Michaels stores apparently are discontinuing Spellbinders dies and they are now all ringing up 90% off. Most of the stores in my area do not have them marked in any way but when you scan them they are coming up $2.49 and $2.99. If you check out youtube you will find several videos showing dies that others have found. All the videos I saw state 80% off but as of this past Tuesday the price dropped lower. Just thought I would pass this on to any one interested. BTW - Since most of the stores have done resets, I found most of the dies hanging on back end caps or bins on shelves.
Cuttlebug folders are included in this same sale as are a few Tim Holtz dies and Sizzix borders.

Anybody hear any rumours as to why Michaels is dropping Spellbinders. That must be a big account for Spellbinders to lose.

Had a few bucks on a gift card so I got 3 for $2.50. My store didn't have a lot of selection and the one I realllly wanted (and they always had!) of course they didn't have.

Did you find any of the Grand dies (reg $50)? The one I have been wanting forever but couldn't afford it wasn't there yet it was always there any other time. I'm curious if the Grands were excluded.

I just found Sizzix Brick and Woodgrained set of 2 embossing folders for $1.09 a cuttlebug scalloped edge embossing folder for .99 and A Martha Stewart Blossom Eyelet punch for $4.99 at my Michaels. They were all marked much higher but rang up at the cheaper price! Sad thing is I don't have an embossing machine yet!! And I have about 8 embossing folders! I was considering the evolution but haven't heard too many people who have one so I am still undecided! My store didn't have any spellbinders but I would never even had checked the price on these if it hadn't been for this thread!!

I am one of those who knows little of the Revolution or where you can even get one. Glad yopu found some bargains.

I haven't heard anything but found it so odd that they dropped their price without going through the customary markdowns. They certainly can't be making any profit if they sell them out at 80 - 90% off. I was tipped off when I discovered that they were no longer available online through Michaels. Hobby Lobby really scaled back their Spellbinders inventory.

You know it totally slipped my mind, such a duh moment, but anyhow.... Spellbinderspaperarts is having a 70% off sale and I think I saw some Grands on their site for $9.99. They had about 100 different dies on the sale a few days ago. You might check there site. They were also taking off a small additional percentage when you purchased and discovered this when I placed some things in a cart and went to find out what shipping would be. Good luck.

I am planning a trip to a different Michaels maybe tomorrow for a picture frame I am looking for that I couldn't find today..maybe I will find more deals!

I just left Joann's, and the Spellbinders section there (2/3 of an isle) was .... empty. They were less than an dozen assorted packages left, total. So, it seems they are clearanced there, as well.

My itty bitty Joanns has a fairly well stocked section currently but the other larger store had pulled all of theirs and replaced them with scanned pull tags and it appeared that they had little in stock. Maybe theft is on the rise, especially with the new packaging. I will say that they carry little of the basics unless you shop joanns on line. I guess i will have to keep an eye on that section.

I called my not so close Michaels store this morning to see if it would be worth the trip (about 40 minutes). I had to explain to the lady what they were and then I was transferred to the department. I was told only about 5 or 6 were on clearance. I decided to go because I didn't own any spellbinders dies. I get there and they are marked on clearance at $14.99! I took a couple I liked up to the register to see what they rang up as; $2.49! The peas rock! and I wish I had read the post better because "Cuttlebug folders are included in this same sale as are a few Tim Holtz dies and Sizzix borders" --> Oops! Anyway, 10 dies for $25.00, normally marked at $25.00 a piece.

I love when I can pass on helpful information as I have been the recipient of similar specials shared by others in the past. Gotta help each other out . Enjoy your dies. I LOVE my Spellbinders.

The dies were in two different sections of my Michael's. I got one set and a sizzix border die. Not much left though in my area. All of the clearance Martha's punches were gone. Though I usually get those at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or Ross. The last time I was in my local J's there were no dies, just embossing folders. The papercraft aisles are shrinking there too.

My local Michael's was still completely stocked and nothing marked down. I took one of each to the price checker, and they were all $2.49. I got 14 sets for about $30. Yay!

At my local Michael's, they were shown as discontinued, but priced at full price! I asked about it, and was essentially told that was the price, period, end of story. Needless to say, I bought none.
That was awhile ago, so maybe they actually ring up cheaper now, but I would have an employee scan it first, before getting in the checkout line.

Except there was hardly any employees in the store. I found it quicker to have them scanned at the register so I didn't have to find someone. I have plenty of dies (and a Cricut). So, I didn't need them that bad if they were going to scan at $14.99.

I used the "Price Checker" that was located on the end of an aisle to check before I bought. Oh, and all the dies that I found were located in the very back wall of the store, in the Clearance section. so check there if your store has one. (not all do)

Marimoose..I am leaning towards a big kick or big shot (not sure of the difference) Same machine; just different colors. I have a Big Kick and love it. Thanks for the heads up, everyone! Not sure when I can get to Michaels, though. It's on the other side of town and I work all day, every day this week. I'm debating whether it will be worth fighting traffic at 5:00 to see what they have before I head home....
