Today I was doing my annual update of my kids' school albums, since year end is fast approaching: It got me thinking… these albums are the Becky Higgins school kits that she sold back in what, 2010 maybe? I am finishing up my daughter's Grade 2 pages and then starting on my son's Grade 4 pages, which means I've been doing this for six years now and still managing to get it done. I remember wondering whether buying the kits was a good idea when I bought them, wondering if I would be able to keep it up. The design looks a little dated to me now, but I really like flipping through all the consecutive years of pages - the whole is definitely better than the sum of the parts. Are you a stick-to-it type or are you the type to lose interest quickly? If you bought the Becky Higgins school kits, are you still using them? I perhaps should not be surprised that I have kept this going; I have a couple of other annual projects that I still chip away at… for example birthday albums for both kids... Just finished year 10 (11, if you count the day he was born, which is the title page for the album!) On the other hand, there are plenty of projects I have quit over the years - I am not successful at everything I undertake!

I can be but not always. I think if I had more freedom to do as I choose with my time I'd do a lot more and Dinah more. It everytime I sit to scrap or craft I get crap from DH.
He needs a hobby so he can shut up lol
Your pages look lovely and it's good to keep it up.

I haven't scrapped in a long time, but want to get back into it. So I can't really answer your question, but wanted to let you know I love your pages. I like simple and clean where the pictures are the focus.

These are great looking layouts! It's good that you are sticking to it. Things happen when your kids are growing and you think you'll remember them, but in reality, you don't remember everything. It's wonderful to have those memories on paper.

Yes, I am that person who wants to finish what I started. I've got '94-2001 and 2009-this May finished. Now that I have a lot of time on my hands, I am going to start on 2002 this fall. I am dreading all of the sports pages. One kiddo was on seven teams in one year.

I was just thinking about the baby albums I've done of my kids and grandkids. Mainly thinking about it because my 5 granddaughters will be here and I thought they might like to see their parents as babies/toddlers, etc. I'm not sure I have enough completed. And their albums? Well, only 2 of the 5 have any semblance of an album.
Too many things get in the way of scrapping.

Your layouts are lovely! I sort of have stick-to-it-iveness. I have scrapbooked for 12 years. I don't scrap in chronological order and I don't do too many theme specific albums. I guess you could say I've stuck with my hobby for 12 years.
I've stuck with the NSBR board for many years!

I've been scrapping for about 11 years and I am current up until this April. I was looking at it today thinking I need to jump in and catch up. I usually finish my projects, but not always. I have a cross stitch project I've been working on for about 20 years. I haven't given up yet, it's here and I get it out and do a row or two every couple of years. I don't think I will ever finish it!! LOL.

I used to be all caught up and now I'm two years behind, trying to catch up again. I commend you for keeping up on the school year books.

Good for you! I'm very stuck to scrapping. I just do what I want and scrap when I can. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job keeping up with DS's photos. I've been scrapping for 15 years

I commend you! Your pages have a classic look. I scrap for stress relief, for the fun, not really to "have" the albums "done". For quite a few years I have attended scheduled events as a way of getting scrapping into my diary. I have limited time to scrap but love having my stuff out in the scrap room anyway. I shop a lot and believe this will stand me in good stead when supplies are no longer so freely available. Two of the stores (relatively close to me) have shut their doors recently and a huge online store is having almost weekly sales Scrap on!

I start more things than I finish but scrapping isn't something that's ever finished so...... I scrapped for years then transitioned to digital which I loved but I don't do it any more.
It's ok not to stick at everything.....its unreasonable to think that every thing you try you'll love forever.

I tend to just scrap high days and holidays and just digitally now. Sticking only at one particular project type forever would mean lots of lost opportunities - there's so much more to try in scrapbooking and craft in general!

I still do traditional sbing, no project life, but I stay pretty close to caught up. With my inherited photos from our grandparents to our grandchildren, I have 2 centuries of scrapbooks.

That describes me except I'm more than two years behind - more like four years! I've moved to digital photobooks for all other memory keeping, but I really want to finish out the books for the boys. They love looking through them and it's just a nice way to keep all that organized and able to be easily seen.

I'm not current with my scrapbooking, but eventually it all gets documented. My kids all have ongoing school/activity/sport combo albums. I would never just quit and not finish their school albums going forward.

I just celebrated my 15th wedding anniversary and still haven't done the wedding album I've always wanted.
I have a really good reason--my MS makes it so difficult for me to sit in a regular chair and do anything for longer than 15 minutes, and I don't have a studio area set up in this house--but I still really want to do artistic and craft stuff and have projects I really want to do.
Dh and I are going to move at the end of the year. The place we're looking to move to is a large loft that would have a nice area for me to have a craft area that is wheelchair accessible--I'm so excited to find a place where I can get around in a wheelchair. The floors are stained concrete, so they'll be easy to clean, and I won't have to worry about staining carpet. I can even go back to my first love--oil painting!
My mom always accused me of not having stick-to-it-iveness, but crafts can take a while. Things need to dry, ideas don't always come when you want them to, sometimes you need to step back and work on something else for a while until you get that artistic spark again. My mom wanted me to have stuff done in 15 minutes and if I left something to dry, I was "giving up". So annoying.
I am really enjoying embroidery and digital painting on my iPad right now. I can do both from my bed and can work on them any time I feel like it.
