I don't want the adhesive to show through, hopefully someone has been expertly adhering vellum and can help me out!

I find that small dots/pieces of ATG adhesive works very well.

Isn't there a vellum spray adhesive? Seems like it was all the rage when vellum first came out.

I use multipurpose spray adhesive, sprayed lightly and from a distance. that, or nothing at all and use a brad or two to hold it to the page.

I have been playing around with sewing on tea bags ( here is a small example of tea bag art) and finding a way to adhere the tea bags without having adhesive show through was a bit of an experiment. I ended up using one of the adhesive sprays (a spray mount that I found at Hobby Lobby) in a can that once sprayed wasn't noticeable. It did, however, add a bit of a ... not sheen, but it wasn't completely matte and invisible. I assumed that was a function of the tea bag being permeable more than anything else. I think it was Tree House? Which I think is Hobby Lobby's brand maybe? But I don't how it works on vellum. I just know that it has been okay-ish for what I need. Here's one that I did that I bothered to photograph-

You can also punch a couple of holes at the top (through both layers) and then tie them together with ribbon. I've done that on invitations where the vellum was a printed overlay.

There was a vellum adhesive that I really loved, but it seems to have been discontinued. It was a tape roller type. I've been using the Scotch brand of vellum adhesive but it isn't as great as the previous.

I think this is one of those questions with no answer like what is the meaning of life? Hahaha.
But really I usually do some sort of stitching, strategic stamping or heat embossing and place adhesive where the stamp will cover it. Or I use brads or eyelets to adhere it to my card.

I sometime use a tiny glue dot, then put an embellishment over it.
I have a vellum adhesive runner, but it's not perfect. I think it's discontinued.
I also use my tiny attacher (mini-staples).

I do NOT recommend vellum tape. It looks okay once adhered, but I've had problems with it yellowing over time.

I've had good luck with the xyron as well as sewing if that is a possibility for your particular project.

This sounds awfully scrapbook related--on the NON Scrapbook related board! Just kidding. In the past I've used brads, eyelets, or staples. I don't think I ever found a decent adhesive. Usually I didn't want the vellum to be completely stuck to the page because it took away from the floaty vellum feel. I never found an adhesive that would work for only part of the vellum.

There is a tape runner for vellum made by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L that is purple in color called the E-Z runner for vellum. I've used it and it works very well, the best I've found and I've tried several over my 14 years of scrapping. I order mine online. I love all of the different versions of their tape runners-they are wonderful, and they used to make the tape runners for Creative Memories.

The dollar tree used to have a great one when they had miss Elizabeth. One of the LSs used to buy all of it and repackage it.
