A few months (maybe 2-3) I stepped wrong and felt a pull or pop along the outer aide of my right foot. And I've had trouble ever since! Sine days nothing other days it really hurts! Debating calling to get an MRI or xray...but not sure what can be done if anything?

Could be a bruised bone and the only thing they say is ice and stay off of it. It can take 3 months to a year to heal if you do those things. However staying off a foot is hard to do if you have to get around.

I slipped in the shower and twisted my ankle, I heard a snap, and sure enough it was broken. the inside bone. spent 7 weeks in a cast and 5 in a walking boot. I would definitely get an xray, it's the cheapest of the two. if nothing shows up on the x-ray, then you could proceed with an mri. I would definitely get it checked out. hope you feel better.

Yikes. I don't know...some days it doesn't hurt at all. I did hurt that foot about 10 years ago....but still...

I did something similar, went to the doctor etc but I took about a year to heal. Hang in there

Oh I have a bruised bone (bone contusion with edema swelling) right below my pinky toe on the left side of my foot and it takes a long time to heal. They diagnosed it thru MRI and I had to wear the walking boot, which in itself caused hip and knee pain. It sucked and almost a year later, it still sometimes hurts. I would have skipped the walking boot and just done crutches to stay off it.
Also I have a bone spur and plantar fasciitis all in the same foot. Of which I tore something (not broken) two weeks ago and hurt it again.
I would say have an mri even though it is expensive and uncomfortable (well at least it was for me).

I was having foot pain, mostly after exercise but not always, and sometimes when I hadn't done anything. It started last May, at the same time as I was getting ready to move so I just ignored it. It kept on and then in January I got a dog, and he pulled the leash out my hand I went running as fast as I could to catch him and it was sooo painful.
I finally went to the foot doctor and she suspected a stress fracture even though nothing showed on the X-ray, and put me in a walking boot. Re-check 4 weeks later, and it wasn't better so she sent me for an MRI. All that showed on the MRI was swelling of the tendon, so she weaned me out of the boot and sent me to physical therapy.
In PT I did a lot of stretching and strengthening the muscles around my ankle, foot, hips and glutes which seems to have helped. If I don't keep up with the stretches, I can feel the pain starting again.

I think a doctor's visit is in order with a popping/pulling and pain that isn't going away. That's how my plantar fascitis started; I slipped on the cliff in my front yard while I was gardening and I could hear and feel it pop. The doctor had lots of good advice to help it heal faster (lace up supportive shoes worn all day, gentle stretches, icing.) It still took a long time to heal, but it didn't get worse.

Would you see an orthopedic or podiatrist?

Would you see an orthopedic or podiatrist? I would start with my family doctor. It may not be something that requires a specialist, and even if it does, your family doctor would be able to direct you to the right specialist.
