I got there about 5 min after it opened and the racks were bare. If someone had one of the items in their cart they had at least 15. I looked on ebay and there seems to be a ton for sale. One line was even a bigger mess. Double . Luanne

I have a friend that got some stuff for her toddler. But lots of other friends were mad the website crashed while they tried to order.

I got on the website and started putting things in my cart - all of a sudden, the number of items in my cart started to decrease. Apparently the things were selling out while I was still shopping, and there was nothing left. I can't believe they didn't learn from the Missoni fiasco and limit the number of things that could be purchased in the store. Crazy that people were filling their carts up. I guess those are the ones on eBay now. I'd rather pay full price in the Lilly store than patronize some of those selfish eBay sellers.

No, I totally forgot . One of my friends is selling the stuff on EBay and I personally think that is pretty crappy of her.

Nope. My Target had one girls dress, 2 girls shits and a pair of toddler shorts. I went a few hours after opening. What was I thinking? DD is away at school where there is no Target; she tried online with no luck. She doesn't know anyone that was successful.
We agree that we would rather shop at The Lily Pulitzer store than pay inflated prices for the Target items.

I didn't see anything at our target except for the emory boards and some nail polish, but we weren't looking. imho they need to limit the number of items that people can buy, especially on line, as people are now making a killing on ebay

My dd & I went. The first few people in line grabbed everything they could so if you were far back in line you got nothing. We didn't get any clothes. We got the straw beach bag, hair ties & a phone case.
My oldest went to a target near her & did get a dress but she said it runs small. Her friend also bought pants & a dress & returned them. There's only a 14 day return period. A person in line had the pillows in her cart & they were super cute. Some stores only got a few items.

I don't try to go to Target when they do a release. I just wait until right before the return cut off date is and look then.
A ton of people at my Targets grab anything so they can put it up on ebay or resell it. If it doesn't sell, then back to Target.

DD and I were in line at 7:45, maybe 15 people back. We got nothing. The second the doors opened, people swarmed the tiny clothing display, grabbing everything they could. We never even touched anything. We weren't sure where the home stuff was, and by the time we found it, just about everything was gone there as well.
There was a ridiculously small amount of merchandise for sale, for as much as this collection was hyped. DD was so disappointed. She is moving into her first apartment next fall and had her heart set on a few of the home items.
Fortunately, Lilly is apparently not that big in St. George, Utah, where my MIL lives. She went to her store about an hour after it opened, and they still had almost everything. We didn't have her get any clothes, because we were unsure about sizing, but she was able to get some off the smaller home items.

My DD and I waited in line to get into the store as soon as it opened. She got a bathing suit, 2 dresses, a romper, a beach towel, and a giant cut on her finger where a woman ripped a hanger out of her hand. This woman is probably one of the ebay-ers. She was just grabbing piles of stuff off the rack and shoving it in her cart. The snotty bitch made some comment relating to how she came to this neighborhood's Target because she didn't think anyone here would know who Lily was. The crowd was as crazy as a bunch of teens waiting to see One Direction. The quality of the merchandise was very hit-or-miss. Some things were nice, others not so much.

What exactly would Target's incentive be for limiting quantities? Everything has sold, they have made their money, why would they care? It's not as if there has been a mass exodus of shoppers over the whole thing.

I agree with you but I wonder how much they get in returns on the items that didn't sell on eBay, etc. They limit items like TV's etc on Black Friday.

True, but I think there is a much larger group of black Friday shoppers who will snatch up whatever tv is on sale that day than the group of shoppers interested in this merchandise.

I went on a whim because I happened to be up early this morning... I got to the store around 7:50 and was probably about 40 people back in the line. I ended up with the giraffe shift a size larger than I would have liked, but it was the only one hanging there so I snagged it - even with $20 of alterations of an inch down each each seam, I'm considering it a bargain - two scarves, a phone case, and two beach towels. I would have loved to have gotten the navy and white print dress, but did end up with that print on the phone case and a scarf. All in all, I'd say it was a success for me - but I certainly didn't have my heart set on anything, and the crowd at my Target was at least pleasant!

I just saw a commercial for it and thought why did they bother making a commercial for something no one can buy?

We went there and witnessed people piling their carts... sorta scared my six year daughter and she wanted to leave:( It was quite obvious from what I witnessed that it would all be resold somewhere. When you witness people clearing a whole rack of clothes, it is disturbing.

I remember the last Target limited run fiasco and once again I'm grateful no one in my family is brand or trend driven!

And to think, these are just items created by Target for Target borrowing vintage Lilly Pulitzer prints... not even the real deal IMO. It's still a target line.

I looked at her site just to see what her regular clothes were and dresses were 148 and up. They couldn't have possibly been that much at target? The stuff is really pretty, but for me personally, clothes and decorating items aren't that important that I would wait in line or fight for it. I will merrily wait for things at Disney though, and I know a lot of people here think I am crazy for that! It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round! Glad a few of you were able to get some things you wanted, sorry for all you that did not.

You can buy a Target item on ebay for the price of an actual Lily Pulitzer brand item. It's ridiculous. The last time I shopped a special promo sale at Target was Liberty. I can't think of anyone I would do it for ever again. Target Style's facebook page was filled with irate posts today from people who either couldn't buy online or who went to the stores to find the racks bare. Target really should learn from the past and put a limit on the number of things people buy. There were many pictures of shopping carts loaded up with dresses in every size. If you weren't first in line you wouldn't have stood a chance.

I went to target late in the afternoon and knew racks would be bare. But i saw a sales person coming down from the fitting room with a couple of girls dresses. Three if them were my daughter's size. As I was choosing which one to take, another lady tried to grab them from me without even looking at the prints/sizes. She had in her cart every single last item she could find in the store. I held on two the two dresses i liked. She was super upset, but honestly, my daughter loooves loud prints and she was over the moon when she saw them. She will be wearing them (as opposed to buying to resell) The cashier said the store was complete mayhem this morning and even had "bar like" fights over every LP item.
