thank you!

I still have defrosted chicken breasts that didn't get used last night, so I think I'm going to try that honey lemon chicken, only with thin spaghetti instead of angel hair, since that's what I have. Unless people think super-skinny soup noodles would be a better choice. We have zucchini and broccoli and carrots, so also one of those or maybe all of them mixed together. Last night the 6yo had dental work done and his mouth was still numb, so we ended up having refried beans (drowning in jack cheese, so decadent) and chocolate milkshakes instead.

Third baseball game in a row-tonight was away - far away. Dh plays softball tonight, so he grabbed burger king for himself. I grabbed jimmy John's for ds and I on my way home from the game (a 9-1 victory!)

Reporting in: the honey lemon chicken was a hit. Very quick and easy. I increased the lemon juice some, and maybe I was generous with the honey, but didn't increase the other ingredients at all. Now my BIL is on his way over to polish it off.
