Culture Club is playing on the Today show this morning! Boy George is dressed all in black with fabric (?) inside his hat flowing like it is hair. Interesting look. I also found it interesting that he pretty much remained in one spot while singing.

I just watched ... That was such a low energy performance. Loved Boy George and Culture Club back in the day!!

I had tickets to see them twice - once in Vancouver, Canada in 1986 and once in the Seattle area probably mid-90's. Both shows were cancelled at the last minute and I didn't find out until I showed up at the venue.

One of my friends knew the drummer which made it even more exciting! They were great in their day

I just watched ... That was such a low energy performance. Loved Boy George and Culture Club back in the day!! You're exactly correct! It was very low energy. Did you notice that he really wasn't on a stage? He was on the ground not above it. My dh said that maybe he doesn't have a big road crew to set up and couldn't haul a stage.

I had no idea that they were still performing either!!

Ah...I saw him in Austin a LONG time ago. I don't think I was married yet and I got married in 1986, so yeah...it's been awhile. I loved him!!

Oh my...I just looked at their tour schedule and they are going to be in the Vancouver BC are on July 17 & 18. I wonder if the Today performance was just an off day or if that is how he usually performs now???
P.S. I really do not care for Boy George's beard.

Growing up, I had one poster hanging in my room - Boy George and Culture Club. I endured teasing because of that. However, I loved their music and had (still have) a British pen pal, so I "connected" with this band. Glad to see they got over the bad break up and are making music together again!

I saw it this morning.
Like others, I was surprised he's still performing. I had no idea.

I wouldn't think that they provide their own stage I would think the Today show would.
They didn't have much space so maybe thats why he seemed stilted to me.
I still love his voice... but he did seem to be just going through them motions
