creaminess? I don't have any half and half and was thinking that maybe a bit of cream cheese added to the spaghetti sauce would make it taste like a mix between traditional red basil sauce and a bit of alfredo sauce. Anyone try this before? Just trying to think of ways to jazz up my meal tonight.

I often use cream cheese in pasta sauces. The one I'm making tonight is sun dried tomato pesto, cream cheese and sour cream then shredded chicken. I have also used it when I've run out of cooking cream. It is so good!

I do a spaghetti casserole kind of thing: Mix 8 oz cream cheese and 8 oz. sour cream with cooked spaghetti (about 12-14 oz of spaghetti is about right). Then I layer that in a casserold dish, top with meat / sauce, and shredded mozzarella.

I'm Italian. Never heard of that. We use a dollop of ricotta.

Ditto. Sorry. Cream cheese in sauce? No way! Triple ditto...this Italian is gagging...heavy cream...not cream cheese....dear God... Another Italian girl gagging. Ricotta cheese is great, but not as a replacement to cream, it gives a totally different texture.
