...if it fell out of your pocket and into the toilet?
I was really looking forward to my Diet Dr. Pepper break, but I wasn't grabbing the dollar from the bowl!
I can't decide what point it would be worth it to clean the bill though - a $20? a $100? A wad of $100's?

Am I allowed to get gloves, long handled tongs and a mask before I fish it out? I think if it were coins I'd leave it but paper money? Probably a ten!

Did it fall into water you had already soiled or clean toilet water?

Depends on what was in the toilet.

There was pee in the toilet. The bill landed folded with only 1/3 of the bill touching the water. I could have retrieved the bill and made it to the sink without touching any urine.
I think I might have gone after a $20 in the same scenario.
This is a good reminder not to leave my cell phone in that pocket.

If it's a clean toilet, I wouldn't flush any money. If it's a dirty toilet and it's mine or my family's "dirt", I would probably fish out most bill tbh. They can be washed off. As a mom of three I've cleaned enough poopy diapers, mopped up vomit, been peed on by errant penises, and scrubbed enough dirty toilets to be afraid of something that landed in the toilet.

I guess we were typing at the same time. Yeah, I would have pulled that $1 out in a second.

Seriously? Sorry, I'm just not in the habit of flushing ANY money down the toilet. I'd just reach in and get it... soap and water works wonders in cleaning one's hands.

Keep it or throw it away. Don't flush it. You'll lose more money in plumbing repairs.

Now, see, I am normally not a germaphobe at all, and I probably would have grabbed it at home. But I just couldn't do it for $1.
Hold on - let me stir the pot a little. I prefer to foot flush in public bathrooms, but this one has hand-flush handles. I was leaning over to push the handle when the dollar fell. I stopped, stood straight, looked at it, then flushed. I think this is all the fault of not foot flushing.

as big a germaphobe as I am, I would fish it out and put it through a long dunking in dish soap, water and vinegar. I would want to do bleach but I don't want the colors bleaching out. I think vinegar will be fine for disinfecting.

I'd run it through the washing machine with my jeans, because I know how many times I've pulled cash out of the pockets of clothes that just came out of the laundry.

I'd fish it, wash it off with soap and run it through the washing machine at home. Sad to say I've touched worse than a little pee.

I'd be more afraid of the embarrassment I'd feel if I fell in trying to get a dollar out!

I'd take any amount out and wash it. Money isn't exactly sterile to begin with.

I'd be afraid to flush since my toilets/septic system are the world's fussiest!

I've always heard that money is filthy anyway so I think I'd fish it out, especially in your scenario.

M'eh, I'm not easily grossed out. I would've grabbed it, rinsed it off and laid it out to dry. Then I'd wash my hands and move on with life. Now if it had touched poop, then I'd glove up or use tongs. Considering that I find random bills in my washer intact, I'd be tempted to toss it into the next load if I really wanted to make sure it was "clean."

I would grab it and put it in the next load of laundry. lol. Partly because dh is very adamant about being careful what gets flushed. No kleenex, "flushable" wipes, etc. Only tp and human waste. And no money.
I think paper money that's been circulating has just as many germs or more anyway.

I'd have fished it out if it was my house. We have a fussy septic system that doesn't like that sort of thing. I'd throw it in the washing machine with a load of clothes. Port a potty, forget it. I'd be hard pressed to chase a $100 down one of those.

Uh, nothing. And I'd just rinse it off and leave it to dry. Honestly, money is one of the most foul things on earth. Think about all of the places people stick dollar bills on a stripper's body... I assume all singles have made their way through at least one strip club before arriving to me.

My toilet at home? I'd go in for any bill.
Public toilet? Probably a $10. And that's only because I'm really cheap. I seriously am creeped out by public toilets.

if it was just pee, I'd probably get any paper money out of the toilet... it can be laundered- haha!! (I crack myself up, sometimes, lol!)

Paper money is extremely dirty. Your pee probably wouldn't make it that much worse. Since it was only 1/3 of the way in, I'd likely fish it out and wash it off! (This from the girl who foot flushes to avoid the plume....I'm full of inconsistencies!)
