I have some boneless pork ribs I'd like to cook today.

I simply put them in and turn the crockpot on. They are fatty enough that they make their own juice so don't stick to the crockpot. I turn mine on the 10 hour setting. Then when they are about an hour away from done, I put BBQ sauce on them. That's all I do.

I put just a couple of tablespoons of water in the bottom of the crockpot just to add a bit of moisture until the meat juices start to run. I also add several grinds of pepper, a couple of shakes of garlic powder (or crush a fresh clove), a couple of shakes of oregano and basil and then a little sprig of rosemary.
Otherwise, just cook it.
I really don't like BBQ sauce on my ribs, but my husband does. The little bit of seasoning adds some flavor for me, but doesn't take away from the BBQ sauce.

No no no!! ick. Just boiled meat is what they are. Have to do in oven, slow and low, and then finish on the grill if you really want good ribs.

I don't. I think they taste like steamed meat done in the crockpot. Bleah. I make them in the oven, and then finish them on the grill with some wood chips for about 10 minutes so they taste more grilled.

I cook mine in the oven. I cut the slab into smaller maybe 3 rib pcs. Line the pan with heavy duty alum. foil. Season them and then cover with foil. Cook at 275-300 degrees for about 2.5 to 3 hours. Towards the end of cooking, maybe about last 30 minutes, I smear on BBQ sauce. I will sometimes click over to broil to do that "grill crisp". Fall off the bones awesomeness. My oldest DS had to have me tell him how to do them so he could make them at school.

I am another oven and then grill.
I sprinkle on some dry bbq run. Wrap in foil and put in the oven at 250 for a couple hours. Then finish on the grill, brushing some with bbq sauce and leaving some dry. My kids don't like bbq sauce, but do like the dry rub.

My ribs cooked in the crockpot come out tasting just the same as the ones I cook covered in the oven. It's not boiled meat because it's not covered in liquid.

I do the same except I add a small amount of water (less than 1/4 c.) at the bottom so they don't stick before they start getting juicy. I also season them with a dry rub before putting them in the crockpot.

I rub them down with a good seasoning, then put them in the crockpot, standing up against the walls. I don't put any sauce on them until I take them out of the crockpot and either put them under the broiler or on the grill.

We do ours at about 275 for 3-4 hrs. Depending on how much. Season well. wrap in foil, then take out, put on grill and put the sauce on.
Trust me, I have done ribs in the crockpot, there is NO way they taste as good as oven/grill method. I mean in a pinch you could do them in there, but if you want really good ones, you have to do it in the oven.

The place I worked for always boiled them on the stove and then put them in a super hot over. Or took the home for the grill.
I have stood them on their side in a crockpot and they turn out pretty good.
My oven method is 300 degrees, on a rack, in a pan of white wine onions and garlic. Cover with foil, bake till done. Uncover. Slop some sauce on, put them on a tray. Hot over for 20 minutes.

If you don't have a grill can you just bake really slow in the oven?

I apply a rub and allow to marinade in that for up to 24 hrs. Then grill them for 15 mins each side in the oven, with the grill up fairly high. Then into the crockpot and smother with BBQ sauce. Let them go around 8 - 10 hours on low. Fall off the bone and they do not taste boiled.
Are BBQd ribs better? Yes because of the smoke factor. But if you do them right the crockpot is a good second best.

I did a dry rub, in crockpot for 6 hours then under the broiler to crisp them up a bit. They were nasty! We hated the texture and threw them out. Only on the grill from now on for us.

We don't own a grill/BBQ so I appreciate all these non-grill recipes, thank you!

This is how I do mine but I soak them in Dr. Pepper overnight first. I make a BBQ sauce with Dr. Pepper as well. Super yummy!

I love making them in the crockpot I season them up really well... Dry rub and lots of pepper. I set them on their sides on top of some wads of foil or a rack and put a little water in the bottom, not touching the meat. Low for 8 hours or so. Then I take them out and smear them with sauce... And run them under the broiler for a few minutes to brown them up. easy easy and you can do it without having the oven on all day
