I'm trying not to complain---really, really trying---since the in-laws allow us to stay in their vacation condo for free any time they aren't there, but . . .
FIL likes to smoke cigars. He does it outside on the porch, but because the condo is in a beautiful wooded area in the mountains and is very pleasant, he often has all the windows into the house open, so the smoke comes straight into the house. In the past two years, the smell has seeped into the upholstery and drapes (I guess). As soon as I walk in, my chest begins hurting because I'm mildly allergic to smoke.
We leave the windows open as much as possible, Febreezed every fabric thing in sight, and burn scented candles. Closing up the house and running the air conditioner doesn't seem to help. Anyone else have other options to try. It's not as if I can demand that the man who owns the condo quit smoking his cigars!

I don't know that it is going to get rid of the cigar smoke but hopefully it will at least provide you with enough fresh air to get some relief - put a couple of box fans in the windows. One bringing fresh air in, one taking air out.
You could consider an air purifier for the bedroom where you sleep. I've never used one so not sure how effective they are.
